Best lens for videography?

Hi I have a Nikon d3100, and want to start filming montage videos. I want to know what a good lens would be to use, prime, zoom etc. I am wanting to try to make videos like jay alvarrez. Please let me know!

LIGHT PAINTING NIKON D3200?

So I just purchased my nikon D3200 and I want to know how I can use the light painting function on it, but I have no clue on what options I should have it.
I tried putting the shutter speed at 30 and the aperture at 8, but it failed.
If you know, please help!
