How to make my D3100's shutter faster?
I own a Nikon D3100 camera. The problem is that when I go to take pictures there is this weird delay with the shutter. It focuses, closes and then a few seconds later the picture appears on the screen. This still happens even when the shutter speed is increased to the maximum. I have seen others with the same camera point it at the subject they are shooting and there is no delay what so ever with the shutter. It closes instantly and that's it. Any help would be greatly appreciated since I haven't been able to use the camera for some time now because of this issue. Thanks

Tips before buying my own camera?
I wanted to get myself a Nikon (since that's the only camera brand I've heard of) for photography. I need some tips and thoughts on what I also need and recommendations. My friends started talking about different lenses and films for their cameras so I started getting confused on what else I might need other than purchasing the physical camera itself. Does it come with everything it needs?

What DSLR cameras would you recommend in that price range? And what lenses would you use for landscape shots and macro pictures?

Cannon, Nikon, or Fujifilm?
Cannon, Nikon, or Fujifilm?
Added (1). I'm a game developer and need a point and shoot camera at the $125 budget (by eBay standards.) As a game developer, I use it to take high quality reference images or pictures that I will turn into textures for video games.
The one I have looked at the most is the Fujifilm S8600. I don't know much about camera so, is there a better a camera like Canon or Nikon for my purpose?

How to shoot portrait photographs?
I recently purchased a TPVideo1 Camlink forgetting it has no portrait functionality. I have been looking at L-plates but because I use my Nikon D5100 with a battery grip there isn t one that fits, also all the L-plates I have seen have quick release, but it is oriented the wrong way for my tripod.

Grazie!

Nikon mount 70-200/80-200 shootout?
I'm looking for a fast telephoto lens for sports/candid shots.
Obviously, the Nikon 70-200 f2.8 is the most optically superior (although it has an older VR system). I know that it has issues when focusing at close objects (at 200mm it is actually close to 140mm when focused close).
Another choice is the Nikon 70-200 f4, which is lighter and cheaper, but still over a grand. Although it has an excellent VR system (4 stops), it has a smaller aperture which cannot freeze motion as well as an f2.8 aperture can.
I have also ruled out the sigma 70-200 and looked at the Tamron 70-200. I have read positive reviews from it. However, I am still a bit skeptical of third party lenses but I am still considering the tamron.
The last choice that I have is the 80-200 Nikon f2.8 which has no VR and has slightly inferior optics as well as slower AF and has no weather sealing.
I'm torn on which one to choose! Please be aware that I am on a tight budget and own a crop body as well as a full frame.
Thanks

Is a common dslr neck strap string enough?
Wearing my Nikon d7100 with a 24 to 70 lens as well as sb 700 speedlight makes for a hefty load. I even a common supplied strap strong enough, not to mention the little eyelets the strap goes into?

35mm vs 50mm mounted on a D3200?
Hello I own a Nikon D3200, I'm currently tied between the 35mm 1,8g and the 50mm 1,8g.
I read somewhere that a 50mm on my camera (DX) is actually an equivalent of a 75mm. Does that mean that if I want a 50mm I have to buy the 35mm because it will be the equivalent of 50mm? Moreover which one of these two lenses is a more general starting point when bought as a first lens.
Added (1). by (DX) I mean that it is an APS-C sensor with a crop factor, my mistake **

What exactly does a photographer's assistant do?
I'm fifteen and I have been doing photography for a year and a half now. I use a Nikon D3300 and use Adobe Photoshop as a software. I post my pictures on Facebook and a couple weeks ago my moms cousin asked if I wanted to be his assistant. I get paid like 50 bucks a session so it's pretty good money for my age but I'm not sure if I want to do it or not.
