What are some Nice entry level Dslrs?

I am looking for an upgrade from my point and shoot, a Panasonic lumix dmc-ts3.i am going on vacation in April and want to bring home nice photos. i just do general photography nothing too serious.i am kinda on a budget so the cheaper the better, i have been looking at the Nikon D3200, any thoughts?

Nikon D3000 program mode?

When I try to use the command dial to change the aperture or shutter speed when I'm in program mode, it doesn't change it, but I get the little star telling me it's not on the recommended value anymore… How are you supposed to tell what settings your at?!?

Nikon d3200 problems?

I just bought a Nikon d3200 off of ebay, the camera works great im just having two problems. I got two lens's and the 55-200mm lens wont work, when I try to use it it says no lens attached even though it is (properly), and also I got a speedlight but I can not get it to slide on, This is my first dslr so im not sure if its me or the items

any info/advice would be appreciated!
Added (1). I also got a 18-55mm lens and it works perfectly fine.

What is the composition of the rubber grip on cameras?

I have a Nikon N80 that I recently took out to use and the rubber grip material is very sticky. I assume that it is reverting or decomposing. If it is a natural rubber that is vulcanized I will need to remove it. If it is a butyl rubber polymer mix, I may be able to seal it and continue using the camera as is. Anyone know what the composition of the grip material is?

Nikon d7000 focusing: A/M switches?

Hi! On the nikon d7k, there is a switch on the lower right front of the body for manual and auto focusing since it has a built in focusing motor. Does this mean that when shooting in auto mode (with my lens on auto), I must switch both the button on the camera and the one on the lens to change to manual shooting? Thanks!

50mm Nikon prime for DX camera?

I have searched quite a bit and I can't seem to find a lens that is made for a DX Nikon camera that is also 50mm. Does anyone know where I could find one?
If I want a 50mm focal length on my D7000, should I just go with a zoom lens?

By the way; I tend to stick to primes because I can't spend much money per lens and I only shoot with certain focal lengths (And I love using bokeh of stopping down to f1.8 or down to f1.2) so I've always figured that primes are my best solution for being on a budget.
By the way; keep in mind I can't really spend more than $500 on this one

The flash on my camera stopped working?

I got a nikon camera from my mother the christmas before last and around the beginning to middle of october my flash randomly decided to stop working properly.It usually didnt flash even if I set to where flash was on rather than auto. Occasionally it would flash, but then around christmas it changed to where even if it did flash, the flash would be too bright and the picture would come out almost white. I havent used my camera in months so if anybody can help I would appreciate it.

Need help with choosing correct photo lens filter?

Hi,

I'm buying Sigma 17-50mm f/2.8 EX DC OS HSM FLD Large Aperture Standard Zoom Lens for Nikon Digital DSLR Camera and need to make sure that I get a correct filter for it. All filters seem to have certain mm to them and I do not know what exactly it means since my lens is a zoom lens.

Please let me know what mm I should choose. I will be buying UV filter and possible some other "artistic" filters.

Also, I'm looking to "convert" this lens to macro - what is this peace called? It's a magnifying piece.

If it helps - I'm looking to shoot absolutely everything - from macro to landscapes, and group portraits to individual, more intimate close-ups.

How good is the Nikon AF 80-400mm VR f/4.5-5.6D lens for concert photography? Would you say it's a good alternative to the common 70-200mm f2.8, especially when having to shoot from afar?

How to zoom using a Nikon D3200 camera?

The question is actually on zoom and focus

My brother said that I don't have to focus and just set the two switches on the lens to auto and for zoom i just let it zoom automatically

I think he's wrong about the zoom-i have to turn the lens right?

also, what mode is best for still photos of people in general? the costco guy said to use aperture

Can any one help me, Tamron super zoom F/3.8-5.6 aspherical XR 28-200 mm work well with d 5100?
