Nikon d90 settings for pictures outside at night?

I want to take a night to take pictures of the Vermont I'm in right now. It's quaint and eerie at night and I really want to catch its character. Can any one help with the settings I should choose on my camera? ISO, Aperture? MODE? I'm lost here. Please help. Thank you. And yes I have a tripod.

Does anyone know if a 15-55mm Nikon lens is to big to take to an NHL game?

I'm going to a sens-leafs game this weekend and want to bring my Nikon D3100 so I can actually get some good pictures. I've heard there's a specific length that a camera lens has to be for it to be allowed into the arena. So, does anyone know the regulations that the Canadian Tire Centre, in Ottawa, has on camera lenses or any other rules I should know of before going to the game. Thank you!

How to shoot good video on Nikon D5200 (gets wobbly/ jello image while panning)?

Hi, I just bought a Nikon D5200 to use for some of my short films. I usually film stuff with a 16mm film camera so I'm sort of new to digital stuff. I tried out the video and noticed wobbling when I move the camera horizontally. Are there any settings I should be on to fix that? Do you recommend any settings just for good quality in general or just basic things that are important to know? I've been playing around with it but I need a little help. I've been looking for videos for how to do video but I haven't found any that goes into good detail. Maybe you might know any that will help me out a little more? Thank you so much!

Added (1). I took photography classes before so I know some stuff about the camera, just not the video part.

Is the video capability on the Canon 60D good?

I'm thinking of buying a Canon 60D for filming. I currently use a Nikon D3100 and wanting to upgrade. I don't mind jumping ship to Canon because my main point is the quality of the video. My biggest question is about the full time Af in video mode. Does it have full time Af? And is the Af fast and accurate and not like Nikon DSLRs where they are slow and constantly trying to grab on something. Thank you in advance~ cheers

What is the difference between the f numbers in the DSLR lenses?

i am looking to buy a zoom lens for my new dslr
i am new to photography and dslr
but i understand enough to know that the smaller the f number the wider the apperture
and better options when taking pictures
the problem i have with the f number is the way they are displayed.

what everyone seems to care to talk about is 1.2 2.3 3.0 and
whatever has a number a period and a number 0.0

what is the difference between 1:4 and 1.4 usually displayed as 1:4 - 5.6
why the Colon instead of the period?
and what is the 5.6 representing?

My pictures turn out black?

I have a Nikon D5100 and I'm just learning how to use it. The lens cap is NOT on. I was trying to figure out how to adjust the ISO, aperture, and whatnot; but now the pictures all come out black when I'm in the manual mode. It takes pictures just fine in the other modes, but I can't adjust all these things in other modes. Is there something that I need to adjust in the manual mode to make the pictures turn out normally?
