Why are my pictures coming up small?
(THIS IS ON ASTROPHOT0GRAPHY)
Hi there, i was taking a picture of Jupiter through my Meade LX200GPS 12". i was please with the picture but when i compared it to other pictures on Google (taken with other LX200GPS 12"s Jupiter was 10 times bigger. I take about 30 second exposures and on ISO 800. If someone could please recommend a good camera setting for Nikon D3100 taking pictures. And also why are my pictures small and how can i make them bigger.

Nikon D3100 Retouched Photos Not Showing up On Computer?
Hello there! I just got a Nikon D3100 for Christmas, and I'm such a noob. I retouched a few photos using the in camera options, and then saved them on the camera. When I pull up the photos on the memory card on my computer the retouched photos are not showing up along with the rest of the photos. If I put the memory card back in the camera and view the photos on there, the retouched photos show up just fine. What in the world am I doing wrong? Thanks in advance!

Which DSLR camera shall I buy?
I am a student currently studying a foundation degree in photography (started in september). I did photography at A-level and it is my passion. I do it as a hobby outside of uni work aswell. I am currently on the stage of switching from bridge camera to dslr. I have used dslr cameras a lot before (nikon d3000 and d3100) but i now want to buy one of my own.Is there any that you would recommend?
And I prefer Nikon to Canon :)

Video on canon camera stops recording automatically?
So normally i use a d3100 and record at 720 with no problems. But i lost my battery and had to do a video so the guy lent me his camera.
i guess its a lower end canon (Powershot SX20 IS). I dont know much about it but i got the basic down. When i tried to use the card from my nikon and record in 720 it records foor about 5 seconds and stops.It works fine at standard definition. Why would it work fine on one cam and not on the other? Do they process differently? Or id the canon detecting nikon data and getting jealous?
Also im using a 32GB class10 transcend card

How to get my Nikon SB-900 to work with my Nikon D3S to shoot at 1/250th of a second?
All my efforts only get the flash to work at 1/60th of a second. Please tell me what settings to use so I can get this to work at 1/250th of a second.

Lol, this is a weird idea.
OK, so right now it might seem like R&B and the Justin Bieber crowd are the definition of 'mainstream'. But I've been thinking. Indie music is everywhere.It's used in so many TV programmes (Grey's Anatomy is a prime example), to evoke emotions in audiences.It's used in adverts to encourage people to buy things (Nikon used Radical Face recently, there are so many other examples).It's used in games too. Even in shows like the X-Factor, the performances best received by the audience seem to be the alt-indie ones (in the UK, that is, and they're usually ballads, but still indie). Even in the Olympics, the commentators noticed how all the competitors from all the different countries seemed to know the lyrics to Oasis' Wonderwall. Also, no one can hate the indie scene in it's entirety.It's impossible, because it's so versatile. You're bound to like at least one indie song (probably Chasing Cars, lol) no matter what genre you're into (except maybe death metal, I dunno… ).
So what do people think? Has indie music, like a ninja, become the biggest music genre in the world without people even noticing?
Haha I know this is ridiculous, but I'd like to see some arguments for and against! Best argument either way wins the points.

What program should I use to edit my photos?
I have PhotoFiltre and PhotoMud. I really want Photoshop but just CAN'T afford it. Any free editing stuff you'd recommend? I mostly want to enhance, sharpen, brighten, etc… I don't really like "pre-made filters", I like to control the settings…

Anyone have advice for a Nikon D5000?
I bought this camera more than a year ago but i feel like i still havent used it to it's full capabilities.Im still learning how to use it in dark light and too bright light, and i feel like there is something i dont understand. When i want to take a night landscape or anything in low lighting how can i adjust the settings to achieve the most stable, focused photo?

Can you do bokeh with a Nikon 1 J1?
I have the Nikon 1 J1 camera and I want to capture bokeh with it. Unfortunately I only have the 10-30mm lens, and I am wondering if it's possible to do so because I researched that you need at least a 55mm lens to capture bokeh.

I'm just getting into photography and bought a Nikon D5100. I'm looking at buying Photoshop Elements now. Can this program only be downloaded to 1 computer? I have one old desktop and a cheap laptop with no printer. Should I buy a 1TB external hard drive or just use a memory stick? I also need an inexpensive way to print photos. Can I plug an external hard drive into a photo kiosk at Walgreen's or CVS? What is generally the best way to store original and edited photos and what's the best and cheapest way to get prints? Thanks!

Should I keep the nikon 35mm f/1.8?
I have a nikon D7000 with 18-105mm and a 85mm 1.4.
I do most of my portrait work with the 85mm and use the 18-105mm as an all purpose lens. I got a 35mm 1.8 recently for indoor photos of family and friends, etc. And possibly outdoor at night.
So far I am quite disappointed with this. For example, comparing an indoor photo at f/1.8, ISO400, 1/20 to a photo from the 18-105mm at 35mm, f/3.5, ISO1000, 1/20 (with VR); I found the 18-105mm did a better job. With noise reduction in post, you can hardly tell the difference.
When taken outdoor, the 35mm shoots faster for sure, but the bokeh it produces is quite disappointing. The christmas tree behind the group is neither in focus nor out of focus. I had to stop down to f/3.5 (and higher ISO) to get a decent shot. I honestly thought the DOF would be much deeper at 35mm 1.8.
In other shots, the bokeh seems distracting rather than complimenting. (And if I have to shoot outside, the 85mm is pretty nice, even though I have to step back quite a bit to get it.)
If i want good bokeh, I use the 85mm (35mm has some bokeh, but not sure if it is worth it). If I want a group shot I prefer a greater DOF, which means the 18-105 fills the need. I really want to like the 35mm, but I don't seem to have a use for it. Should I return it?

I know nothing of cameras. I need a camera for high resolution, something that can record videos (with good sound), and it needs zoom that is decent. I have about $1500. I need the answer fast because Costco is having some rebates before this Saturday. Some of my friends have the Canon T3i and the pictures come out really high resolution.
