Good DSLR for video and stills?

I'm looking for a DSLR that shoots stills and videos, Canon or Nikon - I don't mind- I currently own a D80 and really like it, however it doesn't shoot video…

My budget is around £350 maybe a bit more depending on the camera.

For some reason I really don't like the d3200 so please don't say that! :) thanks:DDD

- Need it for media and want to get into either Photography or video-ography

How to choose my first 50mm lens?

I have my canon eos camera and been using kit lens which is obviously not very good so I decided to buy some affordable 50mm lens.

I'm quite tight on a budget ($100) so I choose between canon EF 50 1.8 and cheaper lenses but with 1.4 aperture like Fujinon, Yashica, Takumar, Pentax though most of them should be used with an adapter which I'll also have to buy.

My questions:

1. Are those minor brands worth attention?
2. What's the best 50mm lens I can have for my money right now?

Thanks everyone

Buying my first DSLR camera? - 1

I want to know the general public's opinion of a quality dslr, without it costing the earth. And I realise investing in great lenses are key as well, so feel free to offer some lens suggestions as well!

My brother has a canon 600d and my sister has the OM-d Em5 (the sexiest of the two, but not sure on quality?)
Added (1). Price range between $500-1000
Added (2). I'm interested in any kind of photography (scenic, portrait, wedding, etc), so should i buy different lenses for different things?

What lens should I choice?

I have an Nikon D800. Even though It's a professional camera, I am novice.
Besides, I have 3 lenses which are 24mm-70mm F/2.8, 70mm-200mm F/2.8 and 35mm F/1.4.

I enjoy large aperture since it could blur background. Although 35mm F/1,4 is professional which I learned from its terrible price, its blurred effect is not what I want.

So which lens should I choose?

ZEISS 50mm F/1.4?
SIGMA 50mm F/1,4?

PS: I felt reluctant if I spend a lot money but got something which I dislike.

Best Nikon 1 lens for concerts?

I have a nikon s1 that i absolutely love but I'm not in love with the lens that came with it (1 NIKKOR 11-27.5mm f/3.5-5.6) it's okay sometimes but I purchased the camera for use at concerts and even when I'm front row it doesn't zoom in far enough, what is the best lens for zooming in really far? Thank you.

Vertical Grips for the Nikon D300?

S, i'm looking to buy a vertical grip for my D300, as it stands, my options are limited (lets just say i can't get the Nikon MB D10),

so I'm left with

Meike
DSTE
(These are the only two "branded" third party grips i can find in the UK),
Pixel
Vivitar

or

Hahnel (Though if i had to out of Nikon or Hahnel, i'd get a second hand Nikon).

My problem is i heard the Meike is good, BUT, problems occur after about 6 months (go figure, it's the lowest knockoff), and the DSTE just looks to be the same but different name, i can get these for about 35 GBP.

Now, i heard some good thing about the "Pixel D10", which i can get from the US for about 60 GBP.
And i also heard some good things about the "Vivitar MB D10", which i can also get from the US for the same price.

But as far as my knowledge goes, that's it. Are the Pixel or Vivitar worth that bit extra? Obviously, the grip lasting a while is important, but the feel is important to me too? Any help?! Any other recommendations?

Thanks

Which camera and which lens?! Help?!

Hey there!
My interest in photography is at its peak and i want to develop it! Its my passion.
Buying which camera, has been the trivia given the number of options available in the market today!
Ive been researching and have narrowed down to a few cameras (body only) :
a.Canon EOS 70D
b.Canon EOS 60D
c.Canon EOS 7D
d.Canon EOS 5D (Mark 2)
I've learnt that the 70D happens to be the best of my options, given the quality,ISO, MPs and the cost.
But i'm not very sure if im making the right choice, choosing this camera. So is it worth the buying and the cost for an amateur photographer like me?

Also, I'd like some help with the lenses:
18-135 IS LENS or 28-105 L SERIES LENS or 24-105 L SERIES LENS?
Also… Do they fit with my options of cameras?

I'm really in a dilemma, unable able to decide which camera and lens to buy! So help, maybe?

PS. I'm a CANON supporter in and out. So Nikon lovers, don't start off with the 'hate' debate here or whatever and try to help instead please!
