Nikon D3100: 50mm f1.8 or 35mm f1.8?

I'm hopefully receiving a Nikon D3100 for Christmas this year and being a complete novice to using DSLRs I have no idea what each lens does.

I've done a lot of research and it seems that investing in prime lenses are the way to go for brilliant picture quality and the two most mentioned lenses are the Nikkor 50mm and 35mm.

I am not entirely sure what the pros and cons are on each lens so if someone would be able to give me any information I would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance!

What's my next NIKKOR (Nikon) Lens?

I own a Nikon D90 with four lens.
Fisheye
24-55mm auto
50mm manual
80mm manual

Lately I've been using the 80mm for seniors and family portraits but if a family member doesn't stand in my focal range, the bokeh gets the best of them. I need a new lens that can focus on many faces at once but still has good background bokeh. I've researched for months but I need opinions. Budget is around $600-$800

How big of a photo print can I make?

I want to get a photo print of this to put on my wall (I am the owner of the picture)
I was wondering what is the largest print size I could have that still looks high quality knowing that I have a 16mp Nikon D7000

The image is in full quality of 16mp and I know

I would love to know the max of what I should do for this quality of camera (I know that I could get some pretty big prints with my old 6mp Pentax *ist even)

Can you use camera lenses from other countries?

This may sound like a stupid question. For example you buy a Nikon 35mm 1.8g lens in Japan, and bring it over to Canada. Can you use the lens on your D7000 that you bought in Canada?

Which would be a better option for a starter lens on a Nikon D7000?

I'm planning to purchase my first dslr and I've decided to go with the D7000 over the D5100. I know that the D5100 is probably the camera that's more in my range, but I figured that the 7k will give me much more options once I start progressing.
So, I glanced at the 18-105VR lens that comes with the camera, and read it to be an OK lens? My primary focus are night shots, so I want a relatively quick and sharp lens for the occassions. I did some more reading and thought that the 35mm 1.8g, and the 50mm 1.8 are decent for the price.

So my question really is would purchasing the body and the 35mm lens or 50mm be a smart decision? Or is it better to stick with the lens that comes with it and invest in lenses later.

Btw, my budget is pretty tight so I want to use the money wisely for something that will last.
I know you guys may think why a low budget amateur would be investing in something like this. But I'm really into photography, and I'm also planning to take detailed lessons to further develop my knowledge.

Thanks, and I'm sorry there's so much writing for such a short question.

Is this camera deal worth it?

This is a bundle deal at Costco. A Nikon d3200, 18-55 mm and 55-200 mm VR Lenses, WU-1a Wi-Fi Mobile Adapter, and a few smaller things(bag, sd cards, etc.). This is all $780.Is this a good deal, or should I just get the slr on amazon for $600? Thanks

Help with blurry pictures?

I have taken several pictures on new Nikon camera. I emailed them to myself (gmail) to work on a Powerpoint. They came out small, and when I enlarged them, they were pixelated and blurry. I don't want to buy a blur remover. If I transfered them to school on a flash drive, would that work?

Thanks, Sean

If I want to use a shotgun mic for a Nikon D90?

I've never had to use an external mic for a camera before, as I usually make music videos, and don't need to record an higher quality audio. What will I need to get for high quality sound, and what would you recommend (if anything) I buy with the shotgun mic?
Added (1). I know the D90 lacks the right connection, but would I be able to connect the boom mic to a laptop or another device?

Tips for taking amazing night/dark photos?

I have my first photo shoot where I need to take pictures in a dark setting. It is a prom, and I am very nervous. I have a Nikon D70 and I will be renting an external flash. Are there are any good settings I should set my camera to? They will be candid shots, likely of people dancing. Any suggestions are great - thank you!
Added (1). I have permission to use a flash.

I only have an f 3.5-4.5 lens, which I know isn't great but if I get hired full time or whatever I will get a better one. More tips appreciated! Should I use the M, A,S, or P setting on the camera? Thanks
