Issues connecting Nikon D800 to computer?

So I just bought a Nikon D800 and have installed the program that came with it on a CD. I'm trying to view the photos I've taken with the camera on my computer, but when I connect the camera to my computer, it doesn't work. Initially, I get an alert balloon saying it's installing the device driver software, which is normal, but then it stops and says the device driver software has not been successfully installed.
If it's relevant, my computer runs on Windows 7 Starter.
Help please?

Camera for video and pictures?

I'm interested in purchasing a camera that takes high quality pictures but has a video feature as well.
I was leaning towards purchasing the Nikon d50, but then I realized I would need to take videos with my camera as well (and the d50 doesn't have a video feature as far as I know). I'll be taking pictures of mostly country scenery and village lifestyle. What would be your recommendations? My budget is around $700.

How to upload videos from my DSLR to my Windows computer?

I have an Nikon D3200 and it's fine with uploading pictures, but I've noticed that any videos that I make with it don't show up when I'm uploading. I know there may be some kind of software that I have to download for it, but I'm not sure what. Does anyone happen to know? Because I am quite clueless.

Filming for Media, with the flash on?

For our new project, we have to film a music video.My initial idea was to find some funky music and go out with a load of friend for a 'night out' in town etc… im under 18, so just go to pubs and stuff, 'get drunk', go back to someones house, and wake up the next day… and basically just film it all! I thought it was a really cool idea… like a typical night out, but cant remember it kinda thing… but, how do i film outside etc with my Nikon D5100… i know its not the best for filming.but its all i have! How can i film with the flash on?

Photographing my cousin's wedding.? - 1

Hello.

I'm sure this question pops up a lot on Y Answers.

My cousin is getting married in mid July. Since my family members know me as a photographer, they have immediately asked me to shoot this wedding.

My problem is not regarding my equipment, experience, or ability. The problem is that they want me to shoot this wedding totally for free.My family members are already saying that I charge too much and that I should do it for free as a wedding gift.

My original charge is around $1000. I was going to give a discount because she is my cousin. Problem is that my father told me that that was too high, and he already told my aunt (bride's mother) that it would be $300. And my aunt even said that $300 was too high, that there will be other people with their own small cameras there (Uncle Bobs… ugh… ). Even still, my family members still want me to shoot this wedding.

Thank goodness I have not talked to my cousin and the groom yet.As photographers, we all know how much work it takes to photograph a wedding and produce a professional product to the best of our ability. When I meet up with my cousin, I will have to go into how much work I will have to do (showing up an hour early, 5 hours of labor, 5 hours of processing, etc.) and discuss why I charge what I charge.

There is a chance that I will not reach an agreement with my cousin and won't shoot the wedding. If that happens, however, I fear that I will be asked to just bring my camera as a guest and I will be scrutinized if I do not.My family really does not understand what being a professional photographer means.

Added (1). I have not talked to my cousin because she is currently on vacation in Mexico. Did she ask for that for free? Would it make sense to ask for wedding dress, food, and decorations for free too? It shouldn't be the case for a photographer either.

Cheaper lens alternatives?

Basically, I am looking to start doing some wedding photography but am still very much an amateur aiming to gain new skills. I have been shadowing a pro wedding photographer for the past few days and the main 3 lenses that she uses are as follows:

Nikon 105mm f2.8 G AF-S VR IF ED Micro Nikkor Lens for macro, photographing things like the rings, close ups of details etc.

Nikon AF-S Nikkor 50mm f/1.4G Lens

Nikon 24-70mm f2.8 G AF-S ED Lens for distance shots

I don't have the money to be able to afford these lenses and would rather wait until I'm more skilled before I purchase some top quality lenses, therefore I am looking for some cheaper alternatives that still give great results.

I am currently a property photographer for a firm of estate agents and have a company Nikon D3X that I would be using.

I want to get some new lenses in order to be able to train as a wedding photographer, I didn't say that I was going to get some new lenses and then shoot a wedding the next day?

And maybe I was a bit vague about my photographic skills - I'm quite an able photographer, just an amateur in wedding photography so please don't respond to this question as if I don't know what I'm doing, I just need some advice about some cheaper lenses UNTIL I feel that I am skilled enough to want to spend a lot of money on some high quality lenses.

What is this DSLR Battery grip product called?

I recently saw a product designed for DSLR

If you have a battery grip, the original battery fits inside it.it has a tray wherein you can put either an original battery or 6 AA battery

But this product removes the tray altogether and is one big battery.the whole cavity inside is replaced by one big battery.itis also designed to be charged directly with an ac charger.so i theory, you can directly plug your camera to an ac outlet

I saw that it is available for NIkon d3100 and d7000

How to fix error code 0x80004004 when trying to get photos off of sd card?

I have a PNY 2gb micro sd that I use in it's adaptor in my nikon camera. I put it into my laptop and have had success just coping, pasting, and then deleting the photos until recently. I get error code 0x80004004 when I try to view, copy, or delete the photos from my memmory card, but I can see that they are there and sometimes it will load the thumbnails. Basically I cannot do anything and it is very frustrating because I cannot find any help when I google the issue. Any help would be wonderful! Thanks!

The Nikon D3100 and D5100?

Okay.So I'm super hyped about getting a new camera! I just recently became interested in photography! Does anyone know the difference between the D3100 and D5100? I have the urge to wanting to get the D5100 but if there's not a big difference in them I might just want to go with the D3100! And I know there is around a $200 price difference between them.
