NIKON D80 IS giving me a FEE error on 2 lenses?

Hi I have a D80 and D200, I would exchange lenses with no problem… I have the 80-200 older push lens 2.8 and a 35-70 macro 2.8 both Nikkor and older lenses; from one day to the other my d80 is giving me a FEE on both lenses. I put them on my d200 and I have no problem, I cleaned the contacts and it didn't fix the problem, I also have my aperture rings locked to the highest f-stop as they should. Its obvious its not the lenses but my d80 I would think. I'm thinking if perhaps I could of moved something in the setting or the camera that could of done this. I have not dropped it and the camera only been shot like 10, 000 shots it mostly been a back up and well taken care of. Has anyone had any similar problems, or know of any tips to go about this; my last resort is to take it in to get it checked out.

Photos are underexposed?!

Ok, so I was using my square nd filters which i stacked 3 together(0.3,0.6,0.9) and i was taking photos on a sunny dayof flowing water. When i used my cameras settings on aperture priority mode my photos came out really underexposed (like nearly black) and when i went on auto settings the same thing happened! Why is this happening? How can I fix this? How can I stop it from happening?!

Do i use my memory card when taking pictures of someone else?

I'm NOT a professional photographer, but i have a D3200 Nikon camera that my dad got for me, because i make some videos on youtube, and i also found that i Really love taking pictures. Well, my mom asked me to take some shots of her and then fix up some of her flaws (in her words!) using photoshop, and she really liked them and showed her friends at work, so now she told me that a couple of her friends want me to take their pictures and fix them up too, so my question is, do i just take their pictures using my memory card for the camera and then just email their pictures to them when I'm done? Sorry if its a stupid question, I'm just not sure how it works. Do photographers clients bring their own memory cards or something? But since I'm not professional or anything, do i just take the photos with my memory card full of my pictures? Thanks for any answers!

How to possibly save up for an expensive camera as a teenager?

I'm a 14 year old girl obsessed with videography/ photography and wanting to upgrade my cam. I've got a standard Nikon dslr which I've had for a couple years and love it just I feel that I'm not able to use it to the best of my abilities because it is a very beginner camera and its not too well for video. The problem is is that the camera I want http://www.amazon.com/Panasonic-DMC-GH4KBODY-16-05MP-Mirrorless-Cinematic/dp/B00I9GYG8O/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top?ie=UTF8 is 1.5k$ body only and as a teenager I can't have a job to make that kind of money. Ive wanted this camera for half a year and never saved up because I just saw it as so unrealistic and I still do because its just a lot of money but I really want to pursue my hobby and hopefully future career by buying it. Nikon DSLR Shutter disabled, motor not working problem?

I dropped my Nikon D3000 and it says the shutter release button has been disabled. I went to a camera repairshop and the man there said they will just clean the motor and it'll take 45 minutes before my camera gets fixed. 45 minutes has passed and the repairman said the motor isn't working and he'll just call me once it is fixed. He said he may have to replace the motor. It's been 3 days and he hasn't called yet. What should I do and why isn't the motor working? I feel like I'm getting scammed by this repairman.
Added (1). I'm trying to call him and he won't respond to my texts. The shop charged me 35 dollars, they said I'll have to wait 45 minutes. 45 minutes passed and they said the motor is still not working. Sunday came and still no text message.

Which cheap waterproof camera would you pick between these 2. Need opinion?

Hello I'm on a budget for a cheap-ish waterproof camea under $150 for a vacation where we will be snorkeling. I am torn between Target's the PANASONIC TS25 (Orange Lumix) priced on sale at $140 OR the NIKON S33 in white. Both waterproof. I looked at the specs and the nikon s33 seems to have an advantage in HD Video at 1080HD, but other than that I'm not sure. A comparison website said to go with the Panasonic. What do you guys think if you HAD to choose between the 2. Please don't say neither or suggest any other cameras.

Can I point my Nikon d5300 up at the sun?

I've been into photography for a few years now and I just recently upgraded to a Nikon d5300. All of my other cameras have been "point and shoot" so they weren't very expensive. Now that I have a very nice dslr, I want to make sure that I take very good care of it. I've been trying to do some research, but haven't found any definitive answers.

And when I say "pointing it up at the sun" I mean at sunset/sunrise. I like to take a lot of golden hour photos. I already know not to point a camera up around the noon hour of the day. I have the Nikkor 18-140mm lens and the Nikkor 50mm lens, are these safe to use in the sun? Also, I do have UV filters on both lenses ( I know they don't do much, but I'm using them for protection right now until I can get some better filters)

Sorry if this is a novice question, but I just want to make sure I am doing the right thing for my camera. Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

Which site is better, eBay or Amazon?

I currently use eBay because that auctions and you can get stuff really cheap from auctions. They also allow a buyer to seller direct communication. What I mean by this is that on Amazon and I'll show you one picture for a bunch of different items. For example, if I want a camera then I will see a picture of a specific model of a camera. Then, I will buy that item now this is where I don't like Amazon. They will send you that specific camera but not really the specific camera and the picture. For example, if I want a camera then I will see a picture of a specific model of a camera. Then, I will buy that item now this is where I don't like Amazon. They will send you that specific camera but not really the specific camera in the picture. But with eBay item you see in the picture is the item you get. Also on Amazon you can type in Nikon and you cannot choose sort by lowest price without first choosing a category, but on eBay you can. What I'm trying to say is I like eBay better than Amazon because it's much more like going through a store, What you see is what you get. Both Amazon it's hard to find the item, it's hard to find the cheapest item, and it's impossible to see what you are buying. Plus on eBay if the seller screws you over eBay will reimburse you. So please tell me why everyone thinks Amazon is better, thanks!

DJI Phantom 3 Pro or new Nikon?

I'm currently using a Nikon D5100 that I've had for about 2 years (I think). I'm interested in getting a drone but everyone I have spoken to (non drone owners) have had very non supportive comments.
I want to know how often everyone uses their drones and if they regret buying it. I live in a small village so I wouldn't be able to use it daily due to laws & possible complaints. I also work full time / college Monday to Saturday as a chef. But I would love to have a photography business as well.

Hiw much longer will my Nikon D3200 last?

I favor this model, however I plan to update next year.

I've taken great quality photos with this for almost two years. I do photography here locally in my city. Portraits, kids, couples, weddings, parties, ads, ect.

I've taken 58,031 photos with it so far. And that's what I've KEPT and NOT deleted. When I search this model most say the shutters dont go much further over 50,000. Well… I take 100-600 per session. And that averages 4-7 a week. Plus a wedding averaging each month that I usually do 2,000 shot by the time the day is up.

Its never given me any problems. I keep my baby clean and treat it gently.

Should I make a Facebook photography page of the people of my school?

So I have seen alot of pages like this, for instance: Humans of New York. My friend made a page of his school and it was/is sucessfull till now. I recently shifted to USA, as a Freshman in HighSchool ( About to be over in a day) and I was thinking to start photographing people in my school from sophmore year and write what they tell, probably who are they or something he/she did and was proud. I might make it on Instagram maybe because most of the people in my school dont use facebook. How does this idea sound? Is it lame or its a cool one? Will it work out eventually?

Its my hobby to photograph. I have been doing photography since the last 2 years. Back in my place I used to work for a magazine and My images were posted on their monthly releases, So im Pretty sure I can handle this and bring out beautiful pictures though the lighting conditions are terrible in some rooms. I currently use a Nikon D7100 with VR 18-140mm and two prime lenses, 28mm Wide angle and 50mm normal prime.

Im concerned about safety too because I would probably carry my camera and lenses at least 3 days or more/less a week. As far as I saw, Its safe but there are people who steal stuff from other kids and sell them at a cheap price. They are my classmates and im their friend too, But still I cannot trust them as its been only 3 months on the school. My camera and lens are really really expensive and I would never want to lose them lol.

Anyways thank you for your attention.
Have a nice day:)

Tough situation with low-light indoor photography and cameras?

I'm having a very difficult time with deciding if -- and how -- to use a Canon DSLR -- an EOS-1D Mark II -- that I received a while back.

Here's my problem. In a few weeks, I'm supposed to shoot a meeting that will be in a room that's not very brightly lit. The subjects will be stationary, which is good. But anyway, in a low-light room, a low ISO obviously won't do. But a higher ISO will mean more sensor "noise", which is what I want to avoid.

The EOS-1D Mark II is old but good quality, I'm told… But it has no built-in flash. I know it has a "hot shoe" for mounting a flash unit, but I've not used one of those before, so I don't know whether there'd be a steep learning-curve.

Alternatively, I can use another DSLR I own, a Nikon D40X, which DOES have a built-in flash… Though I'm told the image detail is not as good as the Mark II.

So what can or should I do? If I want to use the Canon, do I pretty much need a flash unit to make up for the low indoor light? Or is there something I can do with the settings (ISO, etc) that would make buying a flash unnecessary?

Or would I be better off just "biting the bullet" a little (with image quality) and use the Nikon that already has the built-in flash?

Any thoughts very much appreciated. I'm sure this sounds a "duh" question to a lot of folks, but I've got some long-term memory problems (due to a medical condition), so it seems like I can't remember much of what I learned back when I took photography courses.

Using a 35mm as a walk about lens for Musems, Beach, sight seeing etc?

Hello,
I bought a D5100 about a year ago and have been using a 50-200mm lens for taking photos of birds in the backgarden.
However, in a few weeks time I will be taking my family to Devon for a weeks holiday.
I wanted to pick up a semi decent lens that I can use for family photos, local attractions like museums, Beach photos, scenary etc.

I tried a friends £600 zoom lens (17-70) and found it to be pretty good but I always stuck around 20-40mm. However, this is majorly out of my price range and like I say never felt the need to go high than 40mm.
I was just wondering has any one used a 35mm as a walk about lens? Do you feel a 35mm would be good for the above situations? I have seen quite a few for under £200, all with great reviews.

How to keep image quality great when transferring pictures from photoshop?

What is the best way to transfer my pictures from photoshop to my phone or social media, without them losing a lot of the quality? I shoot with a Nikon D3200 and once I'm done editing pics on photoshop the don't quite come out the same way on my phone. What can I do to keep the same quality and what is the best way to transfer pictures from your computer to your phone?

Why won't my DSLR shoot in aperture mode?

Whenever it's in aperture mode the shutter makes one noise and takes about 10 seconds to make the second. When I look at the picure it's just one great blur. The shutter shuts but doesn't open till about 10 seconds after. This happens on aperture mode no matter what the (number) is. Why?

Thanks. My camera is a nikon d3100.

Is the extra pair of 55-200mm lenses worth it for the priceof the bundle?

So I'm about to buy soon my first dslr camera. I've been eyeing the nikon D3300 recently. At $500, it comes with the camera itself and 18-55mm lenses. However, jumping the price to $600 gets me an additional 55-200mm lenses. I'm currently am asking if that $100 price jump is worth it in the end. I mostly plan on taking shots with little zoom, but I may occasionaly need the additional zoom. Should I buy the additional lenses or not and deal with the lesser range of potential zoom?

Here's a link to the camera:

Camera connect to tv?

I have a Nikon L830 and the lcd screen does not flip around. I make YouTube videos and want to be able to see I'm in frame. Before I go out and buy a mini hdmi to reg hdmi cable to test it, I wanted to know if I can plug my camera into a TV and see real time? I've tried to google it and I can't find anything with my model camera. I believe it's called tethering. Basically I want to see myself on my tv in realtime while I record it.
Thanks!

A prime lens vs a zoom lens for a holiday/landscape?

Hey guys. I know this MAY be a bit vague to answer but i'd appreciate ANY input. I currently own a D5100 with a Kit 18-55mm lens (which is worse than my old Bridge camera lens in terms of quality. I think it has a fault) and a 55-300mm lens which is amazing. Seeing as I normally use the 55-300mm lens I have never thought about getting a wider lens… Until now.

In a few weeks time I will be travelling to Greece with my girlfriend on our first holiday. As it's our first holiday I want to be able to get some great photos of us and of the scenery (beaches, etc). As you can tell my 55-300mm lens isn't really going to do the job. So, I've decided to buy a new, somewhat cheap, lens that would be great for landscape/scenery, museums and also for portraits.

My budget is £100-£250 (at a push for a prime) but I will go a little higher for a zoom.

My first idea was to go for a 17-70mm lens like this one http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sigma-17-70mm-2-8-4-HSM-Nikon/dp/B00AXZZ034/ref=cm_cd_al_qh_dp_t

However, i've noticed a lot of people saying you can't go wrong with a good 35mm lens when it comes to Landscape and portraits photography due to the pin sharpness compared to a zoom lens. Is this true?

My only requirements is if possible it has to have some kind of Optical Stabilizer, fits to a D5100 and also is as cheap as possible. So if you're kind enough to give a suggestion. No £900 lens lol:) Thank you!

Which camera is right for me? - 2

I've been researching about cameras for a long time and all of the cameras that I have owned before have been point and shoot cameras. Looking at Pinterest, I started to have interests in photography. I want a high quality camera that is under $700 and I can mess with the settings, but great for beginners learning about photography and very simple to use. Thanks for all of the answers! :)

Low-Light Photography?

I use a Nikon D5200
-Nikkor 50mm f1.8
-Nikkor 55-200mm f4-5.6 AF/VR
-Nikkor 18-55mm f3.5-4.6 AF/VR

In addition I use a tripod.

I am alright/good with taking pictures with sufficient light, but, who isn't…

I suck terribly with low-light - too much noise (too high ISO), or, when I'm taking pictures of lit object surrounded by darkness, for example, the skyline of my city at night - the lights will either be vastly over exposed or the darkness will be disgustingly noisy/orangish-brown (though that may just be light pollution)

What are some tips/tricks - things to read?
In reality, how do I find a balance between shutter time and ISO - and should I buy a flash/reflectors?

How to solve this focusing issue on my DSLR?

I filmed the contents of the following video with a Nikkor 35 mm prime lens using Nikon D3200. I set the focusing mode to Auto. And the sights in the video were constantly alternating between in-focus and out-of-focus.

I wonder how I could I have brought everything in focus all through video without it going in-focus then out-of-focus then in-focus?

(Manual focusing would not have solved the issue, for in that case I would have to manually adjust the focus every few seconds)

How to trigger Britek PS-300H Studio Flash with Nikon D40 via sync cord?

I am using a Nikon D40 camera (with AS10 type flash adapter) to trigger my Britek PS-300 Studio Flash via a sync cord. When it is on manual the flash is not triggered. However, when the camera is placed on automatic the flash goes off every time. I try to shoot the cameras with the "pop up" down but after shooting a few photos it pops up (by itself) although the flash adapter and sync cord is connected.
How do I get the Britek PS-300H studio flash to fire every time on manual. I use camera settings of: 640 f5.6 and iso Auto. I tried several combinations of camera settings but none worked consistently well.

What Dslr to upgrade to from a sony a230?

I'm going to be graduating soon and i will be gettin about $500 or more and i plan on selling my sony a230 so i can upgrade my camera. I want to upgrade because of its size, battery, and some other things. I am leaning more towards a Canon or Nikon because i have owned a pentax and didn't find it very suiting. I tried out my uncles Canon EOS rebel (forget which one) and really liked it, having a button for each thing was very handy too instead of scrolling through a menu.

Any ideas as to what might suit me best
my price range is about 500-700 but a cheaper camera with more lenses will work too
(yes i know i'm picky)

Nikon D3200: which lens?

Nikon D3200: which lens?
Added (1). So I was planning on getting the Nikon D3200 with a 18-55mm VR II lens, my first ever DSLR,
but now I'm pondering whether I should get the D3200 with the standard kit lens for 360 euros, or look for an alternative. Will I be satisfied with the kit lens (Can it go really sharp?) and could I just drop the pics into lightroom (any examples of great unedited kit lens photos taken with the D3200 would be welcome), or should I get a 35mm, or 18-200mm, etc., pushing my budget beyond its original limit?

Which camera to buy: Canon EOS 1200D DSLR or Sony Alpha3000(A3000) Mirrorless?

I have a set budget and confused which one to go for. I am a photography enthusiast and need the camera for personal reasons, not proffesional photography

I am a die-hard Canon fan, I have used cheap digicams from Canon that has taken excellent shots, I have tried Nikon and Fujifilm cameras too but both have really bad quality, I really think Canon is the best

however I have recently noticed Sony mirrorless cameras are capable of taking excellent,HD quality pictures

recently a friend of mine got the Alpha3000 and her pictures are just out of the world quality such clarity, detail excellent pictures

keep in mind this friend is a begineer and has in the past taken shitty pics with nikon camera so it is surely the camera that is good and not the photographer, she is an amateur begineer, more so than me

however the sony is a mirrorless camera, and I want a proper DSLR, the 1200D is an entry level DSLR but still a DSLR means many features and options to work your skills

Currently I do not have budget for more high end DSLRs

Please suggest
Added (1). also both camera have a 18-55 mm lense, however I can buy any canon lense in the future and use with the EOS1200D, with sony I am struck with one lense forever

I want to be able to print the photographs to hang on the wall. A decent sized poster for somebody to have on their wall at least.

I also have a Nikon D5000. Also kit lens 18-55.

Thank you for the help.

Does camera flash affect cats?

I just took a picture of myself with flash by accident, and my cat was sleeping next to me. It wasn't a direct flash, but it was close to him. I have a small nikon camera, the flash is not so strong. I waved my finger in front of him, he seemed to follow it with his eyes/head. Will he be fine? I'm really worried, do cats go blind easily? Am I worrying too much? It wasn't a direct flash, just a side flash. It didn't scare him too much. BTW, he's 2 years old.
