Nikon FG shutter release is stuck?

OK so I always take out the batteries when I'm not using the camera in order to preserve them and without batteries it only works in M90 or B speed/mode. So it was in 1/2 or 1/4 and I forgot that there weren't any batteries. When I pushed down the shutter it got stuck. Normally all you have to do to unstuck it is to take it M90 mode. I did but nothing happened. I put the batteries in and still nothing. It seems to be permanently stuck. Please Help!

What type of camera do these artists' use?

I was inspired by the artist's on this website to buy a dsrl camera:

http://www.tokyofaces.com

This will be the first dsrl camera I own and since I am new to the camera world, I don't know which one to buy.

I am stuck between a Canon Rebel T3i or T5i and a Nikon D5300. I really want a camera that can take good pictures outdoors, has a movable LCD screen, and takes nice quality video. Which camera is the best for what I want and does it look like these artists' used a Canon or a Nikon?

Thank you in advance for your help

Nikon 1J1 only shoots in QuickTime?

I have a Nikon 1 J1 and I record video quite a bit, but I can't seem to figure out why it will only shoot QuickTime files. I was under the impression, it could shoot RAW. I've gone through the settings many, many times. Maybe I was wrong and it can only do QuickTime? Also when ever I turn off the camera and turn it back on it always starts up in the language settings, which is pretty fricking annoying.

Old Flash New Camera: Trigger Voltage for the Nimslo Opti-Lite / Nikon / Fuji X100s?

Hello, I recently bought a Nimslo Opti-Lite external flash, (comes with the Nimslo 3D film camera). I am aware that many old flashes are dangerous to use on new electronic cameras because of excessive trigger voltage. The cameras I intend to use it on are my Nikon D7000 and Fuji X100s. I have heard Nikons can handle a decent amount of trigger voltage, (some where around 6v) and also recall the X100s having a bit less (around 4), that is if I remember correctly. I know you that I can buy a flash voltage protecter but would not want to if I do not have too.

Primarily interested with Dual Flashes, I was also looking into lights like the Nishika Twin Light 3010 and the Albinar 100MDT-Twin Bounce Flash.

I have an old flash cable and was also wondering if I were to use that, would it alter the voltage the camera receives, making it safer.

I also have a pair of wireless speed lights and was wondering if the old flash could somehow damage the receiver that it's plugged onto?

If anybody can give me any information about voltage for the Nimslo, the Albinar, the Nisika, other similar flashes, voltage protectors, alternative solutions, etc… I would really appreciate it!
Added (1). I really appreciate all the help so far from everyone! Thank you very much for all of the advice and suggestions. I will definitely look into buying a voltage reducer and will also try to test the voltage on the Nimslo.

Thanks Again!

Olympus Stylus 1050SW shutter speed?

I got the Olympus Stylus 1050SW over a year ago, And I honestly love this camera. I wouldn't even trade it for a Nikon D7000 that's how much I love it. True, the lack of interchangeable lenses bugs me, and its slow auto focus annoys me to no end, but I still love it. Now, I've really been into trying to capture "flowing water", when the photograph shows that sort of motion blurred water over a clear and still background. The only problem is, my camera is either unable to change shutter speed or I haven't found out how yet. I've looked in my owner's manual but it doesn't mention shutter speed once. Does anyone know if it's even possible to change the shutter speed?
Thanks for your help.n__n

How to blur background for Nikon D3100?

I'm new to photography, so I was wondering. On the Nikon d3100/d5000 how do you blurthe background? When I tried it out, I couldn't blur the background when I was manually focusing, OR autofocused.
