Would a 55-200 mm lens zoom much further than a 18-55?

Right now I have a 18-55 mm lens on my camera that came with it. I like to take pictures of aeroplanes that approach the runway and sometimes some close-ups, therefore, I am thinking about buying a new lens that can zoom further, and I've found a Nikkor 55-200mm lens. How much further does it zoom? Are there any other ones at a reasonable price? What is the difference about these two lenses?

Nikon d40x 10.2mp digital slr camera? are they a good camera!

I am considering buying a used Nikon D40x 10.2 megapixel digital SLR camera (kit 18-55mm) of a friend. I was just wondering if it is a good camera? Keeping in mind is is secondhand.Is it a good camera to take photos of people or does it make their flaws stick out? Is the quality good? Please someone??? :D thanks:)

Nikon d600 body good for wedding photography?

I have a 18 200 5.6 lens now and a sb 700 flash and around 2000 $ to invest for a body I be working mostly weddings should I buy the d600 r buy a cheaper not full frame body and invest in a nice glass? opinions? Thanks .

How to use Photoshop CS6?

I am starting a Sci-fi web series and I want to get all the photography done soon but I want to do it myself. I have a Nikon D50 and I want to edit the photos with Adobe Photoshop CS6 but I don't know how to use Photoshop yet. Are my photos too big?

Alright, so this is sort of my last resort. I use a Nikon d3200 camera and I want to put a filter from the iPhone app VSCO Cam on a photo I took yesterday. Everything goes fine until I try saving the filtered photo onto my camera roll- when I choose save as "FULL / MAXIMUM FILE SIZE", the app starts to save it but then shuts down! I can save the photo as "LARGE / 1024px", but it looks blurry when I do that! Can anyone help me please?

Nikon d50 problems! HELP!

HI! I just got a Nikon d50 from my step mom.It's old and has been used.when I hold down the aperture button and turn the dial to change the f-stop, it doesn't change.It's currently on 5.6 and will NOT change. Also The flash button doesn't want to work either. I don't know if I'm doing it wrong or something? And Just now when I tried to take a picture in the landscape setting it takes a picture really slowly. I would press the button, and it would stay closed for one second (I counted)
Should I take it into a Best Buy or something?
What should I do? Since I just got it!!!

I was wondering how the Sigma 70-300mm f/4-5.6 SLD DG Macro Lens fits the d5100? And if it does, how does it cooporate with the camera?

What makes my pixels unsharp?

I am using a Nikon D3200 with the stock 18-105 mm lens. I have noticed that I can't focus really precisely. If I take a picture of a structured surface at an angle, I can clearly see the limits of the depth of field, but even at its centre, the pixels are not really sharp, I can see a circle of confusion of about 5 px at the full resolution. See the image (F/5.6, ISO 100, 2s, f=66 mm, cropped):

Is that something a prime lens would solve, or a property of the chip?

How to choose my first Digital SLR camera?

I have been saving for my first 'proper' camera for 18 months and now have a (very top) budget of £500. I will be a complete beginner with this sort of camera, but have always been passionate about photography, and want a camera that I could take a course with to eventually use semi-professionally (snapping friend's weddings and family portraits for example). We are expecting our first baby in April so I plan to get as much practice as possible! I understand that an entry level camera can only take me so far, but which camera can take me the furthest?
So, where do I start? It appears my first decision is deciding between a Nikon or a Canon. For the kind of shots I have mentioned, which would be better? Which brand has the best or cheapest additional lenses for when I come to buy them?
I would appreciate any info or advice to help me decide!

Can I get a low profile DSLR shoulder bag recommendation?

I'm looking for a bag to hold my Nikon D3200 with lens, and two to three additional lenses, a flash, my iPad, and someplace to store a small tripod. I like the Naneu bags but they don't have a place to store a tripod. The biggest thing is that I don't want a bag that screams, "Camera Bag!", like a lowepro or caselogic bag would. Does anyone out there have a recommendation? And can we keep it under $150?
