Best nikon lens for close-up baby pictures?

Right now i have a a film camera, the nikon F80 and i wanted to buy a lens to take pictures of my newborn baby, and i can't spend too much either.i was wondering if a 25 or a 35mm would do it?

Do I zoom with the camera or do I have to adjust the lens manually?

I'm a newbie and just bought my first DSLR. I'm confused on how to use my zoom lens. First, let me say I bought the Nikon D5200 with the 18-55 mm kit lens. I have been trying to figure out how to zoom the lens and I'm just not sure if there's a way to do it automatically with the camera or if I have to adjust it manually. I am learning as I go, but this will help a lot if I can figure this one thing out. Any help is greatly appreciated!

How much could I sell a Nikon 3100 for?

I have a Nikon 3100 that is barley used.No scratches or anything! I used it probably 4 times. I have a larger lens that I got with it and bought the whole thing for 780 at best buy. How much could I sell it for on perhaps eBay or Craigslist? Thanks!

I am a beginner photographer and was looking at a couple of Photography magazines for interviews with professionals, tips, tricks, new stuff, etc.

I am a Nikon user, and I know they have a magazine… so maybe that one? I know there are many though.

Am I expecting too much out of my DSLR (D5100)?

I'm a new photo enthusiast who has done (what I thought) to be extensive research before buying a DSLR. After hours on and off of reading, I bought the Nikon D 5100 (Little did I know it has slow shutter speed with flash on, but that's entirely different entire that's irking me) because it fit my price range and had all the capabilities I needed to begin environmental portrait photography (purchased the Nikor 55-200mm VR).

Here's the issue: I don't think the images are nearly as sharp enough, even though the "Fine" and "Large" image settings are permanently set before I take a photo.It's funny that this is a problem I would NEVER think I'd have with a DSLR. Before buying them, I found some DSLRs TOO sharp to the point where you can almost count the pores in peoples' skin and that was not flattering to me. Now it seems I have the opposite problem.

When comparing my DSLR sharpness for my awful point & shoot I had prior, I can barely spot a difference. Are these images sharp in DSLR standards to you? Am I expecting the impossible?

And like my point & shoot, the image is blurred with any kind of movement from the subject, even at 1/200 shutter speed.

Nikon D5100 & AF-S DX NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G?

If i purchase the AF-S DX NIKKOR 50mm f/1.8G will this fill the space for my Kit lens which is AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G VR (3.0x) or should i still need the kit lens, I know 1.8G doesnt have any zooming still i want to make sure about the distance covered by the kit lens?

Selling my camera, and buyer wants the original receipt.

my only concern is that i used my debit card to make the camera purchase. (personal information) from future shop.

and im assuming he wants it for warranty purchases but all you need is the serial number and nikon can find anything out.

Nikon d3200 problems? - 1

I just bought a Nikon d3200.the camera seems to work great im just having two problems. I got two lens's and the 55-200mm lens wont work, when I try to use it it says no lens attached even though it is (properly), and also I got a speedlight but I can not get it to slide on, This is my first dslr so im not sure if its me or the items

any info/advice would be appreciated!

I also got a 18-55mm lens and it works perfectly fine.

I was playing with it some more and with the 55-200mm lens it will allow me to take photo's in manual without the pop up flash, but in auto it still says no lens attached?

also for the d3200 is it normal for it to fall asleep fairly fast?
