Is the Nikon j2 worth the price?

I want to upgrade from my current point and shoot (which is about 4 years old) but I also have a SLR (cannon rebel xt 350d, which has been around for over 5 years) I was looking into the Nokin j2 because I loved its look, saw some really great reveiws about it, most of all, it's like a point and shoot and an SLR combined, and is nice and small. (which is the main thing I'm looking for: a camera of great quality, but one that's nice and small. Now, I'm wondering it it's worth its $500 plus price. If not, are there any other small, great quality cameras that I should look into instead?

Taking sport shots using Nikon D5100?

I've been asked to take photos using this camera at our school's basketball game. I've taken still shots using it but am really confused as to how to take action shots of the players. Can anyone give me advice on what to do?

Photography Website Help!

Being a photography obsessed person, I have now wanted to start a website. I'm not looking for a facebook page to start, I just want a page that I can start putting photos on for some of my followers. Yes, I'm not that professional yet, but I', m getting there. I'm not just using a stupid compact camera, I'm using my favorite camera in the whole world: The Nikon D3200. Also used with every lense possible.So, links would be apprecated! Remember, I want to start a website.

DSLR shutter/aperture settings for different focal lengths?

I'm getting confused with my Nikon DSLR shutter/Aperture settings in manual mode.

So the longer the focal lenth, the higher the shutter speed the higher you need the aperture?
e.g. 200 focal lenth shutter 1/4000 F3.2?

So if somebody is running fast in the dark, I would set the f2.8 and shutter 1/1000 ISO 1600
but will the focal length of my lens affect this?

I need like a more precise chart eg: in door concert this setting…
out door football game this setting …
Night time out door portrait …

If Im shooting a concert and zoom in to 50 mm can I leave the settings to f2.8 1/125 ISO 1600
as it's dark and the musicians are moving fast? if I zoom back to 135mm would I have to change the settings again.

I have the Nikon D3200
what setting would be best for shooting photos of snow, possibly getting the snow flurries in the photos, and if not, what would just give the best quality photo?

How to turn off the LCD screen of the nikon 3000?

I purchased a D3000 because I liked nikon image quality & was taken by its striking exposure control. Sadly, I have come to think of it as a dog for number of reasons. Most frustrating is not being able to turn the LCD screen off.It makes the cameraman but useless at night or in low light, because off the dazzle of the LCD. ANY IDEAS BEYOND DUCT TAPE???

Is nikon's Nikkor 50mm 1.8G a worthy buy?

So I already have the 35mm 1.8G which is great glass, now im looking for 85mm 1.8G to complement it but i find it too expensive for now, as an alternative im planning to buy the 50mm 1.8G instead, but is it really necessary to have one if I already have the 35mm? will it make a big difference? btw im into portrait photography right now, any opinion is greatly appreciated.will i buy it or not?
