Why is my camera clicking so slowly?

I have a Nikon D3100.It's been awesome, but today it started behaving strangely.It seems like the shutter speed is very slow. Even in bright light, it takes 1/2-1 seconds between the initial click and the slightly lower click. The shutter seems to be a lot louder than normal, also. However, the main camera screen displays a normal shutter speed of 1/50-1/100. The really weird thing is that the pictures come out fine--the camera doesn't seem to be taking a picture during the entire click. What is wrong and how can I fix it?

Nikon J1, most useful lenses/accessories?

I have 2 cameras, my Canon 20D and a cheap point and shoot that broke recently. I love my 20D, even though it's probably really outdated now.It's also a pain to lug around to every situation I would want to take pictures, and I haven't ever been able to afford the 2 lenses I REALLY want for it (both over $1000). The point and shoot was more convenient, but the photo quality was really bad in any indoors/low light situation. I found a great deal on a refurbished Nikon J1 with the 10-30mm lens. I have been looking at them for a while, since it seems like a reasonable compromise between my good camera and another junker point and shoot camera.

Once I get it, I want to go through and learn all the features like I did when I got my Canon. After I have a good handle on it, I'm pretty sure I want to order the 30-100mm lens and a filter set (I have a bunch of cokin special effect filters for my Canon, and have a lot of fun with them). I'm not sure what other lenses or accessories would actually be useful vs.becoming dust collectors? Any suggestions or comments on what's worked for you? Also does anyone actually know what style mount the J1 has? Is it unique to the J-series?

First DSLR suggestions?

I'm a high school senior heading off to college next year to potentially study photojournalism. I'm looking to ask for a DSLR and lens for graduation. I have a lot of experience shooting with a 1968 Nikon SLR on film but I haven't yet branched into the digital world. I was hoping I could get some suggestions on what to look for in a camera or specific cameras I should look into and the same with lenses. I don't want to completely break the bank here so moderate prices would be appreciated. Thank you!

I need a cheap SLR-like camera, what is your suggestion?

I am used to do photography with a Nikon d80 camera, with 18-55 and 70-300 3.5, 6. But I have lost this camera and lenses. I want to buy a new camera in budget. I can dedicate 500$ at maximum for purchasing a camera an it's lens.actually I know that it is not that much, but at the moment I cannot cost much more. On the other hand, I cannot live without the camera, I am addicted to do photography. One day I decide to not purchase a camera until I would have a budget of 2000 to 3000 dollar. But this cannot happen soon.

Anyway, I decide to but a camera for landscape, outdoor, nature. I am serious photographer who detail and sharpness is much important for me. I recently found Canon hx50 interesting while cannon G1x catch my eye because of 24-1200 lens capability and big sensor respectively.

I am not sure if these camera can meet my demand.

What is your suggestion ?

Lightroom 4, correcting chronological mistake?

We just took wedding pictures with two cameras. Uploaded all the pics into lightroom 4, and clicked organize chronologically. Then realized that one camera's clock was about 15 minutes behind the other, so all the pictures are shuffled better than they do in Vegas. Are there any easy fixes here? I know I can edit the metadata for the pictures individually, but we're talking about editing around 1, 000 time stamps :(

If it matters, the cameras are a nikon D7000 and D600, a variety of lenses switched throughout the day, and the latest firmware update for LR4 has been installed
