Shutter Speed help Nikon d5200?

I have a nikon d5200. I normally take stop motion pictures by putting the shutter speed as fast as it can go (1/4000) and then mess with the ISO. Or have the ISO on auto. I set the camera to continuous. This always takes great motion pictures, and my shutter goes up to 5 frames per second.

------Recently, the shutter takes for ever. I would say it takes 1 frame per second. This just started happening. I reset the shooting menu multiple times. I shut off my camera and took out the battery. I even bought a fast memory card…

Also I am going to the circus tomorrow, and would love any setting tips for the circus. Thank you!

First Lens for Filming on a DSLR?

Hi all -

I'm looking to get into film. I have recently purchased a Nikon D5300 and am looking for a lens to pair it with. I am also a keen photographer and would like to keep that option open. At the moment I only have one lens, a 22-88mm.

As someone looking to get a grasp of film and photography in ONE lens what would your recommendation be? My research has left me between the 35mm and 50mm 1.8. I feel the 35mm lends itself better overall to both Film and Photography.

Could anyone add anything to what I've found thus far?

Vlogging, yay or nay?

I'm a 15 y/o guy from Greece. I have 2 Youtube channels, 1 of which is pretty successful. The problem is, most of it's success is due to real life friends 80% or 85%. So there's a few "strangers" that appreciate/have noticed my stuff. The successful channel has to do with short films. The other one is just personal small length funny gaming mostly videos. I've been watching vloggers on Youtube for a long time, and since this year I've been asking myself if I wanted to try out vlogging. The more I think about starting vlogging the more I think I should forget it. These are the cons that I came up with:
1) Limited everyday life. I'm in school, and will keep being for another 2 years until I go to College, no driver's license (The age restriction in Greece is over 18). So in school weeks, its pretty much my day after school. 3:45 until I go to sleep.
2) Possible hate wave from school students. It's my first year in the school I'm going to now, I'm friends with most of my peers, but there is the occasional bastard that I could easily punch.
3) No camera for the time being. I have a DSLR Nikon, but it's no good for vlogging, except if I want to look even more silly walking down the streets of Athens (People here are not so familiar with vlogging).
Recap: I'm thinking I should wait out until I reach the age of 18. That way, I'm out of school, possibly going to go to University on another country and e.t.c.
Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

Nikon D5100 with Nikkor 55-200mm lens? - 1

I am wondering if I should purchase the Nikkor 55-200mm lens for my Nikon D5100. I love taking photos of my sons outside while he's playing & I take my families family photos. I really want the pictures to turn out very clear with the background very blurry. I love that look! Is this a good lens for that? Thanks!

What is HDR Painting?

What is "HDR Painting"?

I'm looking into buying the Nikon D3300, but I first wanted to make sure it has built-in HDR, because that's an important feature to me.

I was confused by some of the information I'm finding. At least two reviewers said there was no HDR capability. Yet, Snapsort (which I understand is not always reliable) lists it as a feature, while the Nikon website lists "HDR Painting" as a feature.

So I concluded that HDR Painting must refer to something a little different from other cameras' built-in HDR. But what is it exactly? Does anyone know?

Thanks

Nikon D3200 - Price Drop? Is it right for me?

I don't want a point and shoot camera. I've had those before.

I'm considering a Nikon D3200, I plan to take photos at family events and when ever I go somewhere fun such as vacations or Disneyland… Stuff like that., With that being said, is a Nikon D3200 right for me?

Also, the price. Currently at Walmart and Best Buy its $499, I was told the Nikon D3300 came out in Feb, Is $499 the lowest its gonna be or can i expect a price drop in a few weeks/months?
