How to make a movie?

We have average camera's, one or two HD video camera's, some digital cameras and a Nikon D3100, a few tripods I think. But there is a huge difference between good looking movies and homemade ones, though I want to make the good looking ones. If you look at a normal good movie like Forrest Gump (Fantastic movie, but I mean "normal good movie" with quality) and compare that to a NigaHiga movie, you can see that NigaHiga does everything himself. I think it's the lightning that affects it, not sure. I use Sony Vegas 11 Movie Platinum, and I can adjust the color a bit with that.
But what makes the movie quality so. "Movie-ish"?

Should I sell my Camera Gear?

So I've been thinking about Selling my Nikon D700&D300 w/ accessories to buy a Nikon D600 & 70-200 VR II but I have my doubts about the D600 compared to the D700.My equipment right now doesn't get much usage because of school and I can't shoot on weekends because of a family situation.
Added (1). My plan was to sell both of my Current set ups to buy the D600 and 70-200 VR II

which would give me the D600 24-70 & 70-200 VR II as my Set up to use until I can afford a D800

My current set up is
D700+24-70+2xSB-700+MB-D10
D300+70-300+SB-600+MB-D10

Cant decide on a SLR?

Ok, so im new to SLR camera's but eager to start using one.Im not rich so im going to buy used. Ive narrowed it down to the older Nikon d200 or the newer Canon t3 1100d. Can anybody help me decide? Thanks you!

Nikon D90X flashing Err, P and metering system?

Just recently the problem suddenly occurred and my camera started flashing Err. If I change it to manual mode 'M' the M does no flash like the P does, same with the metering system, but no matter what I try the shutter speed, it never reverses. One more thing, I've already read the manual, pressed the green reset buttons, taken out the batteries and taken out the lens? Any other options?

I was just wandering as i like the look of the D7000 and most likely it will go down in price when the next model is released so do you guys know when it may be released.

Nikon D5000 won't charge or turn on?

So I have a nikon d5000. I love this camera and I've had it for about a year and a half, maybe two years now. I haven't used it in quite a few months though. I put it away in one of my bedroom drawers when the battery was drained out because I couldn't find the charger so I didn't have any use for it at that point. But I just recently cleaned out my room and found the wall charger and the camera again. I left it on the charger overnight and it wont turn on and the light on it isn't blinking or anything when it's attached to the charger… What can I do to get it to turn on/charge?

So i wanna do some light grafitti with my nikon d5100. I know how to do everything BUT set the actual speed. If i try to take a picture it takes like one picture and doesnt give me time to do ANYTHING. HOW DO I FIX THIS!

Shooting Basketball Indoors?

I have a Nikon d40 with a 200 mm lens, a 35 mm lens, and an 18-105 mm lens. I have never shot a basketball game before and I heard it's difficult to shoot pictures because of the lighting. Any ideas on what I should do?
