How many MB of scanning do I need to print 16x16 photos from 120 film?

A lab near me uses an Imacon and he said that its 50 cents an MB and I would only need 8mb but thats way too small for print isnt it? Online site will do like 80mb for 10$ on a Nikon coolscan and 400mb on an actual drum scan for 30$ so in the end is 8mb enough? It would only be 4$… I really need the best from these films

Best general purpose lens for a DSLR beginner?

Buying a nikon d5200 and it comes bundled with a 18-105mm lens is this a good general purpose lens? Need Something that covers a fair amount of range with AF-S, VR, ect. But i keep hearing things that say the 18-105mm lens is just not very good hence me asking the question. I have no lenses so im starting brand new with about 500$ or less to spend on a lens or lenses and was hoping for something that covers a good range so i don't have to switch lenses often.

What do these camera/dslr terms mean?

I am shopping for an adapter that will mount my Nikon lenses to my af 100 camera,
I keep reading in the reviews of "alot of play" and "leaking" defining the bad adapters.
What exactly does that mean?

Thanks in advance!

Looking to upgrade to a slr or something similar?

At the moment i'm using a Kodak Easy Share z5010.
www.amazon.com/Kodak-EasyShare-Z5010-D…
its a nice camera, takes nice pictures, its 14mp, but its fairly limited.i've talked to several other photographers briefly about their camera and looked at their photos.
one photographer was a professional and used a professional camera.he took a picture of a model head to toe, was able to zoom into the model's eye and even the blood vessels in her eyes were detailed.i didn't know a camera that powerful existed.i was rather amazed.
then later i came across a girl who if she took a photo of a person head to toe, you could zoom into the model's face, and the model's eye looked clear but couldn't zoom in any more than that.she wasn't sure what model Nikon she had but she confirmed it was 14 mega pixel as well.
when i take a photo of someone head to toe, if i zoom in to see the models face i cant even tell what color the eye is.at this point, it is making me feel rather insecure about the photos i am taking.actually, my droid is 8mp and takes better photos (although it cant zoom which is why i don't use it often)

so my question is, for under $500, preferably around $400 or under, what camera will give me the highest quality.
couple things i find important is how clear will the picture be.i doubt i will be able to afford the camera in the first example but the clearer the better. the ability to shoot in low light.and not as important, but back light.would also be nice if it could take hd video too.if i can trust the company i'm buying from, i don't mind if it is new, used, or refurbished.im quite concerned how the girl's camera had the same number of mp but yet her images were 3 x more clear.to make sure it was the camera and not the user, she took the same photo with both hers and my cameras.

I want to know how to take crisp indoor action shots?

I have a Nikon D40 and have taken great pictures of outdoor sports with the continuous shutter speed setting. Virtually everything else was on the factory setting from what I can tell. The pics were crisp and it looked like the camera stopped time to get the shot. When I try the same thing for indoor sports the continuous shutter doesn't work on the green "auto" mode, so I changed it to "sport" mode. The pictures are blurry at best, most times not even recognizable. It seems like the shutter speed is slower than the outdoor pics. Please help! My kids are not getting any younger and I'd like some good keepsakes. Thanks

Which DSLR Camera, needs external mic port?

Hi,
Im looking at getting a DSLR camera, but am a bit stuck!
Im currently at uni doing a film course, so I need one that has an external mic port.
I was looking at the Canon D3100 and the Nikon 1100D, but neither of these have the external mic port.
My budget is up to £350 at a push.

Thanks for your answers!

Is the Nikon 20mm f/2.8 AF-D any good?

I've been after a 16-35mm f/4 VR for a while now, but trying to get one is like attempting to purchase weapons grade plutonium.

I thought I may give the 20mm AF-D as a stop gap. Does anyone have any knowledge of this lens?

I'm ok for AF. All my bodies have in built in AF.
