Which bridge camera?

Hi!

I am looking to purchase a new bridge camera. Currently I have a nikon l320. Bottom line I can't stand the camera. It takes forever to take the picture the quality is horrible, etc… I was looking at the panasonic lumix fz70. I like the wide zoom and quality. The only question I have is, I would use this camera a lot for school events and need something capable of a fast shutter Speed. Is this a good camera? If not so what are other options for no more than 300$ thanks all

How to hold open the shutter on a nikon D3100 from a mac?

I would like to do a star trail shot as demonstrated here (http://www.exposureguide.com/night-sky-photography-tips.htm) but the maximum shutter speed is 30 seconds. Is there any way to remotely hold opn the shutter for a longer period of time from my computer so i don't have to hold the shutter button myself?

What camera would be best? Camera recommendations?

Hi there! I'm going to New York and Germany/Austria and I really want to have a good camera to take pictures and I have a couple questions about it!

1.) What kind would be best? Like DSLR or Point & Shoot? Or something else?

2.) What brand(s) are best?

3.) I guess I wouldn't mind paying a few extra bucks for a good camera, but what ones are good for a budget?
