Nikon 1 lens with manual focus?

I have a nikon 1 j1 and I am going into an intro to photography class that requires me to have manual focus. The lens I currently have can not manually focus but I know the camera has the capability to manually focus.Do any of the new Nikon 1 lenses have the ability to be focused manually or do I need to buy the adapter and another Nikon lens. If I do need to buy the adapter do I have to buy the Nikon brand lens adapter or is there a third party brand that I can purchase for cheaper? Thanks so much and any information is helpful.

I want to buy a new camera?

So i will buy a new camera bot i dont know what to buy. I will buy it from amazon and i want it no cost more than 100$. Maybe sony, nikon, cannon, panasonic or samsung.So pls tell me a good camera from amazon and give me link to it. I just want to make nice photos and no be very expensive. (sry for my english ;)

New Nikon Camera Lens?

I have a Nikon D3100 and I wanted to buy a new lens under $250. I want to be able to use it for close up action shots and for pictures of the moon. I was thinking about this one lens that has good zoom but most of the sports pictures turned of blurry. Thanks!

Is this nikon lens better than my old one?

So basicazlly, i went into a shop wanting an upgrade on my lens for my Nikon d5000 (I have the standard stock lens).My budget - 200 pounds.

From what i can remember, he pointed out the 18 - 70 mm nikon AF-S lens offers better optics and image quality than my stock lens.

He also pointed out a sigma lens, which he said was even better, but only if you were to obswerve the image to a huuge extent.

I just want to know, is the 18 - 70 mm the best option? Aany examples?

Also, any other optons you guys could recommend? Looking for sharpness, auto focus is not an issue for me, possibly some kind of zoom, but i could probably go without if need be.

How to autofocus on kit lens?

Hi everyone,
I have nikon d3100 with kit lens 18-55
How can i autofocus, i mean i want to shoot an item how do i set the camera and lens to do the focus? Is this possible?
My lens have a switch A-M which i am guessing is autofocus-Manual right?
When i do the switch to A and i am trying to shoot something, looking through the viewfinder or the screen my item is not in focus.
If the lens is switch to A doesht this mean that it should autofocus by itself?
What else do i need to do, change something in menu?
Please help if you know

Can I use a new DSLR lense on an older film camera?

Hi all!

Thanks for taking the time to help me out. I have a number of prime and zoom lenses for my current (cropped sensor) nikon DSLR camera. I'm taking a class in film photography and I have to buy a 35mm film SLR camera. I do want to stick to nikon.Is it possible for me to invest in a body only and use the lenses I already have? Or perhaps buy lenses that will be compatible with both my dslr and SLR? How do I know if they are compatible?

Hobbies for 11 year old girl?

Hi there!

My 11 year old daughter is a tomboy and wants a hobby! Her older brother will not let her touch his video games so I am getting her one for Christmas.

She wants a big fancy Nikon camera like me but I know she will break it and we are short on money and can't risk it at all! So yeah hehe

What is scrapbooking? I Have never heard of it and is curious about it! She was thinking about writing poems and drawing a picture to represent it and put it in a clear thing, then put it in a binder and make it a poem book. Thanks for da help
