How to take pictures at night? Nikon D5100?

This is going to be such a stupid question but I don't know how to. Like when I click the button to take a photo it doesn't do it because it's too dark, but obviously it's light enough outside because I can see things. I want to take pictures of some building which are lit up etc.

I'm new with this camera so sorry for this question, I have an 18-55mm Nikon lens and a 55-200mm VR lens,

I read that I need to manual focus it, but what else? Or is that all? I don't know lol. Any tips would be great!

Need help - Nikon SB910?

I bought a new Nikon SB910.when I try to take pictures with the Flash mounted the flash is emitting three lights when the shutter button is pressed.what setting should I follow to remove that two (alert or whatever) light before the actual flash light.

I would like to find a compact digital camera that has excellent zoom and mega pixel quality but it should also take multiple frames per second. I normally like to buy Nikon or Canon cameras, but open to suggestions. Ideally under $300 and something able to buy through a normal retailer.

Can anyone tell me how to fix the lever on my Nikon 35mm film camera?

I'm taking a photography class. We are using 35mm cameras. I have a Nikon FM 35mm film camera. I loaded the film in the camera and I went to pull the lever on my camera and it won't go all the way. I'm not sure how to fix it. Can anyone please tell me how to fix it?

Is the Sunpak 2000 bz thyristor flash compatible with Nikon D5000?

Will it damage my camera in the long run? The flash is intended for my old manual camera but the Sunpak 2000 bz thyristor flash works with my nikon d5000.
