Opinions on Nikon D7100?

I'm interested in purchasing a newer, more advanced Nikon DSLR body. I've been looking at the D7100, and since it's so new there's not many reviews on it.

Does anyone have it? What's it like, any special features?

And anyone else with a Nikon similar to the D7100?

Please give me your opinions as well as sample photos if possible. Thank you.

Will a 4.5-14x40 Nikon be sufficient enough for varmint hunting?

I am looking at the Nikon 4.5-14x40 Buckmaster to put on my .223 AR. will this give me enough power to hit a groundhog around 325 yards? Or should I go for a 4-16?

My camera has stopped recognising my shutter release cable?

I have a Nikon D5000 and have started doing some night photography and with some nice results, however I bought a 'Shoot' shutter release cable from Ebay a few weeks back, initially everything went well, however my camera has stopped recognising it, if the back of the camera is lit up & I press it, the camera goes dark as if there is something happening, but the actual shutter release doesn't activate… it was fine last night when I was out using it.

Can someone suggest a good lens for my nikon D600?

… I am looking for one that is great for macro shots and portraits. I would like it to go to f/1.4 at least and make beautiful bokeh.

Nikon d7000 broken autofocus Repair or Exchange after 4 day use?

I just purchased a brand new Nikon d7000 and after 4 days of use the Autofocus stopped working!

I was wondering which would be better? To send it to Nikon for Repair? or To send it back to the Store for an Exchange? Why?

I worry on both because. I don't want to send it away for repair and have something else go wrong with it once I get it back… after all it doesn't really bode well to be having a brand new camera repaired after only 4 days use. And I also worry that if I exchange it I will end up with another problem camera! Thoughts?
Added (1). Did all the stuff both of you mentioned. Read through almost the whole manual, checked all the autofocus & lock buttons, checked ALL menu settings, even tried reattaching the lens again! Nothing! Won't focus.

How to improve on portraits?

When I shoot certain portraits in the middle of the day, their face and body might at times be hidden in shadows. I know using a fill flash might help, but there are other ways of taking better pictures. I try using a reflector, too. Also, I was informed that I should invest in a 50mm lens for portraiture. I use a Nikon D3100.

How to take pictures like this? - 2

Hello! I've just picked up photography as a hobby and have been learning about some really neat ways to take pictures. I see pictures like this all the time and I was always curious how do they come out like this? Is is a Photoshop effect? Lighting effect? Combination of both? Any advice would fantastic :) I'm taking a trip with some friends to a waterfall and I'd like to put this effect on it when they all go jumping off. Unless it's more suited for dark light settings and such. Thank you.

Since there will be a lot of running, would anyone know the best setting on a Nikon 3100 for catching something like this and running. Best for fast motion. Thank you again.

Nikkor 50mm f1.8 or 16-85?

I have a D5200 and im going to be doing portraits. I really like zoom lenses, but i have heard that upgrading from my kit lens(18-55) to 16-85 isn't going to give me MUCH sharper images.So, is the 50mm f1.8 really that sharp??? If so, What zoom lens would be as sharp as this prime???
