I have a Nikon D5100 and I consider buying a 50mm AF lens and perhaps a 70-300mm AF or 55-200mm AF, and I know that it won't autofocus on my camera.
My question is, is it really worth the price if I buy AF-S lenses, one that would autofocus on my camera? Or should I stick to the AF?
I admit that I get a bit pissed when I use my 18-55mm in manual focus because the rotation is "too soft", and I also thought that it would be "different" when it comes to adjusting the focus on a prime and zoom lens manually.
P.S. I'm quite fine in handling focus on manual film SLRs too, and it didn't give me a headache like what I do with my dslr's kit lens.
Thanks!
