I have a Nikon D5000. The burst mode function is very slow for some odd reason. The shutter curtain seems to move at the correct speed, but the mirror is what seems to be lagging—seriously lagging (I can only take a bout one picture per second).
I've dropped the camera once, but managed to fix the shutter curtain, and my camera worked fine. The last time I used it was about a week ago and it worked without issue. What gives? I don't see how it would just stop functioning properly. Is this a common occurrence? Should I just say screw it and buy a new camera body?
I'd appreciated any insight, because I'm seriously about to smash my camera with a sledgehammer and stop wasting my time and money with photography. I don't say this in jest.
Thank you in advance.
