Teens: Which would you get FIRST?

So I'm torn between a THING I really want and a PET I really want. The thing I really want is the Canon Rebel t4i! I'm not THAT into taking pictures, because I've never really had a 'professional' camera (one that costs over $400). I always use my iPod. The reason I am kind of iffy on this thing, is because I really want the pet PLUS my moms roommate (and mine, technically) has a Nikon d5100 that he says I can use whenever, so if I do really need to use a camera, I know he will let me use his.

The pet I want is a hamster. I know this might be weird cause I'm 14, going on 15 in November, but I've never had one. I've owned a gerbil when I was really little, but I don't remember much except I wasn't responsible and my mom wasn't any help, so the poor little guy lived in a Kritter Keeper and only had a food bowl and water bottle (I do believe) and the bottle leaked like crazy so I think he got sick and died… Anyways, now that I am responsible, I know I will take GREAT care of this guy. I wont get him until I have at least $500 saved up (including $200 for emergency vet bill money). I will also use my own allowance for his bedding and food. I get $80 a month so I know I'll definitely have enough plus I might even get him an extra new toy or two.
Another bit of info about wanting a hamster: I have a cat, but the thing is, the place I'm living at now already has two cats (since my mom and I have two other roommates, one for each of them) and I know my cat wont get along with them so he has to live at my grandmas. I terribly miss having a pet to take care of, that relies on me, which is another HUGE reason I want the hamster.

So anyways, after all that information, which one would YOU get first in my situation? I am definitely eventually going to get both, it will just take a long while since I have to wait until November just to get one.
Added (1). How does wanting a pet, but also wanting a camera say anything about me not being ready? I'm more than ready for a hamster. I just really want something else, too. Like I said, I am going to get both, eventually, I just don't know which to get first, so I'm not 'debating' which one to get. Since I'm definitely getting both.
Added (2). @LocoCoco - You're the second person to ask me that. One of them is my best friend… YES, people take hamsters to vets. I hate when people ask that. You take cats or dogs to vets to, right? Hamsters aren't any less living then a dog or a cat. You don't just let the poor little guy suffer.

What Canon DLSR camera is best?

I'm I want to get a canon DLSR camera. Whats better, T1i, T2i, T3i, or the T4i? I don't want to go over $1000. I'm mainly going to be using it for videography. I'm not really a fan of Nikon cameras. I heard the T2i has the 7D guts so it's great all around. But, it seems alittle outdated. I'm mainly going to be using it for videography. I'm not really a fan of Nikon cameras.

What camera should I use for youtube?

Hi!
So I was thinking about buying a new camera. And the camera I probably will buy (Nikon D7000) doesn't have a vari-angle LCD screen, but can you still do like vlogs without it or is that really hard? Should I buy Nikon D5200 instead?

The thing is, I want to do more than just vlogs so.yeah (that sounded weird, or was it just me that thought that?)
Added (1). At the moment I have a Nikon D3000, which you can't film with. That's why I'm getting a new camera.

Can you get SLR looking pics on a mirror less camera?

I have several DSLR camers (a sony A360 and my baby Sony a99).
I tried the Sony nex-5 and the Nikon v1 in store. Even tho the images were vivid and sharp the images didn't have that rich SLR look (contrast and color saturation).

Im basically looking for a ultra portable cam that can take pro level images when I dont have my DSLRs around.

What are specific lens's for?

I was just wondering what what different lenses are best suited for, for example, the nikon D5100 comes with two lens's a 18-55, and a 55-300, i know that the 55-300 is probably intended for zoom, but is that all, just how much you need to zoom? what should you use the separate lens's for specifically? Thank you :)

How to use use bulb mode (Nikon d5100) with wireless remote?

Hi! I'm a beginner in photography. I'm wondering how to keep the bulb mode open for long exposure using wireless remote. I'm using Phottix strato II.Is it possible to use it? It seems when I'm trying to use it for shutter release, it won't do long exposure. The first time I click it it would just automatically take pictures, and I thought it was supposed to keep the shutter open until I click it again. And when I tried to put it in another mode, the remote won't do anything. :'( Please help.
