Nikon d3100 external light?

Is there a external light I can buy, not like a flash. Almost like a flash light so I can shoot something in the dark. Anyone know if there is one or where I can get one?

Nikon fe film camera shutter problem?

I have an old nikon fe and have been trying to get it working, but when I tried to take a picture the shutter was not open nor would open, I took the lense off and saw the foam arounnd the mirror had decayed and that it was sticking, I researched that could be the problem so I covered the sticky are with cello tape on the mirror and the area above (obviously not covering the mirror) then I realized there is a metal switch in the left that moves up when then mirror comes down, and the only way to keep the mirror down was to manually push this lever up, then when the lens is on you can see through, but when I press the 'take' button it goes back up but not back down.
Could anyone shed any light on what is wrong with it and whether it can be fixed?

Nikon D3100 Cable to show live filming on computer?

I have a Nikon D3100 and I was wondering if there is a cable or method of showing what I am filming on my computer while I am filming. If the camera is pointed at me, I cannot see the screen and therefore am not sure if the focus is right or if the framing is even right. Thanks

Nikon Cool Pix Camera is not registering with the computer anymore?

I had the camera plugged in moving pictures to the computer and then I took it off to take a couple more pictures and plugged it back in no more then 3 minutes later and it no longer will register?

Any ideas as to what I can do? *Tried taking out battery and card. Restarting computer. And "re-opening" the "My Computer" part MANY times hoping it would pop up…

What exactly does the term max resolution mean?

I've heard people request to have images uploaded to their sites at the max resolution. Does really just refer to how big the image is. I shoot with a nikon D90 and export from lightroom at highest quality, largest size, and image resolution at 240. The jpeg files on average are from 5 to 9 megabytes. How large can a photo with these specs be printed and still look great? Do the settings need to be adjusted according to use e.g. print and web?

Which lense to buy for portraits? for nikon d3100?

I have nikon d3100 cam. 18-55 default lense.My portraits were appreciated and many times i've be invited by frnds to shoot their special days. Having a request for wedding shoot next week. Its just fun, not very professional but as i was getting many requests lately, i thought i should get a better lense (leave aside the cam thought for now). I could spend around 10-20000. Suggest me a lense for portraits. And any do's and dont tips while buying it?
(bonus: if u can suggest anything for betterment of my portrait shoots especially during wedding)

What do these numbers mean at front of my two cameras?

Samsung camera: 3.9 - 58.5mm 1:3.2-5.8

Nikon camera: 4.5 - 81.0mm 1:3.5 - 5.9
Added (1). Does it mean that the samsung camera has wider angle and lets more light in in dark situation (for existing light photography)?

Maximum noise reduction with Nikon D3000?

I've slowly been learning how to use my D3000 properly after 2 years of point-and-shoot in auto mode, and I particularly enjoy night time or sunset/evening photography. I'm just wondering if anyone has any tips for achieving the maximum possible noise reduction with this camera? My lenses say 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 and 55-300mm 1:4.5-5.6 (if that helps?)

Tonight I was practising with some night time shots and I had changed my ISO to 100 (and used my tripod), is this pretty much all I can do? The noise wasn't terrible but since I was capturing moonlight through clouds etc, it was really noticeable.

Any tips would be appreciated!

How to get a hong kong scammer to just stop!

So were in gong kong, I'm 13, and I've saved up for a nikon d5100.As soon as we got there and I was ready to pay he takes two pics, one with the d5100 and one with the canon t3 rebel. The rebel was noticeably better. But I did my research and I remember seeing that the nikon is better.Sl he says buy the canon, but it's 2000 HKD more expensive but it's worth it. Of course my dad starts saying that I'm blind if I think that the nikon is better. When I continuously refuse the canon, even after my dad is pissed at me, he starts "recommending" the d3100 and d5200 both which are worse and he's telling me to get them for way too much. But my dad gets all mad and says hes the expert not you, but I knew he was scamming me but couldn't say so. Eventually I get him to just shush, and he orders the nikon through a call. All of a sudden 10 mins later, without any other phone call, be says we don't have more sorry. But buy this t3i for just 2000 HKD more or ake this barely used one for a cheaper price. We all refuse and he insist and we say will there be another tomorrow he says yes. The thing is I want to "scam the scammer" I know he's going to, tomorrow, remove the body from the boxing, OR it's going to be in chinese, meaning it's been used. I want to tell him that innocently, while paying the cheap price that he thought meant scamming me. Anyways, tomorrow, how do I get him to just shut up and give me what I want, and show my dad that he's scamming us!!! Helppppp
Added (1). He was scamming me because he was selling me a product that was fake (I could see the rebel t3 sticker glued onto the label) and for 3 times the real price. Can't go to another shop, parents disagree. Remember I'm "only 13" so my parents won't listen no matter what. They even tried to make me buy dr. Dre beats for 8 USD because they thought it was a good price

I want to buy Cullmann Primax 190 tripod, but i don't know if it is good or not? i have Nikon D3100 with 18-55mm and 55-300 mm lenses, is this tripod good for my camera? Any idea?

Will taking photos of the sun affect my DSLR? (have pictures)?

I got my Nikon D3100 yesterday and tried taking 3 pictures with the sun in the background.It was around 5 o'clock when I took them. Will it affect my camera? Thanks :)

How to change shutter speed on Nikon J1?

So I want to do some light painting on my new Nikon J1, it's my first camera so I'm not very good with changing the settings, etc. I've tried to google it but I can't find anything, only reviews of the camera. Can someone please tell me how to change the shutter speed to do light painting?
