Which cameras better, Nikon or Canon?

Hi,
I am a graphic designer and have been taking pretty good pictures on my Olympic camera but I want something a little more advanced.
I hear nothing but good things about Nikon and Canon.
I would like to know which is the best camera to use to take good photography photos and for videos to upload onto YouTube? Which ones would you suggest?

What is the nikon version of this lense?

I want to invest in an amazing lense for my camera. I have a Nikon and I was doing some research and the canon EF 24-105mm 1:4 L ISÂ for the Canon DSLR cameras is an amazing lense. So I was wondering if there was a lense for the Nikon DSLR cameras that is equivalent or oven better than the canon lenses? Does anyone know? Or if you dont, do you recommend any?
