Im having dvd computer burning problems?

Im using windows 7 i want to burn some videos the videos were shot with my nikon D3100 camera and when i want to add them to windows dvd maker it sas: 0files wrre added the file bla bla bla (the files name ) is not supported file type and it cannot be imported:
I wanna know if its the dvd maker or the cd or the video or what please help

Is the Nikon D5000 a better camera than the Nikon D50?

I've had a D50 fir about 6 years now and I recently bought my friends 2 year old D5000 for $300. I don't know much about the D5000 except for the fact that it shoots video and has a double the mega pixels that the D50 has, I just assumed it was a good upgrade from the 6 year old D50. I do a lot of landscape and low light/night photography, so I hope this was a good choice as an upgrade.
Thoughts and opinions please!

Advice on selecting a lens?

Hi everyone, I've been looking into purchasing a portrait lens and was hoping I could get some input based on knowledge/experience.My portraits consist of infants, maternity, family, and children/toddler. I mostly take pictures of babies and toddlers. I've been reading some reviews on portrait lenses and I keep finding great reviews on the Nikon 50mm f/1.4G and the Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8. I'm leaning more towards the Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 but not sure. I own a Nikon D60 and my lenses are 18-55mm 3.5-5.6g (this one came with the camera and is what I'm currently using), and have a Nikon 55-300mm 4.5-5.6g. When I think about purchasing the lens, polarizer, and filter; I think I should start off with the 50mm. I'm thinking about selling my 55-300 mm 4.5-5.6g lens since I never use it to save/purchase the Sigma 17-50 f/2.8 in the future. I really just want to make the right choice for my first portrait lens and any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I dropped my camera now it won't save images to my SD card!

I own a Nikon D5000 camera that I've had for a few months but recently I came home to find my camera on the floor with the lens completely detached. I think the cat knocked it off the countertop. The lens lost its attachment tabs but I dont care about that I have other lenses.the problem is when I take a picture it only shows me the last image taken before the camera fell.It won't save any new images. I don't see how this could be a bad SD card because how can an SD card break in a fall? I even formatted it and it still wont save images. Help please? I need this camera for my job!

Best Macro Lens for D3100 for Nail arts?

I'm starting a Nail blog, and I have the Nikon D3100 with lens kit and also the 50mm lens f/1.8, but both can't seem to capture my nails, so I'm wondering what is the best macro lens out there for me? Im still in college, so my budget is around 200-400. I would prefer auto focus, because I only have one hand to take the picture of my other hand. But i think those are limited and probably a fortune.

Nikon camera and fisheye help!

Basically I'm after a good quality fisheye, an because I'm interested in skateboarding photography I think autofocus is a must? But I'm not sure what is the best option, as far as I'm aware there is some nikon cameras that have the autofocus motor built into the body itself? So would it be ok to get a manual focus lense an upgrade my camera? And anyone got any recommendations?

D7000 Aperture and Autofocus don't work?

Okay so my Nikon D7000 has recently been having huge troubles with focusing and now it just doesn't even try to focus! Also; no matter what lens I use (Whether it's an old manual or newerish AF), the aperture control doesn't do anything! It always says 3 and sometimes jumps around between 2 and 3 VERY rapidly. Even though it says 3, when the camera's shutter activates, the aperture always closes to it's smallest level. What do I do?

Nikon 12-24mm vs Nikon 10-24mm?

I just bought Nikon D7100 and currently own 35mm f/1.8, 55-300mm, and 18-55mm lenses.
I would lilke to complete my set without breaking the bank for buying a wider focal lense.
I've been reading some reviews and suggestions online and saw this Nikon 10-24mm and Nikon 12-24. But I am kinda confused with so much reviews and suggestions online to what to buy, weather the newest 10-24mm but flimsy made but shoots sharper images or the 12-24mm which is older version and shoots lighter images but well made compared to the other one.
I need to buy the final lense that I will be needing while I am learning to be a professional photographer, and will last with me for a long time.

Please kindly help me for more suggestions and comparisons. I know I am still a green apple in the photography business that's why I am humbly asking for some suggestions so that I don't need to waste my money of buying lenses that I should not buy yet while learning more about photography.

What are the best wide-angle lenses for Nikon DSLR?

Hi, i'm a complete photography beginner and have the Nikon entry level D3200 camera with 18-55mm kit lens. I'm looking for a lens that would give me great landscape shots. I'm not just talking about a couple of buildings, i'd like a lens that's good for far away landscape images, such as mountains, a lens that can capture as much of the view (wide) as possible, and architectural work too. I'm not too fussed about it being able to capture close up images, mainly distant ones.

I've heard good things about the following but haven't had any direct advice for what i want this lens for.
12-24mm
16-85mm
16-35mm

Canon 5D MK3 vs Nikon D800E?

I am looking for a digital camera…
I'm coming from an advance user perspective. I actively use a fleat of Film cameras in various formats (135, 120 - 6x6, 6x9; 4x5).
I am an advance user. I use to use a Fuji x100 before it was stolen and am looking for a digital camera that will be used occassionally… My bias will remain with analogue
- street, landscape, urban landscape, studio, events … … … I do a bit of everything; however i have never done any sport, action or macro. Nor do i have any interest in pursuing it in the future.
note 1: I do make large prints that I hang on my walls at home.
note 2: i am not a professional photography, my income does not rely on photography in any way shape or form.

I'm a little torn between the canon and nikon
5D MK3: grip.functionality and easy customization from portraits to landscape. less hestitant focusing.
Nikon D800E: resolution, resolution, resolution. i.e. for my larger prints

is it weird that the only lenses that i intend to use are…

50mm f/1.4
135mm f/2
(I never really used zooms and i feel like I don't need them.)

I've read numerous reports of the Nikon D800 hunts a little bit before finally confirming autofocus. I've noticed something similar when I tried it in the showroom. Which i'm assuming is also true for the 800E.In the nikon's defence, it is not something i would notice if it wasn't mentioned earlier.

I prefer not to rely on DXO mark for sensor performance. I've seen prints that do not reflect the scores delivered by DXO. i.e. i've seen a number of prints with images taken from a Leica M8 that has greater tonality and depth to a similar image made by NIkon D700. Unfortunately, shops don't typically supply prints for inspection.

How to save up money as a teen?

Okay, so over the summer I am trying to save up money to buy myself the Canon Rebel T3i or the Nikon D3200. Though, those are a little pricey. I was thinking of opening an Etsy shop, but there may be better alternatives. What are some good ideas for saving up money as a teen? I'm like 13 so I can't get a job. Should I upgrade from my Nikon D70?

I love the top lcd screen, bigger size, 1/500 flash sync and long battery life that it delivers. However, it is a very old camera now and my feeling is I would get much better picture quality with something like a D5100. However the D5100 is smaller, lacks the top lcd, and is less suited for my preferences. I don't plan to use live view, and love to use manual settings (manual ISO, aperture priority, and change exposure metering). A big negative with the D70 is only having 5 auto focus points, and only 1 cross type. However I did buy it for $170, so there's that.

What do you think?

How to take a picture while filming on Nikon D7000?

I technically already know how to do this, you just press the shutter button down all the way.
However, I'm wondering if I can do this WITHOUT having the video stop. I press the shutter down while filming and instead of having it take the picture simultaneously, it stops recording, takes the picture, and then I have to press the record button to start filming again.It does not capture the image while I'm filming and continue to film once the image has been taken.
I was wondering if there is a way to do this or if I'm just out of luck.

Look at Japan now! they have electronic companies like Sony, Shorp, Toshiba, Canon, Nikon etc. They also have one of the largest auto industry in the world with companies like Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Mitsubishi etc. All thanks to US.

Your suggestions for Bokeh on a budget?

I currently have a nikon 50mm f1.8d, 35mm f1.8g and the 18-55mm kit lens.
I am selling the fifty due to its softness at wide open. What would you recomend for a good lens with pleasing bokeh. The 35mm has terrible bokeh. I am considering the 85mm f1.8g which is very sharp but the bokeh is ot perfect. The 85mm 1.4g has perfect bokeh but is too expensive.My upper price limit is 500 usd. Thanks!

'Ello, I'm looking into buying a new camera. I have a Nikon D70s and I actually absolutely love it, but cameras change and I'm thinking I should too (well new camera that is). I've been looking into canons, but I love Nikons. Really I have no debate between the two, I'm open and I think they're just as good. I'm moving to Germany soon, so I want something that is light. I don't want to have to carry around a huge pro body lens like the 5D or 7D. But I want something that takes quality photos, photos that i could possibly sell down the road. I looked into the Canon Rebel EOS SL1, but i think it's more beginner. But i do enjoy the price, that's for sure.So any suggestions would be nice!

What are the ideal settings on a 60D for IR photography? I have a 720nm filter. Mostly concerned about white balance settings, as well as photoshop processing. Nikon 55 - 200mm lens?

So, I just got the 55mm - 200mm lenses and I was wondering what they are good for, I do know that they don't really work well in low light situations but it's good for outdoors.
I was just wondering what I could use them for! :)

Nikon D7000 won't go below 1 shutter speed?

Hello,

I have a Nikon D7000 that I have been using for a while now, I am fairly familiar with it (enough to use it on Manual mode).

I usually take long exposure shots but want to now start taking shots that require a faster shutter speed (1/500 - 1/2000 etc) but for some reason my camera won't let me put a shutter speed below 1". Does any one know why?

Before you mention, the 'live video' thing is turned off, auto ISO is also turned off. I have searched the forums/D7000 book for a reason why but can't seem to find one.

I have a Nikon 18-55mm and Sigma 70-300mm lenses.

Professional guidance would be great, if you have an opinion on my choice of camera, experience or choice of lens I would also love it if you kept it to yourself!

Can I take professional looking pictures with a point & shoot?

Can I take "professional" looking pictures with a point & shoot? I am wanting to take family photos, pictures of newborns, etc. I'm not trying to start a business really but it would be awesome to be able to make a little money.My niece was just born & I would like to start taking pictures of her, if I gathered some nice props, learned nice poses, etc, would the pictures be able to look professional? What camera do you recommend? I'm thinking a canon, I did have a Nikon cool pix & thought that was a great camera but I've had bad customer experience with them.

Why does my 32MB memory card only hold 8 pictures from my camera!

I keep deleting all the photos on it and reformatting it but it still only ever hold 8 pictures. I have a Canon PowerShot SX150 IS, but that's irrelevant since my old camera was a Nikon and I had the same problem. And it's not my memory card that's bad either, because I also have a 63MB one that has the same problem. What do I do to maximize the capacity of it?

Nikon D3100 w/ 18-55 lens autofocus issues?

Hello!

I bought my girlfriend a Nikon D3100 kit with 18-55mm lens. I opened to play around with it.
I am happy with the camera but the autofocus is weird sometime, I know its probably due to my inexperience with DSLRs.
I read the manual and learned about all the modes but I still not getting if its normal what it does.
So I try to focus on the lamp at the end of the room zoomed all the way in, I press the shutter half way and the camera starts to focus.At first its blurry, the motor focuses and it passes the crisp image and goes back to blurriness from where it started. When I zoom out a bit and focus its fine.
Would getting a different lens change anything? My simple pocket camera can focus on it no prob.

Any tips on setting that thing up would be appreciated.

I have just started taking photos a few weeks ago and really don't know much about photography at all but I really enjoy it and wanted to learn a lot about it. Suggestions for DSLR upgrade from Nikon D3000?

I currently own a Nikon D3000 but am looking to upgrade to a newer Nikon DSLR. Like I just said, I do want to stick with the Nikon brand, also, two other important added features I want that the D3000 doesn't is:
1) Video mode, and
2) Automatic photo bracketing (for HDR shots), also,
3) A time-lapse setting or mode.
Looking to spend not too much, about $300-$500, am also looking to buy just the body and sell my D3000 body but keep my lenses.
I was figuring on sticking to the D series, although I'm not sure what the differences are in the series.
* It also doesn't have to be one of the newest models, just as long it is an upgrade of the D3000 and has the added features I want

How to determine whether the lens is sharp or not?

Is it something to do with how much elements and groups are present?

For example if a lens has 11 elements in 8 groups (Nikkor 18-55mm VR) and another lens 15 elements in 11 groups (Nikkor 55-200mm VR ED) which would be sharper?

Is it the lens with more elements sharper or the lens with less element sharper?

Some help with EVIL cameras?

I read and reread many reviews about the small mirrorless cameras and i decided i want to get one. I have been looking into the Panasonic Lumix GF3, Sony Nex 3, and the Samsung NX1000.i know the red Nikon 1 is realll nice looking, but ive taken pictures on a borrowed one and i wasn't too thrilled with the pictures.the Samsung has no built in flash and none of them have built in viewfinders but i am willing to accept that.Im just looking to take some nice little picture of my son when we go to park, or just casual little outings, without feeling like im doing a photo shoot with my big ol dslr. Any suggestions or help? im stuck trying to decide.

Alright so my brother does Karate tournaments and I'm trying to find a good camera for his school. I need fast shudder speed to catch the perfect shots during the sparing (fighting) matches. I don't have camera knowledge to really know what to look for. I'm trying to keep the price as low as I can but I'm not looking for something great and expecting to spend just pennies for it. I've seen this camera and it had great reviews but I need to know if this would be good for catching the shots I need or if this is totally not what I want. Uv filter stuck on lens!

I recently bought the Nikon d3200 which came with a uv lens to put on the lens.So I put it on but I can't get it off! Whenever I try to screw it off, the lens turns and makes a sound. I'm scared to break it. Help?

Help!
Does shooting lower quality photos on the Nikon D3100 save battery life? Are there also any other tips anyone can give me about preserving the charge on this camera?

I've got quite worried after reading how this camera doesn't seem to last long in terms of number of photos…
I'm using it for an event that's lasting around 9 hours. (I won't be taking photos all the time though!)
I always use the viewfinder too and don't check the screen much for looking at previous photos I've taken!

I also won't be using it for video, but are there any other tips people can share?

Nikon Lens Error - fEE on 80-400mm VR with Nikon D7000?

I have a Nikon D7000 and recently purchased an AF VR-Nikkor 80-400mm 1:4.5-5.6D lens. Unfortunately, I can't seem to get the lens to work with the camera. The camera flashes the fEE error, which in previous experience with other lenses and cameras was solved by making sure the lens was set to the smallest aperture and locked, which I've done. I've even "run through" the range of apertures before locking.

I know that the camera works with two other lenses I've got.

I plan to travel internationally with my camera and lenses in just a few days, so if you have multiple ideas, I'd love to hear them all. I'm stressing out about not having enough time to continue researching my problem, especially since I live a great distance from any cities with camera shops and have to consider the holiday weekend.

Added (1). The Nikon D7000 even on manual setting gives the error.

I just tried the lens on an older camera (Nikon D100), and it seems to work, although the D100 won't power the autofocus on the lens.So, I'm not sure if it's the lens (which works on one camera but not the other) or if it's the camera (which works with 2 other lenses but not this one).

Is Nikon to Canon an upgrade?

I'm planning on switching out my Nikon D5100 to the Canon T3i because I've read many forums and peoples opinion seem to say that Canon is way better than Nikon when it comes to video, which I intend on using this DSLR for. But is it really better?
Added (1). I know many people recommend a camcorder, but I'm focusing on a dslr right now. Also, any other dslr's that are really good with video, but under $1000?

INEXPENSIVE LENSES ESSENTIAL FOR NIKON D7100?

Hi good day to everyone! I recently bought Nikon D7100 to be my hobby. I am totally zero knowledge when it comes to photography. But I am determined to learn and to be a good, if not a professional photographer, someday. I have 18-105mm and 55-300mm Nikon lenses and I noticed that my indoor shots are not really that good. I read about aperture and exposure thing and became interested in buying 35mm f1.8 prime lens. I would like to ask if do I really need to shell-out another $200 for 35mm lens to achieve one of the most important art of photography which is what they call "bokeh". I have read in lots of reviews that 35mm f1.8 is really useful specially when it comes to indoor photography, though it is not a zoom lense-fixed distance.

I want to buy a good microphone to use with my Nikon D3100 camera, but I don't know what are considered good mics for certain types of things, or like what the difference between condenser mics and the other type are, or what would be the best choice in type of mic and brand. I am new to DSL Rs confused and between Canon EOS 600d, Canon EOS 550d, Nikon D5100, Nikon D3100
and a Sony HX 300
My family is asking me to buy the Sony Hx300 as the camera has to be used for domestic purpose also.

Battery grip for Nikon D3100?

My camera has stopped recognising my shutter release cable?

I have a Nikon D5000 and have started doing some night photography and with some nice results, however I bought a 'Shoot' shutter release cable from Ebay a few weeks back, initially everything went well, however my camera has stopped recognising it, if the back of the camera is lit up & I press it, the camera goes dark as if there is something happening, but the actual shutter release doesn't activate… it was fine last night when I was out using it.

Nikon d7000 broken autofocus Repair or Exchange after 4 day use?

I just purchased a brand new Nikon d7000 and after 4 days of use the Autofocus stopped working!

I was wondering which would be better? To send it to Nikon for Repair? or To send it back to the Store for an Exchange? Why?

I worry on both because. I don't want to send it away for repair and have something else go wrong with it once I get it back… after all it doesn't really bode well to be having a brand new camera repaired after only 4 days use. And I also worry that if I exchange it I will end up with another problem camera! Thoughts?
Added (1). Did all the stuff both of you mentioned. Read through almost the whole manual, checked all the autofocus & lock buttons, checked ALL menu settings, even tried reattaching the lens again! Nothing! Won't focus.

How to improve on portraits?

When I shoot certain portraits in the middle of the day, their face and body might at times be hidden in shadows. I know using a fill flash might help, but there are other ways of taking better pictures. I try using a reflector, too. Also, I was informed that I should invest in a 50mm lens for portraiture. I use a Nikon D3100.

Hello! I've just picked up photography as a hobby and have been learning about some really neat ways to take pictures. I see pictures like this all the time and I was always curious how do they come out like this? Is is a Photoshop effect? Lighting effect? Combination of both? Any advice would fantastic :) I'm taking a trip with some friends to a waterfall and I'd like to put this effect on it when they all go jumping off. Nikkor 50mm f1.8 or 16-85?

I have a D5200 and im going to be doing portraits. I really like zoom lenses, but i have heard that upgrading from my kit lens(18-55) to 16-85 isn't going to give me MUCH sharper images.So, is the 50mm f1.8 really that sharp??? If so, What zoom lens would be as sharp as this prime???

Nikon D5100 Video / Youtube help?

Hi.
I recently decided to start making YouTube videos with my Nikon D5100, but i was terrible disappointed afterwards.
I was planning to use windows movie maker to edit my video but i found out that Windows movie maker doesn't support the Nikon D5100 File. Thus, it didn't let me upload the video to edit it.
So i went online, searching, and i found out i need a video converted. I searched for the best one to use for the Nikon D5100, got the trail and after it converted the video yet again i was disappointed. The video converter killed my audio and the quality of my video as well as made it very slow.
And this is where i need help. What should i do?
Should i get another editing software other then Windows movie maker?
What kind of video converter should i use? (Because supposedly i got a trail to a very good one and apparently it was suppose to work great with my cameras video and it didn't.)

If you have any tips, suggestions or anything like that let me know because i am new to making youtube videos, and i want to start making high quality, smooth looking videos. And i do see that people use Their Nikon D5100 Camera to film and when they post it on YouTube, its flawless.

Nikon 18-300mm replacement for 18-105mm and 55-300mm?

Is it reasonable to add $400 more to replace my Nikon 18-105mm and 55-300mm ($600 total) with Nikon 18-300mm? I want to replace my two lenses with one to make it easier not to always change the lenses. But I'm worry if the quality of pictures will be different, I read some reviews that the picture qualities are not that good for 18-300mm. What the difference in taking a picture on the weblink with a 1dmark 2 and a d7100?

The pic is taken on the same settings on both the camer e.g. focal lenth, aperature, iso, shutter speed
The 1dmark2 i know is full frame (get wat you see in the viewfinder) except that, what other differences are there?
Also the len used for 1dmark 2 is canon 24-70f2.8 and nikon d7100 sigma 17-50f2.8

The back of my Nikon 35mm won't close?

I shot a roll of film and after the last shot, the screen said "end" and the back popped open. I took the film out which obviously all got ruined, but now the camera still won't close.

Picking a lens for my DSLR?

I'm taking Digital Photography 101 next semester and need a DSLR camera. I know little about them and dont need nothing fancy.

My question is, what kind of lens should i get? Should i just get the stock 18-55mm Lens that comes with both cameras?

Hi i have a nikon d5000 dslr and looking to buy lens.found a tamaron lens Tamaron 70-300mm AF 1:4-5.6 LD tele macro, but not sure where it is compatible or not with nikon d5000 as in the AF function and an honest opinion about the lens.

What camera is good for me?

So im looking into buying a camera and its not really for photography but i will use it for that sometimes. I want the camera to film tutorials on nails and charms and vlogs and i want it to be around 200 dollars or less and i want it to focus really well during videos and pictures and when you zoom i need it to focus well too. I wan the camera to have very good sound and audio and to be able to hear myself when i play back videos because i dont want to speak trough a mic. i like nikon and canon and a little bit of sony and i want it to have a good design too :) please let me know any good camera for me :) 10 points to best answer!!!

Kodak C183 wont format memory card?

I used my 4GB Kodak memory card with a Nikon D3000 for the longest time but I sold that a while ago and have been using a Kodak C183 with a completely different cheap memory card. Now that that's full I wanted to format my 4GB Kodak card as soon as possible for use with this crappy Kodak C183, I tried the "format memory card" option on the cameras menue a billion times but this is doing nothing, I need an expert and soon, thanks!
(I tried looking at a PDF version of this cameras manual, tried what it suggested but this camera still refuses to format this card!!)

I RECENTLY BOUGHT NIKON D7100?

I have couple of questions in regards of my purchase for my new camera (Nikon D7100)

1.Is it necessary for me to go to Photography School to be Professional Photographer, I not even a "professional" at least kinda close to becoming a professional one?

2. I am currently studying about the "aperture" in Nikon's User Manual, can I adjust my camera's aperture manually if I have NIKKOR LENS AF-S 18-105mm f/3.5 - 5.6G ED VR, or I need to buy a specific lens like CPU lens?

3.Is there any website I can go for "FREE" training?

Looking for a very good but not-too-expensive DSLR?

So I've been having the nikon d40 for about 5 years now, and it's just beyond time for me to upgrade. I'm sick of having to photoshop the photos SO extensively in order to get the focus and color depth that I want.
I still don't really want to pay over $1300 though. (for lens and body). I'm looking into the Sony a57 but i was wondering if it was really a step up? I like when the background is very blurry and the main subject is completely focused, and it looks like the a57 gives that.

In your opinion, which should be my next purchase for DSLRs? I really just want that beautiful photo without having to rely on photoshop to get it.

The fact of that matter is that I KNOW and USE my Nikon d40 to it's full capacity. I am not saying that the d40 doesnt capture beautiful photos, because it does, all I'm saying is that I want a step up.

Why does nikon view NX 2 say unsupported file type whenever I try to open a.mov video?

I shot the video with my nikon l120 so I would think this nikon program would be compatible. I watched the video on view NX 2 and it worked fine, but hours later I try opening it and it just said unsupported file type. I've tried deleting it and uploading it from my camera again and it still wouldn't let me. Any suggestions?

Nikon d7000 Auto Focus Problems!

Just got a brand new Nikon d7000 less than a week ago and today all of a sudden out of the blue the AutoFocus does not work. Won't focus and if you try and press the shutter it won't take pics either. Manual focus works fine. What is going on? Any suggestions on what might have happened!

I'm using the Nikon d7000 with the 18-105mm VR lens. Both the auto focus button on the camera and on the lens are clicked to auto focus but it won't work. If I switch the buttons to manual it works fine. Brand new camera… any help would be appreciated! Thanks

About 6 months ago, I was on Xanax bars with a friend and we were bored walking around my neighborhood. Then we took another two and after that everything was a blur. Well, when i woke up the next day i heard that when I was on bars i was around my other friends house with no one inside, so i decided to sneak in (mind you this is what my friend that i took bars with told me) and i found the kitchen window open so i went in and i took water for myself and gave my friend that was outside and i went back inside looking for something, Idk what. Going through my friends room i broke his Nikon camera by dropping it on the floor, i guess i panicked and left.but when i was leaving, his neighbor saw the whole thing saying i broke in and was gonna call the cops so i ran. The next day i woke up and i found out he didn't call the cops but told my friend and his mom. They got mad and he said i took two bags of quarters and broke their camera and why i did it? I then told them what happened and that i didn't take anything because the neighbor saw me walk out with nothing and the neighbor approved. Now we have been talking and he kind of forgave me but said i have to buy him a new camera lens which was $400, i told i don't have the money for that, i'll pay for a repair. He said okay and weeks later lying to me saying that he repaired it and it cost 300$ so i told him to show me the reciept and he refused so i didn't believe him and told him i'll pay him when he shows me a receipt. He was lying and showed me a reciept after a month which said 120$ so i said okay i'll pay you but it'll take time because my mom doesn't know and i don't want her to.So he gave me time and i havent' payed him yet but i'm gonna pay him at the end of this month when i get my paycheck form my new job at publix. Now he's threatening me if i dont pay him by next week he'll call the cops and send me to small claims court. What can the cops do? Can they arrest me for something that happened 6 months ago? What can they charge me with? I'm scared.

How to build your own underwater housing unit for your camera?

I have a Nikon D3000 and don't want to spend a lot of money on an underwater housing unit but would like to take some under water shots. I was thinking going out in the surf and taking pictures of my friends surfing and boogie boarding.It does not need to be able to go to deep just enough for me to dive under waves if necessary maybe 20 feet. Do wide angle (Nikon) lenses offer a significant benefit over compact zoom lenses?

My Nikon 12mpix L105, a Black Friday 100$ special, has a 15x Nikkor wide optical zoom vr lense. Happy enough with it. If I purchased another model with a "regular" lense, let's say also 15x (though if I trade up I'll likely want more zoom), would there be any difference in my photos? I am not a photographer in any sense. Just wondering. More convenient to have a smaller camera (I'm tired of clutter, only want 1 of anything, I've contemplated just buying a 2nd). Decided not to buy a dslr anytime soon.As I said I'm not a photographer.

I personally have a Nikon D7000, but not because I prefer Nikon over the other brands, it's just what my Dad bought and I now have, and I've learnt on it so am familiar with it compared to any other brands.As I said, I am not specifically supporting Nikon as a favourite, I just have one of their cameras.

But tell me, do you prefer Nikon or Cannon or Pentax, and then tell me why? I mean, all three produce high quality DSLR Cameras, so why is there so much rivalry?

Use an iphone as an ipod?

Ok so I'm really into taking pictures and photography and I have a Nikon Nikkor 15x wide Optional zoom VR but when I'm out at school and places I don't bring it with me. I have an Ipod 4 gen, and the quality of iPhone pictures is much better than my iPod pictures for when I'm out somewhere. Would I be able to buy and iPhone with no plan and still use the Camera, and all the apps it comes with? Also could I have my apps and music on there and use wifi so it's just like an iPod, but really an iPhone? Thanks!

I need a better Portrait Lens for NIKON D3100?

I bought the nikkor 35mm 1.8 AF-S lens a few months ago for my d3100 because I do a lot of portrait work and it is the most highly recommended for the d3100. However, the depth of field is still not as shallow and creamy as I would love to see in my portraits.
I am looking for a lens that will achieve beautiful bokeh for under about $800.

Have been considering either of the Nikkor AF-S models 50mm 1.4 or 85mm 1.8
I have also read about Rokinon's 85mm 1.4 which sounds like a nice cheaper option but it would not have auto focusing on my 3100 and I don't know how hard manual focusing would be for me since i've never done that.

Anyone have any ideas, suggestions or opinions on where to go from here and or what to purchase?
I mostly do outdoor shoots of models, couples or children.

Which could be the smallest mechanical film SLR from Canon?

Recently I've been using a very nice FTb ql, but I'd like to know if during those days Canon also made a small, full featured all mechanical SLR, in the same league of its competitor like the Nikon FM2, Olympus OM-1 or Pentax MX.
I know that the AE-1 hit around that time and is small and nice but it also has an electronic shutter… So which could be the smallest mechanical Canon SLR?

How to access bulb mode on Nikon D5200?

When setting the shutter speed on the screen there is a circle with different speeds and there is a "b" mark which stands for bulb mode but when I scroll it wont select it it stops just before the "b" mark… please tell me if there are other settings I must set in order to select bulb mode and make long exposure photos. Night club photos- coving a shift with no experience!

I've just been asked to cover comes work in a bar/nightclub taking photos. I do take photos, but just in general, but thats why i was asked as i know my friend whos shift im covering. Would a picture be sharper with a better lens?

I got Nikon D5200 (24 mega-pixels), but my pics aren't as sharp as I want them… I need a really sharp pics, really detailed… do I need to change a body or lens? And yes I set my camera properly!!! if you're gonna say lens tell me which exactly, same if you're gonna say body… I make urban photos mostly and nature landscapes.

I like to do nature photography with available light. I really do not do many portraits, so I do not need the best one out there. I would like to get a Nikon one, but the only one I can afford is the SB-400.
The SB-400 does not have the functions I want like swivial and stuff.
Does the flash have to be set off by the on camera flash?
I want it to just talk to the camera. Not wait for the cameras flash then go off.
I hope I'm making sense. This the only photography question that has stumped me.
Will this flash just let me put it on the hot shoe and will set it's self up?

Well, almost everyone I know has it, I don't want to be a loser and don't have one. Like when I did have facebook I only got 14-18 likes on my photos.does that matter? cause I was always scared that when I did have facebook everyone was going to say something like '' you only have a little likes on your photos'' but I know a lot of people i'm getting a Nikon camera soon in the summer for my Graduation present, so I just really want to know like, is it important to have likes on your photos? or who cares? some people I know are really pretty and usually they get somewhat so many likes but some photos they only have 1 or zero likes, does it matter about the likes? and can someone explain to me how to get more likes on a photo thanks.

Looking for a lightweight dslr like the Nikon d3200?

I love the feel of the Nikon d3200 and how it doesn't feel heavy when I am holding it in the air. But shops are limited in what you can try and test in this area so I need a little advice on a lightweight DSLR similar weight but good quality in a low price bracket. Unfortunately I'm unable to afford the high spec ones. I like the features of the canon cameras! But I like the speed nikon take the photo so all my fast moving pictures aren't blurry. I think there's a weather proof canon no? Is that as heavy as a normal DSLR or is it lightweight like the D3200. I have arthritis in my wrists which is the reason I need lightweight. And I am growing out of my Nikon 1. Time to upgrade. Thanks
Added (1). Hi! I would like to add that I do know what a viewfinder is! But I also know that you have the choice of using either the viewfinder or the screen. I also know that canon do a touch screen that you are able to move around so when I am trying to take photos of the racing motor bikes as they're coming down a hill from over a wall I am able to do so. People use cameras for many different types of photography Edwin so maybe you need to learn that some people won't be just using it by looking though the viewfinder. Unless you wanna try that on a motorbike race…

Why wont the len's work for my Nikon D70?

I have a Nikon D70 i inherited from my uncle.It came with its normal lens, but also a Tameron AF 28-200mm LD lens, a Phoenix 100-400mm AF zoom lens, along with a few others. But whenever I attach the lens to the camera to use, it refuses to shoot a photo. I cant figure out why. They mount just fine. But refuse to take a picture. I found the manuals for the camera and the Tameron lens but its not seeming to help.Am I missing a button or something I'm supposed to push? I have a canon that I use regularly but I wanted to start practicing with the Nikon. I am majoring in photojournalism and hoping to do action photography.It'd be nice to use the lens, or practice with similar telephoto lens, but i cant make it work. Help!

How to Proccess RAW files on Adobe Photoshop Elements 9?

I got a new camera and it's a Nikon and i had a Sony before… I had the plug in to edit the RAW files with that camera on my photoshop. Which F-Stop should I use?

I am using a Nikon FM-10 35mm SLR Film camera with a 35-70mm f/3.5-4.8 Zoom Lens. I am going to be taking pictures of my boyfriend and I (portraits) as well as some landscape shots. All of these will be taken outside. The weather is calling for mostly cloudy and I have 400 Speed Kodak Ultra Max film. I was wondering which F-Stop to use on my camera? I want to have a low enough number so I can let in enough light and have my pictures turn out. Would 5.6 be alright?

Nikon D5100 focusing issues - intermittent problem?

When this happens I thought I'd try to switch to manual on the lens, but I can't the toggle button will not budge. Also, I get either r08, r24, r200 showing up on the bottom right of the screen.My card was empty, lighting was great. I got the camera end of January, and all was well until the beginning of March. I reset the settings to the how they would have been when I first bought the camera, but this didn't help. I have read this a buffering thing, but why now and not before. I am using the same card I always did. Just want to know if it's some setting or if I need to bring it to the doctor?

I need to know the best equipment to produce hi-quality short films, music videos, documentaries, promos and mini movies.

Nikon Camera Lens For Nikon D40?

I have had the Nikon D40 for several years now. I have the 55-200mm lens as well as the 18-55mm lens… The 18-55mm is jammed so I no longer use it. The problem is that I am having a really hard time taking clear photos for outdoor high school football games. The pictures turn out so blurry when the sun goes down. I can only use the 55-200mm lens like I said but was wondering if there is just not a lot I can do with the Camera I have or is there a lens I could by that might be better for outdoor football action shots. I also do some photography on the side for senior, newborn, and family portraits. With my 18-55mm being jammed, it makes photographing the portraits difficult at times. Any suggestions? Should I try getting my 18-55mm fixed or buy a new one or should I buy a different lens or even camera?

Good quality D3100 compatable camera mic?

I want to buy a good microphone to use with my Nikon D3100 camera, but I don't know what are considered good mics for certain types of things, or like what the difference between condenser mics and the other type are, or what would be the best choice in type of mic and brand. I have a Nikon D5100. I want to have the settings setup as Fine and Large which means each file will be about 10MB's big. How many of these 10MB jpeg's can get burned to a DVD?
