Why won't my Camera photos upload to the computer?

I have a Nikon Camera ..
Before today It would upload the photos to the computer with a plug in about 5 seconds.
But for some reason I plugged it in today and it won't let me upload any, It says "USB Device not recognized". And I've re plugged it whole lot, it still won't work.

Any suggestions?

Good Nikon Camera That Can Film In HD?

I'm looking for a Nikon camera that can film in 1080p HD and it has to have the option to manually focus, preferably a focus ring but that's not that not much of a big deal. Any ideas?

Gary Fong Lightsphere vs Rouge Flash Benders? (shadow problem)?

I'm using GF's Lightsphere and like it but the only problem is when I tilt my camera vertical, I see the vivid shadow on one side of the model, however all horizontal shots are shadowless.Is there a way to avoid the shadows? I'm using a Nikon 24-70 and D90.

Also, can Rouge Flashbender shoot without shadows? How does it work?

DX lens on a DX body. Will crop factor apply?

I want the answers a simple to understand as possible. Here's my doubt.
I have a Nikon D5100 and that's a DX camera. I have a 18-55 mm DX Lens.So will this DX lens on D5100 equivalent to 27-82.5mm? or the same 18-5mm because it's a DX lens?
Will the crop factor apply to any lens used on D5100 whether it's DX or FX.

How to convince my parents to buy me a camera?

Okay, so I REALLYYY want the Nikon 1 j1 and I told my mom, but thinks $300 is an outrageous price for a camera. If you buy it online from Walmart, it costs $300 but if you don't, it costs $350-500.My mom HATES buying things online, she always feels like theyre going to steal money from her debt card -.- I would earn the money, but I don't think anyone would hire a 13 year old. There's rarely any places that let me volunteer. I graduate middle school in June and I want this as my graduation present. I rarely ask my parents for anything, but I really need this. I would ask my grandpa, but I think that's too much and I almost never see him. Any suggestions? P. s.my mom will probably tell me to just work around the house so she can save money but I think that's pretty pointless because either way, it's still her money.

NIKON D3100 built in flash wont pop up?

My built in flash wont pop up when i want to take a picture but flash itself is working.when i press the button to take a picture flash goes off but doesnt pop up. After I open it manually with my finger it smells like something is burning. Thanks for help

Outdoor Group Photography for Family Reunion. Help!

I have done quite a few photo shoots but nothing like this! I am shooting a family reunion for 200+ people! Insane! I will probably be using a Nikon 12-24 f/4 … And will probably bring a ladder… I have an sb-600 flash but was wondering if other lighting is suggested? Would a nikon 18-55 lense be enough for a team photo shoot?

Im doing my first photo shoot. Ive been doing senior portraits and family portraits for over a year and have no problem there but I was approached to do a team shoot and there is good money in that so im giving it a try.My only question is should I rent a wider lense or just stick with my 18-55 lense because there are only 12 girls on the team… and maybe 2-3 coaches that doesnt make for a very large group. If you think my kit lense is not enough can you please recommend one that might do it? I can rent alot of different lenses from my local camera shop.thank you!

What kind of zoom will you get on 300mm lens on crop sensor?

I have 75-300mm lens.what kind of magnification will i get on crop sensor.this is a canon lens, so assuming a canon crop sensor on canon camera. I was told it would be 480mm. But what i am interested in is in times. Like i have nikon binoculars with zoom from 8 times to 24 times.it is really good zoom on binoculars.also have 12 times zoom on panasonic cam corder.these are good zooms.
I want to know what kind of zoom will 480mm lens will equate to in those specs like on binocular and cam corder. Sony bridge cameras also have zoom in times.
Second question is, if i get a spacer for that lens, 70-300mm, what kind of zoom then will it be? Will a picture still be usable with a spaces, because there would be less light i presume.

Professional photographer here looking to step up from iphone camera?

Okay so I'm a pro photographer. I've been shooting with my iphone for like 3 years so I know everything.

I've narrowed down my choices to these cameras

A Nikon D4 a Nikon D3000 a Canon T5i a Sony W710 or the new iphone 5. I have pentax lenses I can use on all of these cameras. You just jam them on right?

I also want to shoot in 1080p film and need some good film to put in my digital camera, I tried to put HD film in my iphone but wound up electrocuting myself. I tried to call up apple but I couldn't because the HD film was still stuck in my iphone.

I also need HD memory film for my pictures.

Who makes good HD films these days. Does Craftsman and Staples make good HD memory film.

This question is obviously fake. I just posted it because of all the brainless questions people have been asking lately.

How to record HD on Nikon d3100?

I have a nikon d3100 I film HD and when i watch them on the computer its on HD too I use ASV to edit the videos and when I upload them to youtube the quality says 480p it doesnt give me the HD choise. How can i change that?

i am an amateur although quite enthusiastic photographer and have the heard the phrase DSLR mentioned a lot

i know what it means but not if it means a top notch camera, lousy, or somewhere in the middle

I am very confused about which camera?

I am amateur and I would like to but a good camera.At first I thought that Sony DS CH200 would be great for me, because it was 20 mp. But then I watched some reviews and changed my mind. After that I saw Nikon L820, but again I read some comments and everyone was saying that it is very easy to use. Sigma EF 500 DG Super flash?

Help troubleshooting Sigma EF 500 DG Super flash on a Nikon D3200. The flash wont go off. But it works (as it flashes when i test it [pressing "test" button]. Tried it on manual settings, wont work.

How to convince my parents to buy me something?

I want a Canon or Nikon camera that is around $350-$500 dollars. The one I really want is the $500.
I love photography and want to start making YouTube videos, so I need a good quality camera.
My dad thinks $300 is outragous for a camera but all my other $200 end up breaking (not by my own doing) and I want one that will last. I'm graduating middle school in June, so I'm planning on asking my grandma (she likes to spend her money since she has a lot) if she will buy me one as a graduation present.

I live in FL and in May my whole class is going on a field trip for a week to Washington D. C. and I want the camera in time to bring it there so I can take pictures. Thanks(:

I live with my dad (my mom passed away a year ago from cancer) and we are moving in a few weeks so he doesn't have a lot of money for me as he has already spend $200 on clothes for me for that week in D. C. I want this camera by the end of the month so I can't really earn enough money in that amount of time.
Added (2). My dad actually told me to ask my grandma because she's always willing to get me something just he wasn't sure she would buy me a camera for that price.

In Florida most jobs you must be 15 or 16 to even volunteer let alone be hired.

What is the right lens for me?

I have a Nikon D3100 and currently still have the kit 18-55mm lens. However, lately I have been looking into other options of lenses since I am branching out.
I'm going overseas for the summer, and so that means I'll be carrying my camera around a lot, and having a slightly lighter lens than the 55mm would be fantastic, as well as being less bulky.

I've been looking at prime leses, both 50mm and 35mm.

Obviously I take a lot of shots while I'm traveling and being active. I do not take a lot of low-light shots, which is why I'm nervous about buying a 35mm. About 80% of my shots day-to-day are macro.

So basically I want a light weight, macro friendly Nikon lens. Any suggestions in this area would be greatly appreciated.

Why can't I shoot in lower f stops (must b on f22) on my?

The camera (Nikon D3000) forces me to lock the lens (older AF Nikkor 35-135 mm lens) on the highest f22 stop for it to shoot. I realize the camera is a DSLR, and the lens, while in brand new condition, is around 20 years old. I focus manually and I thought I would be able to set the aperture manually as well, but like I mentioned, the camera will not shoot unless the lens is locked at the highest f22 stop.Am I missing something or is this it? Is nikon D5200 enough for making feature films?

I would like to make a feature film with nikon d5200 1080p after watching the mark iii and d5200 comparision on eoshd.
Previously many feature films made by canon 5d mark ii. Now I would like to do the same with d5200.
But is d5200 1080p really enough to make feature films?
What is the screen resolution in indian cinema theaters? and in IMAX?
I would like to release the movie in theaters in india which are using ufo/cube technology.
If d5200 does not support for thetrical release, let me know which one I should use?
My budget is definetly not with RED cameras.

Why are my Nikon D5000 pictures dark outside?

I have a Nikon D5000 that I just purchased and it takes great pictures, when it's bright outside. Unfortunately, once it gets even slightly cloudy, the pictures begin to come out very dak. I have the shutter speed at 200 (for sports) and the ISO cranked all the way to 2500. Then I set the aperture to 4.3, and the pictures are still dark. The flash isn't on, because it wouldn't do me any good from so far away. I've used other people's cameras and they work so well that it makes it look even brighter than it really is outside. What am I doing wrong here???

What lenses fit the nikon D4?

Well I have tickets to a Smackdown house show & a RAW tv taping in November and i'm wondering what size camera I can take (to take photos only)

I know video cameras are prohibited/they'll get confiscated but I want to bring a camera like the size of a Nikon D80, a bit more professional since the last house show I went to my crappy digital camera got blurry pictures…

Here are the three cameras I am interested in:

I like #1 because it seems to be a great camera AND it comes in a bundle including a case and memory card (the camera is $169.99 alone). But I have never used Nikon & I am worried that picture quality will not measure up to the Canon brand.

And I just do not know how I would decide between #2 & #3. They are both the ELF models of the Canon but #3 is "ELF 130" and #2 "ELF 115 HS"..So #3 is the newer model?
And how much better is choice #3? (Assuming it is better by the $10 increase in price).
I do know that camera comes with Wi-Fi… but is that the only major difference?

Please help me pick and let me know any helpful info I should know when choosing a good point & shoot camera. Any links or personal use of these cameras will also be helpful for comparison.

Is autofocus always important?

I think that getting a Nikkor AF 50mm lens would be better than getting an AF-S one.
My camera doesnt have an autofocus motor.

I don't know how to get my Yongnuo flash to work on my Nikon D5100?

I bought a Yongnuo 560 mk2 external flash for my Nikon D5100 and when I put it on the hot shoe and take a picture the flash doesn't go off. I how do I get my camera to send the signal through the hot shoe to make the flash go off?

Using a flash off camera?

I have a Nikon D50. I am wanting to get a Nikon SB-700 as I have been told this would work well for me.

How do I use this flash ON camera? How do I take off the built in flash and put on the hot-shoe?

And, how do I use this flash OFF camera? Do I need to buy more equipment? What are my options and how much is it going to cost me? I'm a student, I only have about $500 to my name right now so I can't really afford anything really expensive. Just the flash itself will cost me just under 300.

Cracks on the camera lenses!

My AF-S NIKKOR 18-55 mm's lenses is cracked at the front.At the wording of 18-55 mm 1:3.5-5.6 G VR it cracked from about 0.5 cm before the word until the 1:3.5-5.6. Will this affect my camera? I'm not really sure how the crack appear. I just noticed it just now. I'm afraid it's broken. I tried to take some picture with it and it still works but just in case. Please help me.

The problem is it's a very grainy camera, the picture quality is not good at all I assume it would be just as bad if I uploaded the pictures to my laptop because the appear grainy on the little screen.
I have tried editing the settings, increasing the sharpness, brightness etc but the quality is like that of a youcam laptop webcam for colours or a little samsung snapshot camera.it has an lcd screen and 720pp video capture too

What can I do?
auto iso I think it's at 6400 but I can't find a setting to change it.
Some reviews say it's grainy but usually you can sort that out.

how can I take the grain off?
It's a very nice camera with normal price of £100 but I got it on sale for £60 in Argos.
What should I do? it's perfect in every other way.

It actually looks like it's the zoom on the camera and like it's slightly out of focus which is causing the problem I think it would take very nice pictures if someone could tell me how to sort it out?
Added (2). Yeah I know about the ISO problem but I did read the manual and it said 'ISO is auto' but the FN button has showed me I can change it wow okay playing with the settings from there is helping a lot :)

Solution req: Viewfinder in Nikon D5100?

Whenever I try to take pic with viewfinder, it focusses but didn't clicks? what could be the reason.when it is in live mode viewfinder is not active and vice versa. I use d5100 and my Lv is working perfectly but not with viewfinder.pls help me out. Some focus assist light is turning on and turning off but still not clicking.

Nikon 18-105mm lens? How is it?

So I'm thinking about upgrading from my kit lens to the 18-105. But after reading a LOT of reviews, I found that a lot of people complained about the plastic mount causing the lens to break. Has anybody had experience with this lens, and how do you like it?
Added (1). I used to own the 55-300mm, but it was just too much of a hassle. If you went to do things closer to you you'd have to switch to the 18-55, and then I'd have to switch back again for more zoom. Plus it was TOO heavy! So I sold that lens.

Having trouble importing videos to computer from Nikon camera?

I've taken some videos with my Nikon camera and I tried uploading them to my PC. They say they are uploading but I can never locate them on the computer after that and every time I plug my camera in, it tries to re-upload them.It never says there is an error when uploading them. What could be wrong? How can I get them uploaded? I need to get them on my computer and saved so I can get the space back on my card: P Thanks! I have a Nikon D3200

Stuck film advance lever?

I have a Nikon Nikkormat EL that my dad gave to me a few years back and I haven't used in a while. When I went to use it, the film advance lever is stuck.It will move from a closed to open position with no problem, but will not swing out to advance the film. I've fiddled around with it and replaced the batteries but nothing works. The frame counter is on S and I have no idea how to change it back to the beginning. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Nikon D5100 Black Pictures Issue.?

Hello all,
I am considering buying a Nikon D5100 today. I have done a lot of research and I think this is the perfect camera for what I need. However, I keep seeing consumer reports about a black picture issue. After 3-8 months of use some people report that the shutter becomes stuck. They will send it back to be fixed, only to have this issue happen again.

Does anyone know anything about this? Was it a 'bad batch' vs.a manufacture error.

Is it still worth purchasing or should I keep looking? Opinions?

Lenses and settings for pub gig photography?

I am a complete amateur but have enough knowledge and love shooting in manual mode etc. I have done some theatre photography with my kit lenses that came with Nikon d5000. Namely the 18-55mm and 55-200mm

However I purchased a afs 35mm 1.8 which I also love using for general stuff but I'm also considering the 50mm 1.8 too.

It's a small pub and I'm taking photos of a band. I cannot afford anything more than these lenses anyway so my question is will these be okay and recommend some good settings? Is it worth getting the 50mm too? I can afford it right now so is it a worthwhile addition to my kit???

Should I switch my Canon 60D to a Nikon D7100?

I REALLY am not liking my Canon 60D for several reasons. I am thinking about switching to a Nikon D7100 for these reasons.

- Better low-light performance (the 60D has noise even at ISO 400)
- More auto-focus points

These are my two main points. I want to do birth photography so need good low-light. But would this be a better investment? I don't have huge amounts invested in Canon so am open to the change but just want to hear the thoughts of others.

Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6 for Weddings?

I shoot with a Nikon D5100 and am looking into purchasing my first lens (aside from the kit lens of course). I am on a budget. The only telephoto lens I can afford right now is the 55-200mm lens, and I have shot one wedding before with a 18-55mm and a borrowed Canon Rebel and 70-300mm. I have just read that the 55-200mm is "horrible", "terrible", etc.for weddings and I'd like some input. Best Buy insurance plan for camera?

Bought a Canon rebel t2i from bestbuy at 649.99 almost a year ago.with that i got the one year insurance plan that covers any kind of physical damage to the camera. I recently broke it not too long ago and need to go back to best buy and see what's gonna happen but i just want some feedback from anyone that has worked at best buy or has knowledge on their insurance plans.the canon t2i has been discontinued and no longer in stock in stores as they moved on from that model and now the t3i matches the price i paid for my camera.would i get a canon t3i as a replacement from my t2i since my camera is no longer sold at best buy? would they try to fix the camera? i'm also done with canon, they are good cameras but just had a bad experience with it.also wondered if i could get a nikon or something similar of equal or less price from the store, it being a computer or something of that sort.or if i could get my money back or credit towards the store so i can buy whatever with the money i get back if i get back any money.feedback please?

What's the safest way to buy Nikon D3100 from Amazon.com?

I'm asking a friend to buy a Nikon D3100 and bring it for me from France but I don't know how to order it. I found this:

Camera reccomendations?

I am looking for a nice Milc camera, good for a begginer, cheapish at most i'll pay 900dollars, I want it to look something like the Leica m9 or the Nikon V1 or V2. I also want that little hole that you look through to see your picture you are taking. I think all Milc's are light but just incase not all of them are I would like it to be light. I will be taking pictures mostly.
So please do reccomend

Opteka Remote Shutter Release compatible with Nikon D3100?

I just bought a corded Opteka Shutter Release. This is it's Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XN4XJU/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#productDescription.
Though the title says it works with the Nikon D3100, I plugged it in (it was hard to do so) but it doesn't work. I attemped it on the Auto and Manual settings.It will not take shots, nor will it autofocus when half pressed. Any help would be appreciated.

Help with buying a DSLR camera?

My budget is $700 max with lens (ideally would like 650!!)
So this absolutely rules about the canon7d so please don't suggest that! I know it's just a little more but I'm 16 so a little is a whole lot! I would be using this camera for photography (duh… ) as well as video + just fooling around with (concerts)

I want a good zoom, but it's not a MUST I can always upgrade lens later
I also would like the screen to swivel out, it to be fairly new not something that will be outdated quickly because I plan on keeping this for a long while. I already looked into the Canon t4i but I'm just not ready to pull thr plug on it yet does anyone have any other options/opinions? How does canon compare to Nikon? Thanks so much! Xx

Okay, so I really wanna get the Samsung Mv900f, only because of the flip screen. But then again I want a Nikon too. The picture quality is amazing tbh. DSLR and HD on YouTube?

Hi there, I recently filmed a short clip of my pet with my Nikon D3100 and when I uploaded it to my computer and edited it, it was in HD but after I put it on YouTube the highest resolution was 480p but the quality seemed worse than that.

Is it to do with my internet speed, it was a 2 minute video but it took 80 minutes to upload?

My download speed is 13.34mb/s which is alright but my upload speed is a bad 0.74mb/s.

Exposure Issues on DSLR camera?

Hi, I have a Nikon D200 dSLR camera and 10.5mm f/2.8 fisheye lens.
I am currently reading a difficult book about the DSLR photography and I am confused.

Here is the thing. I just want to take a good picture in the following two cases.
Please advise how I control the settings; like f-stop, shutter speed, ISO, and etc…

(1) "Indoor photo of a living room with windows"
The living room is a little dark because it is indoor, and the view outside of the window is bright. I want to have details on both dark area and light area as well on the photo. I don't have a flash.

(2) "Indoor photo of a bathroom with light bulbs on"
The light from the bulbs are quite bright and it makes the light area too light and the dark area too dark on the photo.

I normally shoot Nikon for work, but I've got this T2I lying around and a friend of mine asked me to shoot some wedding rehearsal pictures. I am new to filters and am trying to determine what to get for my macro lens and everyday lens. If I added a +10 macro filter to a Nikon 40mm Micro close-up lens, would that give me a vignette? What about stacking a polarized filter on top of that?

I am looking to buy a new camera and i have decided that i want a DSLR. One of the main reasons i want a DSLR is for video, i don't want a video camera since i would still like to be able to take fantastic photos.

I've been looking at a few cameras, such as the Canon 7D, Canon 60D, Canon 650D, Nikon D7000 and possibly the new Canon 700D.
And a Sigma 30mm lens

I mean, talking about 35mm SLR's, we all have heard that all Cosina-made bodies are similar if not the same in terms of quality and features… However, from the ones I've had the chance to handle with my own hands, this is not always true… Let me put the Nikon FM-10, the Canon T60, the Olympus OM-2000, the Vivitar V3000 and the Yashica FX-3 as examples.As weird as it might sound, from all these bodies I've 'felt' the FX-3 to be the best one, followed by the T60 and the OM-2000 and perhaps the FM-10, leaving behind the V3000 for several reasons of 'weight'…

How to photograph the May 10th solar eclipse?

I have a nikon d3000 with a 70-300MM lense and tripod. I was wondering how i would take a picture of the eclipse and at what settings. Also do i need a Solar filter, some people say yes and some say no. I wont be looking at the eclipse directly.i will be setting up the camera before hand, put on shades then using a remote to snap a few pictures. Would that be possible, will it damage my camera?

Photography. How do I use an external flash?

So, I'm doing a school project, and I'm using an external flash. A vivitar 283 flash, to be precise. And, the teacher has not told us anything on how to use it, or what to do. Just, put it in the shoe, and start shooting. Now, I've looked everywhere on the internet, for how to use it, or how to use any external flash. I've had no luck. I also tried experimenting with it myself. And, that, unfortunately, didn't work. All of my pictures turned out completely white. Even when I turned the shutter speed up higher, to capture less light. That still didn't work. I turned the aperture down, and THAT didn't work. They still all turn out too white. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've also checked in the settings of the camera.It's a Nikon D3100.So, someone, please help me. I feel all alone!

Canon EOS 70d Announcement?

I'd recently decided to buy Nikon D7100, but I hear that Canon is gonna announce its new EOS 70d and it seems 70d may outperform D7100.
When will Canon release the 70d?
(If Nikon D7100 had a flipout screen, I would definitely choose it. But it doesen't and I think a flipout screeen is very essential for capturing video and taking photos from specific angles. That's why I'm thinking about considering Canon 70d in case it's announced soon.)

Is there such thing? Aand i mean manual as in the lens which are quite old, made of metal, have to set eh aperture - that kind of manual? I don't know if they ever made a zoom of 18-55mm (or similar) on those kind of lens? Or are they all just prim lens?

My yong rf-603n triggers are not firing my b400?

Need some guidance in dumb downed terms. I'm brand new to mono lights and have my old yongnuo triggers that'd I used to fire my yongnuo flash. I ordered and received my alien bees b400 and am now trying to fire it but the triggers don't seem to be working. The pc sync cord that the light came with isn't comparable with my Nikon d3200 so I can't simply just use that. I have the trigger on my hot shoe mount and it is connected to my camera. I understand that the light is built with an in sync motor to pick up most transmitters so I'm confused as o why its not working. Any help is appreciated.tgankyou!

A nikon lens for indoor sport, to stop blurring?

I have a nikon D5100, i currently use the basic lens it came with (18-55mm).
I take a lot of photos when me and my friends ride our horses in the indoor arena which has very poor lighting. The photos of the horses blur badly when the horses are doing more than standing still!
I'm not a professional or anything, but i'm just looking for something that will take decent, non-blurred pictures when cantering/jumping.
I have no idea what so ever the kind of price range these would be in so i may not be able to afford one, however my limit is around £200.
I wondered whether anyone could give me some more information or suggest any lenses i could do some research on (if it's even possible to buy any at this price!)

Best lens for the Nikon d600?

I am going to be purchasing a Nikon d600 and a lens or two to start with. (And taking a photography course.) Mainly for portraits, some landscapes and action/sports. There are so many lenses out there and I don't know where to begin. Are the lenses that come in the bundles good? Or should I buy something separate? This is the bundle that I am looking at: (Nikon D600 24.3MP DSLR Camera, 24-85mm VR Lens with 70-300mm Telephoto Zoom Lens) There are other bundles out there, and I just want to make sure I make the right decision. Amateur photographer needs opinions?

I'm an amateur photographer, 23 years old from Long Island. I have two children so I use the minimal spare time that I have trying to advance my photography techniques. I only started photographing a little less than a year a go. I have a Nikon d70 and two Nikon lenses. I started taking lessons from a pro several months a go. I'm short on cash so I can only afford to see him for an hour once a month. Please can some people view my photos and give me both constructive criticism, tips, compliments and inspiration. How to open the camera lens on nikon d3000 in maual mode?

Connected to a Celestron Nexstar 5SE telescope. D3000 says there is no lens attached in manual mode. Keeps lens at F4000. How do you bring the f stop down to 5.6? and keep the shutter open longer than a second or two? Thanks: Ray

Does it matter spend 7300$ for Nikon D3X while D5200 is 6500$ cheaper? I compared the main differences betwen both and it lands on the CMOS sensor size: 35, 9 x 24, 0mm (FX) for D3X and 23, 5 x 15, 6mm for D5200.

Is it really worth 6500$ in price for about 12 x 8 mm difference in sensor size?

Are there things i could achieve with D3X that i can't with D5200? I sincerely apologize if my question is too rookie, thats exactly what i am when it comes to professional photography.

Do I need to take the lense off my DSLR?

I got my first DSLR a month ago, a nikon d3100. I've shot with other DSLR's and took classes before but I never actually owned one so knowing how to treat and store them is my downfall.

I only have one lense, is it okay to leave it attached to the body 24/7 or should I keep taking it off to store it?

Tamron Lens good as Nikon?

I have seen them on ebay 18-200mm for £160 and Nikon 18-200mm for £550-600 and that's over price, expensive and wasn't sure if tamron is actually good company and trsuted? are they good for Nikon camera?

What should be the next camera I buy?

I am a amateur photography slowly building up to being a pro. I currently use a Nikon d70. I'd like to remain Nikon. I just want something better than the one I have, but nothing really, really expensive. Eventually, I can get something REALLY nice, but for now I'm still in my learning phase, I guess you could say. Also, lens suggestions.
I'm also going to be looking into upgrading my editing software. Right now I'm using a Correl program, but most probably will go to Photoshop. Any suggestions? Remember that I only want something basic for now, I can buy something really nice once I have more profit coming in.

Concert Photography/Buying a new DSLR HELP?

I've been trying to get into photography, especially concert photography.
Before you say anything I go to allot of indie alternative shows where they do let you bring in a DSLR, so that won't be an issue.

I'm a beginner so I'm looking for a starter camera, My choices right now are
- Canon Rebel XT that comes with only the 70-300mm lens, (note: that i will be very close to the stage if not right in front because I know the manager of the venue) I want to know if the 70-300 mm lens will do it's job or if i will be to close to even get a good shot considering I heard its a zoom in lens

-Nikon D40 with the original 18-55 lens that came with it,

I would love some feedback on which camera is better,
which one will do the job when it comes to indoor concerts, and tips about each of them, If you would like please suggest some other lenses, and advice when it comes to the ISO Indoors

I am a beginner so please don't say that I don't know what I'm doing, or that I should do my research, this is me doing my research and hopefully getting some feedback with people with experience.

Best SLR camera (UK)?

Hi, I'm looking to buy an SLR camera, this is the first time I've baught one myself, but have used friends cameras. I have been looking at the Nikon D5000 (can be baught in a package deal with the 18-55mm VR Lens for £464) Is this a good camera to go for. I have been told nikons are the best, there certainly seems a big price difference between this and the other one I looked at, the Canon PowerShot SX30 IS Digital Camera for £379!

I'd use the camera for the simple use of high quality photos, absract photography I'm interested in and I'm also looking to take part in a photography course in my spare time.Is this camera more for professionals? The nikon looks pretty user friendly but is it worth paying that much for a few extra gadgets that I may not even use? Would you recommend any other cameras?

I need to find a camera but not sure what type to get?

Good Nikon or Canon Camera?

I've always wanted a bulkier camera to take pictures with. I'm not a photographer so i don't need anything too big. I'm Only saying Nikon or canon cause i know that's what most people get.last camera i had was just a little bigger than a normal camera and had 18 zoom with i forget how many megapixels.(something happened and they couldn't fix it and i had to get another camera with the warranty)

-has to be from best buy (b/c i have some store credit)
-most i would spend would be is around $300
- has to have good zoom (good for concerts)

some may say you cant take cameras to concerts but I've checked with the ones I'm going to, i can. Leave me recommendations and or links. Thanks !!

Which camera to buy? - 1

I finally have enough cash to buy a camera and I'm utterly lost.
My first question:
What level of camera should I buy: entry, intermediate, or pro?
I know I want full manual, I want to be able to make my own presets (Canon) but I want a odd-bladed diaphragm (Nikkor).
FF or DOF?
Also, I'm hearing various things about Nikon-Canon lens compatibility. Some say that you can interchange and mix/match without any issues. However, I've also heard that there are issues with the mount so you have to use an adaptor thus messing up focus and focal length. Which is it? Because I would love a Canon body with a nikkor lens but only if it works well.

I have photography experience: I took a class last year and learned the specs and I've been told that I have a "good perspective", but I don't know if I could handle a pro camera, but I also don't want to be held back by an amateur camera especially when I advance to higher levels.

SO, main questions:
Entry level, intermediate, or pro?
Lenses: ef or ef-s and can nikkor be mounted onto canon with ease?
OH: and should I buy used or new? Used would mean I could buy an intermediate or pro, new would mean I could get a warranty on an entry level.Is it worth it to buy new? I don't really have a problem with losing/breaking things.

I'm thinking of buying a new camera.?

Right now I have a Canon Rebel Xt but I have had it for a few years now, and I think that I'm at a point in my photographic career where I should invest in a higher quality camera. I'm slowly saving up money, so it's not like I can just buy the most expensive camera out there.

Can anyone suggest a DSLR that I can make larger prints with, has video and is not the most expensive/newest one out there? If anyone suggests Nikon or other brands, that's not a big deal, but I'm already used to Canon so that would be my preference.

Which new DSLR to buy?

Im looking to buy a New DSLR. I currently have a Nikon D200, and Olympus Pen E-PL1. I know everyone is going to say stick with Nikon for the lenses I already have but also seen a great deal for a Canon T3i for 449 with the lens.Im wanting to stay under 1000.IM not new to photography. I am a photography student but do a lot of side work.

Which is better? Nikon v. Cannon?

I am a beginner in photography. I often take pictures with our Fuji camera and everyone tells me that I get awesome photos and many of my family members say that I should take photography classes and maybe do it as a "side gig." I want to get a little more experienced and my mom said that I can get one of these two cameras. I just don't know which one to get. I have heard that they are both very awesome cameras but which one would be better with me? I like to capture pictures of nature. I also capture pictures of children and I like to take pictures while they are playing and things like that.So something that can capture moment without the blurriness would be nice. Making a poster-sized print (24x36) - is this resolution enough?

I'm hoping to make a 24x36 print of an image taken on a Nikon D80
It's at 300dpi, and the file size is 3872 x 2592 and it's about 4.3 MB.
Should I try and increase the file size, or is this already good enough for a poster print? Thanks!

Best lens to use for a concert.?

To be more specific, I may or may not be going to a concert on 4/20, Rihanna to be exact. IF I do get to go, of course I wanna get some solid pictures using my Nikon D3100. I only have 2 lens to my name, the widely used 18-55mm and the 55-200mm.My main question is if I sit in the nosebleeds (which I kinda don't want to but hypothetically) and use the 55-200mm, will I still be able to get good pictures? Also, if hypothetically I were to sit near the back in the floor area of the venue, will I still get good pictures with either lens?

What camera would work for me?

I currently use a Nikon D50 with a Nikkor 18-200mm VR. I lovvee this lens… I mainly shoot pictures of my dog, dogs I foster, and other dogs that come through the rescue I work with… I have also recently gotten into outdoor portraits, and wildlife(wildlife is the main reason I got a lens that would go to 200mm, and some day I want a lens that'll zoom even further). Some day I'm going to get 1 or more off-camera flashes and start working with backdrops and all that. Some day!
I almost never use the on-camera flash.
My D50 just can't handle noise well. Any picture taken at an ISO above 400 has to be trashed because it is way too noisy.
I'm ready to upgrade my camera, and need one that performs very well at higher ISO's. I'm going to stick with Nikon. What would be the best Nikon camera body for me?
Added (1). Drew, I'm not overly concerned about price. I'll buy used.

Bag for DSLR - Please suggest?

It isn't reading any of my memory cards. I tried many cards and I keep getting "Cannot format memory card. Card maybe defective. Insert another card."

Nikon D7000 Frames per second promblem?

I have my Nikon D7000 set on continuous high and I think I have it set to take 6 frames per second, but when I press the shutter release button the camera only takes a single frame still. Any ideas of what might be over riding my settings or what I might be missing?

Hello! This summer I'm going to be traveling a lot, and I want to buy a good quality digital camera. Is it wise to buy a used DSLR from Amazon?

I'm planning to get a DSLR, Canon 5d mark 3 used or nikon d800 (new or used).
for example on Amazon, the seller wants to sell his Nikon d800 for 2400$ only. He wrote:
Used - Like New
Perfect condition, no scratches, no problems. Only used once indoors, took about 250 shots. Comes with all original accessories, manuals, packaging, box, etc. Includes unused warranty card. Only selling because I decided to stick with my d700.

i live in other continent, He's from the usa. How can i make sure that the DSLR is in perfect condition.

Camera Phone advice - need both - no idea what to get?

I wanted to ask you what you think I should get for a camera or camera/phone that would be small enough to pocket and be able to take quality landscape photos when horseback riding for example that are able to be enlarged (most likely larger than 11 x 15) and still maintain high resolution. I need the camera also to x be able to take pics of my bakery cakes that I make. Any suggestions, as I am not tech savvy at all. I don't want to buy too much camera but no limits either. I was worried that the low megapixels (under 3) in the camera phones wouldn't work for enlarging. Can't lug around a bulky professional one riding horses or too my job, and really need a new cell phone anyway.

Something important is speed - I have a nikon and a canon powershot, and they take way to long to take the picture and be ready to take another.

Dslr photography problem?

I use a nikon d5100 camera. When I viewed photos from the camera's LCD display, they looks well saturated, colourful and vibrant. However when viewed from a computer display they look somewhat dull with less saturation. I tried with several computer monitors as well as a LED TV display. But the result is the same. What will be wrong. I'm not an advanced photographer but I have a basic knowledge to handle a DSLR.Is it a problem with my photography skills and techniques? How can i overcome this problem?

Can you buy nikon compatible receivers for the SU 800?

I have a SU 800 wireless transmitter and a SB600 flash. I am looking for a cheap alternative so that I do not have to buy another Nikon flash. I have an old SB 24 and I was wondering if I could just put a receiver on that?
