How to film a concert on a dslr?

I have a Nikon d5300 camera, and would love to film concerts on it. I was recently at a small concert this past weekend, and taped the whole thing. The video and sound quality was amazing, a little too amazing. The camera picked up all the sounds of the audience singing along to the point where you could barely hear the singer. I am going to a Lana Del Rey concert later this month that will have thousands of people in the audience, and a Marina and the Diamonds concert where I will be in the very front of the venue; is there any way to get good sound on the recordings without the audience noises ruining the video?
