Nikon, Pentax, or Cannon?

I personally have a Nikon D7000, but not because I prefer Nikon over the other brands, it's just what my Dad bought and I now have, and I've learnt on it so am familiar with it compared to any other brands.As I said, I am not specifically supporting Nikon as a favourite, I just have one of their cameras.

But tell me, do you prefer Nikon or Cannon or Pentax, and then tell me why? I mean, all three produce high quality DSLR Cameras, so why is there so much rivalry?

Use an iphone as an ipod?

Ok so I'm really into taking pictures and photography and I have a Nikon Nikkor 15x wide Optional zoom VR but when I'm out at school and places I don't bring it with me. I have an Ipod 4 gen, and the quality of iPhone pictures is much better than my iPod pictures for when I'm out somewhere. Would I be able to buy and iPhone with no plan and still use the Camera, and all the apps it comes with? Also could I have my apps and music on there and use wifi so it's just like an iPod, but really an iPhone? Thanks!

I need a better Portrait Lens for NIKON D3100?

I bought the nikkor 35mm 1.8 AF-S lens a few months ago for my d3100 because I do a lot of portrait work and it is the most highly recommended for the d3100. However, the depth of field is still not as shallow and creamy as I would love to see in my portraits.
I am looking for a lens that will achieve beautiful bokeh for under about $800.

Have been considering either of the Nikkor AF-S models 50mm 1.4 or 85mm 1.8
I have also read about Rokinon's 85mm 1.4 which sounds like a nice cheaper option but it would not have auto focusing on my 3100 and I don't know how hard manual focusing would be for me since i've never done that.

Anyone have any ideas, suggestions or opinions on where to go from here and or what to purchase?
I mostly do outdoor shoots of models, couples or children.

Which could be the smallest mechanical film SLR from Canon?

Recently I've been using a very nice FTb ql, but I'd like to know if during those days Canon also made a small, full featured all mechanical SLR, in the same league of its competitor like the Nikon FM2, Olympus OM-1 or Pentax MX.
I know that the AE-1 hit around that time and is small and nice but it also has an electronic shutter… So which could be the smallest mechanical Canon SLR?

How to access bulb mode on Nikon D5200?

When setting the shutter speed on the screen there is a circle with different speeds and there is a "b" mark which stands for bulb mode but when I scroll it wont select it it stops just before the "b" mark… please tell me if there are other settings I must set in order to select bulb mode and make long exposure photos. THANK YOU!!!:)

Night club photos- coving a shift with no experience!

I've just been asked to cover comes work in a bar/nightclub taking photos. I do take photos, but just in general, but thats why i was asked as i know my friend whos shift im covering. Only thing is, i have no idea how to take photos in a nightclub/bar!!? Do i just put the flash on! I have a Nikon D5100, nothing fancy, but someone please help!

Hi im starting my photography course and am needing a camera but being a single mum cant afford thousands so was looking at the Nikon D7000 is it good enough to do photoshoots with? Im wanting to focus on babies and portraits thanks

How good is Nikon D3100 camera for beginners?

Would a picture be sharper with a better lens?

I got Nikon D5200 (24 mega-pixels), but my pics aren't as sharp as I want them… I need a really sharp pics, really detailed… do I need to change a body or lens? And yes I set my camera properly!!! if you're gonna say lens tell me which exactly, same if you're gonna say body… I make urban photos mostly and nature landscapes.

P.S.my lens is DX AF-S NIKKOR 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G

How to use your camera for the best pictures?

I just upgraded from a little digital camera to a Nikon 1 J1.Im am on my yearbook staff in high school and thats what got me into taking pictures. I want to be able to take really good pictures. Any tips or advice or how to's on this camera would be amazing. I am a total beginner but I hope to get really good someday.
