Nikon S3500 photos coming out weird?

i recently (maybe 2 weeks ago) bought a Nikon S3500 digital camera from Target. It worked perfectly fine until i turned on the camera today to take some photos. Suddenly the LCD has a purple tint to it and when i take a photo they all have a weird tint to it and fuzzy gray/black lines on them. I tried uploading the photos to my computer and the lines are still there.

here is one of the photos to show you what they look like:

does anyone know what the problem might be? Would it be the camera itself or maybe the SD card? If i do need to return it does Target accepted opened electronics as a return?

Why won't my camera read my sd card?

I was browsing through my pictures on my nikon d3100 and deleted some photos. I took the sd card out and uploaded the remaining photos to my laptop. After I uploaded them, I put my sd card back in the camera and it says "no sd card inserted" when it's clearly in.

Looking to upgrade from a standard point and shoot camera to a good DSLR?

I am doing some research into buying a good DSLR camera with some lenses. I have been looking at the Nikon D5300 and Nikon D7100.

The main purpose of the camera is that i want to be able to take great photos of my family and upcoming family events, and then use these photos to print and display.

Question is, what is a decent camera to purchase, and what lense(s) would you recommend buying, as from what i have read, the kit lenses are perhaps not that good and i would be better off buying the stand alone camera and adding lenses to it.

I do also plan on taking a photography course so i can understand the functions of the camera much better, so would like to make sure i buy a decent quality camera.

Would love to hear peoples comments.

CAMERA WHITE BALANCE?

Hello guys, I have a Nikon D3200 which i use as holidays camera. But recently i've noticed a problem with it.Whenever i am shooting under ambient light situations. The camera just give me a plainly flat colour image(Everything is white, no visible ambient light). But whenever i use the flash with it(whether uner TTL or manual exposure:assuming the exposure is correctly set.), it gives me the pictures well exposed with the ambient lights. I would like to know how to solve it by myself before going to a technician because they just charge high money even if its something really minor(they are not fair at all on the pricing).Concerning the camera,i've tried preset modes and its a real pain, i dont want to use the grey card because it will be a hassle each time to reset it(unless am shooting for the kids of my uncle and then i want specific color temperatures to be visible.)This is being a pain for me to deal with the camera such because i most of the time shoot moody pictures(no flash at all).

Some hint which might help you figure it out for me: i've tried taking a shot of a light bulb which is warm in color temperature(yellowish), but the camera gives me a white picture(not yellow at all:( ). My problem is not yellow pictures but i know right there if its not working for yellow then it wont work for other colors as well under ambient light situations.

Thank you in advance. Have a nice Day.
