Looking for the right nikon or cannon dslr around $400-600 help?

Quality and sensor size being a given, what is also most important for me is an articulating screen, speed and video performance. I know some about the cannon lineup but its hard for me to compare Nikon because I don't know much about Nikon. Around that price range what can you recommend? Thank you

I am a beginner at photography. Which camera should I choose?

Maybe this is a really vague question but i have 600-700$ and i want to choose the best camera for a beginner. So far i've looked at Nikon d3200 or d3300 series but some say 18-55m will not be sufficient and i might hurt the sensor or the lens. Can you help me narrow my options. Thanks.
