Can I tether my Nikon 1 J3 to my macbook pro?

I want to film videos with my Nikon 1 J3 with a 1 NIKKOR 18.5mm f/1.8 lens which has a good bokeh effect to it. But I need some way to focus it. Is there any way I could tether it to my computer like they do with the DSLR cameras?

How much should I charge for taking pre-prom photos?

My friends are going to prom except for me so they've asked me to take photos. I don't know everyone in the group, just two of them. There's going to be ten couples (20 people) and it will take place at two locations. (Her house and under a bridge). No backdrops will be used. I will be using a Nikon d800 with my 50mm f1/8 and 24mm f2/8 lens. Tips and suggestions?

How do Canon and Nikon compare?

I am 14 and I really love photography so I am getting a Digital SLR. Could anyone give me some advice on which brad and model?

I am tossing up between Canon and Nikon and I need a camera that is good for a beginner but that wouldn't limit me as i am planning on learning new skills, taking courses, etc. Something under $600 (AUD) would is what I'm looking at, but I am going to Hong Kong soon, so I can get one cheaper there or in Duty Free.

If you could give me an un-bias opinion on both brands and tell me which you prefer as well as narrow down the model options and possibly recommend one in particular, I would be ever so grateful.
Added (1). At the moment I am leaning towards Canon as they have a good website and provide good courses, competitions, etc. What do you think of this?
Added (2). Also, what features are some of the most important that I should look out for in a camera.
Added (3). I will be using it to take creative photos of things around me such nature and the city in the day and night (so a camera that takes good pctures of city lights) as well as my family, friends and dog. I will take it on holidays as well in city environments and more 'wild'/natural environments.
I just want to be able to do great photography out of what I see everyday and learn new skills to do so.

Please suggest me which DSLR to buy?

I want to buy a DSLR budget around 40k. I have visited a shop and shopkeeper tells me about the specifications of Sony Slt A58M(18-135MM), he strongly recommends me to buy this camera. But Nikon and Canon are two major camera manufacturers. I am bit confused between sony slt(18-135mm) DLSR and canon 600D (18-135mm). Don't know much about distinguishing features of photo quality, fps, sensors of both.
Anyone who used or had a experience of it, please suggest me which one will be better. Thank you

Maximum SD storage of a Nikon D5000 DSLR camera?

I currently have an 8gb micro SD card that I'm using with my Nikon D5000 and was considering upgrading to a 64gb. I heard somebody say that the D5000 might not be able to read the 64gb card, and has a maximum limit of reading cards. Is this true?

Nikon L829 in plum or black?

So I've decided to get the Nikon L820 for my birthday and it comes in a deep plum or black. The plum is slightly more expensive but looks really nice. Whereas the black is much more classic and I like that too. So really I'm just looking for opinions on which colour to get:) thanks for any answers.
