Deal to go to be true?

I put an ad up on CL 2 days looking for a New Nikon D600 and 70-200 VR II

And this guy emailed me saying he can get the Lens(FOR $1850) and Camera(FOR $1800) everything brand new in box but he would have to order them which takes 7-10 days. I pay no money upfront all he asks is that I have the money ready once they arrive and be patient.

I should also note he says that he sells photo gear on the side and its not his primary job.

It all sounds to good to be true so im wondering if I should give it a shot or just buy them new at my local camera shop.

Fixed lens for Nikon D3100?

Right now I own a fixed 35mm Lens, but lately I've been a little unhappy. I feel like the only way to get a great depth of field with my lens is to be relatively close to my subject. I was curious if I could get a better depth of field with a 50mm lens. Say I was taking a picture of a person, and I wanted ankles to the head in my picture, would I be able to get a better depth of field with a 50mm than with a 35mm. Would you suggest that I just save for a 50mm 1.4?

Taking photos of dodgeball players?

I have a nikon d300 and i was asked to take photos of some friends playing dodgeball.the lighting isnt that great in building, yet i dont want to use flash and blind or distract them.what settings should i be set to for low lighting and action shots? any help would be greatly appreciated.thanks

Are there any reasons to not get a nikon lense with this adapter for my camera?

I have a canon rebel t2i. I want to upgrade soon, but i'm leaning towards getting a nikon. Nikon lenses are excellent. Canon, so-so. I would rather buy a Nikon lense. (50mm 1.8) Are there any reasons to not get a nikon lense with this adapter (below) for my camera?

I'm actually looking for a smaller and lighter camera than the big SLR (and i already have the D7000)
and I'm currently traveling, so i need a camera to carry every where with me and gives a sharp pic (to use for theme parks-people- landscape).
and I've seen lots of the mirror-less cams but i don't know witch one is better and if they r good or not and I've tried the Nikon j1 and it was really bad especially at low-light.

Where can i buy a decent camera lens?

I have a nikon panasonic dmc-g10 and i can find an atachable 52mm lens anywhere and i darent spend all the money on an online site incase its not real or something.
its just the lense i got with it doesnt zoom in much and the manual focus isnt all that good:(

I have brought this camera ( nikon d3100 ) and I don't know how to get that movie look in my videos. I know it depends on things like lightening etc so I want to know does it also depends on the lens. I have seen commercials recordings using such a cam. If yes I want to know what kind of a lens should I use ( kindly specify the lens size ) and thank you much in.

I have a studio shoot tonight (my first one) and without looking a wally wanted to know if I need a lens hood? If its not completely necessary then I will order online and save £15… if I definitely need it ill have to go jessops now and pay alot more. This is an amatuer shoot so I wont be selling any of the photos… the model is professional though.
I think the lighting will be… light over the top of the model and one at the bottom.she will be on little platform.

Also, I have a nikon 18-55mm kit lens and a nikon 18-200mm vr2… which one would be best to use?

What's the problem? Nikon D3100?

I bought this DSLR around half year ago, and that time just probably wanted to take photographs for college assignments.but for this semester, videography subject was included. Which i found out that everytime i record with my NIKON D3100, its has a lot of NOISE whenever i activated live view or even recording, my setting was:

ISO= 100 (low and still alot noise, really no idea)
aperture = F5.6 (i think this was not affect by the way)
shutter S = 1/50
resolution = 1280 720 30fps / 25fps
and manual exposure, class 10 8gb sd card

so any other problem which i didnt or forgot to change? THE NOISE was so disturb and i really need help for this cause my assignment gonna delay if this doesnt solve
Added (1). Yup, its always activated, i didnt off before, and never
Added (2). Yea… ISO 100 for pretty sure, and i had try 200 or even 400 but its still the same, noise argh…

Nikon D3100 stops taking pictures long exposure?

I am taking 30 second exposures of star trails with a nikon shutter wire release.It will take the 30 second pictures over and over but, I come back after 3 hours and the camera stopped taking pictures after about an hour.Is there a setting I can change to fix this?
Added (1). Battery works fine.

What are my best options! HELP!

I am a beginner photographer and have a recently purchased Nikon D5100. I bought the kit lens (18-55mm) with it as well.

I am helping a friend out with some portraits. They know I'm a beginner and aren't expecting unbelievable quality, nonetheless, I myself want decent quality photos.

Like stated, the only lens I own is a 18-55mm.So what are the best settings and options for setting up my camera for single portraits of people and a few group shots? I am going to say mainly outdoors for this situation.
So how should I set up my camera?

Is there any video editing software not compatible with a Nikon camera?

Im thinking of getting the Nikon D5100 as my first DSLR camera to do my film and media AS level work on, because the cameras in my college aren't brilliant.My first piece is for Film Studies and needs doing in December, I have to create a film. However we have to do the editing in college after Christmas.So before I go buying the camera I have to make sure it works with all types of editing software (so I can edit at home as well as in college, for when I make my new YouTube videos) so is there any out there, that are not able to work for Nikon cameras?

I can't edit NEF files with ViewNX 2?

I'm trying to edit Nikon RAW (.nef) files with ViewNX2.
I have an image selected with the program with the edit feature. The Adjustments tab on the side of the image has all the options greyed out, and I can't make any adjustments. For example, the white balance, exposure, sharpness, and etc, sliders are all greyed out and I can't change them.

How can I fix this?
If not, is there another program that can edit.nef files much better than ViewNX2?
