Nikon D3000 'lens not attached'?
Hi, I'm sure this has been asked thousands of times, but there are so many answer of no relevance, I thought I would start from scratch.
I have just bought a Nikon D3000 and the sigma 24-70mm lens. This isn't for myself and I have no clue about cameras, so any help would be appreciated.
It says 'lens not attached' when in anything other than manual mode.
When in manual mode, i take photos but they are black.
Anyone had this problem and found the solution? Am I using entirely the wrong lens?
Thanks in advance.

Best Nikon lens for low-light wildlife photography?
I'm going on a safari soon and need a good telephoto lens for my Nikon D3100. I was going to go with the basic 55-200mm, but the maximum aperture is only 4, and on the 55-300mm it's 4.5. The animals are out early in the morning and late at night, so the light won't be great. I've heard that for low-light wildlife photography you need at least an aperture of 2.8, but the 70-200mm f/2.8 VS and VSII are both really expensive. Do I really need the f/2.8? Also, will 200mm of zoom be enough? Thank you!

How to use manual flash on a dslr?
i want to buy one of those flashes that hook to the top of a DSLR. (i have a nikon d3200)
I'm saving money and buying a cheap one that is manual only, no TTL. I've never used a flash before, not even the one built in the camera.
i want to know how you know what brightness to use on the flash, and what aperture, iso, and shutter speed to use to correctly expose a picture.
and I'm not doing studio portraits. I need more light for things like taking a picture at a birthday party or something. I'm going to be in situations where i can't take 5 photos and mess with the flash in-between and change settings with each shot. One, two photos, with hardly any time wasted is what i need, but i also need to expose correctly with a manual flash and i don't know how to do it.
the flash i want to buy is called "DBK DF-400 Flash Speed light". Its on Amazon.
so how do you know how to get correct exposure with this flash?
i tried googling it but all the tutorials on google and youtube are pretty bad. And i need things explained very simple.

Why is my compact shooting terrible videos at 720p HD?
I have a Nikon L27 compact camera, and I'm trying to shoot videos with it. I've set the setting to 720p (this appears to be the highest resolution setting), and on the 2.7 inch display screen it looks fine… Although that could be because the screen is so small. However simply transferring the files to my computer and watching them fullscreen there (keeping in mind that my screen is only 10.1 inches!) they look really, really grainy and awful. Why is this and how can I fix it? Also are there any fairly cheap camcorders you could recommend?
