The Nikon J1, if not, what else?

I am 13 years old, and I love taking photographs outside and nature shots. I need a new camera, and I have worked really hard to save up 500 dollars. I was looking online, and I saw the Nikon J1. I have no idea about cameras at all. I don't know what to look for, and whats bad.Is that a good camera? If not, can you suggest some?

I need a camera that is
-Light
-Portable
-Good Zoom
-Good outside
-Good megapixel

Zoom is very important to me. Since I love nature shots, I cannot get very close to animals. I depend on the zoom. Any cameras?

How can a 13 year old make $800 in about 1.5 years?

I'm looking to buy a Nikon D5100 and still have some money leftover, and I want to have it before high school.My mom and dad obviously won't splurge $800, so any ideas?

Is f/2 enough for night photography?

I'm planning to buy a new lens due to the fact that my two current lenses don't have a fast enough aperture for low light situations. I have a D90 and an F100 which basically means that i will need an FX lens that works on both cameras. I want a 35mm lens so it will be a 50 on my d90 and a 35mm on my F100. I was wondering if f/2 is a fast enough aperture for night and low light situations. Looking for old school SLR camera?

I saw from first hand an Nikon EM and i loved the split circle focusing screen and its semi-electro/mechanical too.

i want to find an equal film canon model if possible, i want all the canon slr's that have split circle screen and can work with or without battery's (just for exposure metering)

(beginner) Buying a dslr soon, a good idea?

Okay so I've done a lot of research and at last I think I'm going to get the Nikon d5100.

At first I wanted a dslr, but then I changed my mind to a mirrorless camera(because I like it's size and convinience) but then people start to change my mind about how it's not good, and personally I don't like the fact that it doesn't has a viewfinder too.So I looked again at dslr.

Now I've finally decided the Nikon d5100
But I'm scared I will end up with feeling lazy and awkward to carry that big, bulky thing to a lot of functions and eventually wasted my money on buying a dslr?

Plus, I'm a kinda shy high school student who is going to college next year, and I'm afraid that if i carry that camera around college next year, i will gain the reputation as a show off or something bad? Am i thinking too much?

Good camera for Nature/Outdoor photography?

I am on a 500 dollar budget.

I need a good, light, portable camera that has good zoom and is good outdoors. I am going to Costa Rica over Spring Break. I was thinking the Nikon J1, but it has bad zoom. I would prefer a compact system camera. Any suggestions?
