What DSLR cameras preform best at high ISO?

I've been into photography for quite a while and I really love it, but my current camera is very old(10 years) and limiting. I'm beyond ready to upgrade to something great. Because of the type of photography that I usually do, I'm looking for a camera that handles high ISO's very well. I'm only considering Nikon cameras, as that's what all my current gear is and I'm happy with it.
I know the D3/3s/4 are exceptional with high ISO performance, but I'm not sure I want to drop thousands of dollars on a camera body. I would certainly get my money's worth out of it, but it would take me quite a while to save up and be able to afford it.

What other Nikon cameras do very well with high ISOs?

Thanks! :)

What might cause shutter lock up on Nikon D90 after taking others with no problems?

Inside very well lighted gym, other photos taken but when shooting a small group in same location the shutter locked up. ISO/ASA 200, f6, auto focus, flash off as with other photos taken and the shutter locked up. Had the same problem when shooting a flower outside on sunny day: ISO 200, f3.5 to throw background out of focus, set on auto focus. Shutter locked up. battery was charged, lens on correctly.

What do you need to become a DISNEYLAND PHOTOPASS PHOTOGRAPHER?

Hi I'm 17 years old still in high school as a junior. I don't graduate high school till I'm 19.Do you need a high school diploma for this job? My dream is to become a photopass photographer at Disneyland and my oldest sister has been working at disneyland for 3 years now and she can get me a job. I have a Nikon D50 at home that i carry it around with me everywhere because i love photography and my photos come out really well. I was wondering if you have to have a degree in photography as a "professional" photographer for disneyland, or could i just show up with a portfolio of my photography pictures? Also, how old do you have to be to work as a photopass photographer at Disneyland? My sister says 18, but I also read online that sometimes you have to be a certain age to work in a specific job around Disneyland. PLEASE HLEP.

Should i go with f/1.8 or f/2.8 for Star Photography?

Is there a significant difference, enough between a f/1.8 lens and a f/2.8 lens for star photography?
Will the f/1.8 lens let more light in to the point where its very noticable, and per say WORTH getting over the f/2.8. Or are they pretty much the same that you will not see any differences.

Nikon 40mm f/2.8 MICRO (i love the macro feature)
Nikon 35mm f/1.8

This lens is specifically for taking night/star photography. So if the f/1.8 is significantly better, please let me know.Im short on cash, and im unable to have both lenses to compare them side by side with different photos.

Which camera choice would you pick & why?

So I've been doing amateur photography for at least 18 months now, anywhere I go the camera comes but I'm looking to upgrade from my bridge camera. I love a good sunset or sunrise pictures but also like getting up close to pretty flowers, raindrops etc. I've been into the camera shop had a feel & a look, I love how the Nikon d5100 feels and it's operating system but then I also love the Sony A58 & everything about it, when I ask in the shop I'm being recommended the Sony, at the moment I can pick up the Sony for £550 that with the 18-55mm & 75-300 lenses I'm thinking that's a bargain, but then Nikon you have such a wider range of lenses. I'm just wanting your thoughts on both cameras & what you would buy. Look forward to your replies. Many thanks R
