Best Buy insurance plan for camera?

Bought a Canon rebel t2i from bestbuy at 649.99 almost a year ago.with that i got the one year insurance plan that covers any kind of physical damage to the camera. I recently broke it not too long ago and need to go back to best buy and see what's gonna happen but i just want some feedback from anyone that has worked at best buy or has knowledge on their insurance plans.the canon t2i has been discontinued and no longer in stock in stores as they moved on from that model and now the t3i matches the price i paid for my camera.would i get a canon t3i as a replacement from my t2i since my camera is no longer sold at best buy? would they try to fix the camera? i'm also done with canon, they are good cameras but just had a bad experience with it.also wondered if i could get a nikon or something similar of equal or less price from the store, it being a computer or something of that sort.or if i could get my money back or credit towards the store so i can buy whatever with the money i get back if i get back any money.feedback please?

What's the safest way to buy Nikon D3100 from Amazon.com?

I'm asking a friend to buy a Nikon D3100 and bring it for me from France but I don't know how to order it. I found this:

And it says "de Nikon" meaning "from Nikon". Does that mean it's the official channel of Nikon on Amazon and it's safe to buy it from there?

Added (1). Fhotoace: thanks but I don't live in the US so getting a US warranty is not going to do me any good. And I do know that buying it from France is gonna cost more but I don't have anyone to bring it for me from the US (and I don't have a credit card to but it myself)

I have a nikon d 40 with a great lens however, I want to upgrade and was wondering if my lens would work on a Cannon EOS?

Camera reccomendations?

I am looking for a nice Milc camera, good for a begginer, cheapish at most i'll pay 900dollars, I want it to look something like the Leica m9 or the Nikon V1 or V2. I also want that little hole that you look through to see your picture you are taking. I think all Milc's are light but just incase not all of them are I would like it to be light. I will be taking pictures mostly.
So please do reccomend

And to all the photographers what was your first camera and what type of camera do you prefer?

Can you use speedlite SB-800 on auto mode?

i am thinking of buying sb 800 for my nikon d3100.i was just wondering if i can use it on auto mode not just manual.
Is it suitable for my nikon?
anything important i should know before i buy it?

Opteka Remote Shutter Release compatible with Nikon D3100?

I just bought a corded Opteka Shutter Release. This is it's Amazon link: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003XN4XJU/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1#productDescription.
Though the title says it works with the Nikon D3100, I plugged it in (it was hard to do so) but it doesn't work. I attemped it on the Auto and Manual settings.It will not take shots, nor will it autofocus when half pressed. Any help would be appreciated.
Added (1). Additionally: I have turned it on and off again before testing.
