Film Photography multiple Exposure?

I was out earlier shooting some images (using a Nikon FE, just in case that helps) when I was testing to see if a switch did as i thought. It did, it allowed me to make a multiple exposure, not advancing the film when I push the film advance lever. Only problem is, I assumed i'd be able to abort it. I spent a little while trying to see what I should do, it seemed as though the only way to make the film advance would be to take another exposure. So gave up and just took another, but I covered my lens (with the lens cap and also my hand) as well as pressing the view finder to my chest in case any light got in that way. I did also put the settings to F22 and 1/1000th for even less possibility of light. I'm assuming that because no new light got in, there wont be any change to the first image? Is this correct? And also if there is a different way to abort making a multiple exposure on a Nikon FE I'd be glad to hear it. Thanks

Can the Nikon d3300 pick up infra red?

I am trying to think of a way to make the night vision on my Nikon d3300 work in dark rooms, it works fine when filming with a source of light nearby such as a lamp post or a light in someone's window but when I take it down into my cellar it doesn't work at all. Now I was thinking if it could pick up infra red the maybe I could strap a light to it and be able to film in those really dark rooms without using a flash light, potentially being unseen, if not does anyone else have any ideas about how I could do this?

Shutter Release Remote?

I have a Nikon P510. I cant seem to find a suitable remote shutter release for the camera. I want to take shots like fireworks and it is terrible having to keep pressing on the shutter release button. I saw people using a remote. But I cant seem to find one suitable for my camera. And I have no plans to change my camera as I'm very happy with it. Any idea where I can get one?

DSLR OR POINT AND SHOOT?

hi. Im looking for a camera.
im having choice in point and shoot nikon L830 and dslr nikon d3100 or d40

i have read lot of reviews about nikon L830 and im little bit satisfied but the one issue is it uses alkaline battery. Where nowadays even digi cam comes with lithium battery.

if i go with dslr it is bit costly as in dslr cam every year new model exists and replaces the old one.
as im not professional one i adopt to be a photographer.

so im confused whether to buy point and shoot and can later buy a good one or
one dslr which i can use lifelong. So please help to take correct decision.
thank you
