Canon Powershot G16/G7X or Nikon P7800/P340?
Hi All,
Looking to buy a good quality pocket size (or near) camera but am a little stumped as to which. While I want it to take great photos overall I do shoot a lot low light/night action shots and video.
I like to take a lot of concert videos in small venues so it would have to be really good/great (image stabilization) in that respect. Stereo sound as well. I have narrowed it down to these but would like opinions from actual owners. Thanks in advance!

Nikkormat FT and lens compatibility?
I have a Nikkormat FT camera and wish to use it with my Nikon AF 50mm 1.4D lens. Is this lens compatible? Will it damage my lens? I am interested in using the light meter on the camera as it is not in working condition.

Why can't I use a Canon speedlight off camera as a slave to a Nikon's optical trigger?
How does the speedlight know that Canon is not sending the trigger flash?
Is there some kind of radio signal from my Canon camera telling my Canon speedlight to go off? Then why can't it work without the flash? Because there is no radio trigger, you have to pay extra for that, and it only works for the 600ex rt.
So how does it know?
And how the heck does it read the TTL information?
side note: Girlfriend uses Nikon (has commander mode). Yongnuo speedlight works as a slave for both our cameras (doesn't have TTL).
