My new glasses give me vertigo?

I recently started working at an eye clinic and bought a new pair of glasses from my work. My work uses a very top notch Nikon digital lense which I've never had before and my prescription changed quite a bit since my last pair of glasses (which have a very basic lense). With my new glasses I got, when I put them on I instantly feel nauseated and off balance. The floor looks slanted and makes me feel like I'm falling and I run into things! Things are distorted and look like they stick out at me or look bent, etc. I know it's not my prescription because I have contacts for this prescription too and they are perfectly fine. I think it might be the lense? I'm going to ask the optometrist tomorrow but has anybody else experienced this?
