Nikon D600 Pros and Cons?

I am thinking about getting a new camera. I know I am going to get one, I just don't know which one I should get. I am leaning towards the nikon d600 and I have weighed out some pros and cons

Pros
Least expensive out of all of the cameras
High ISO looks better than the D700 to me
The resolution seems just right 24 megapixels
The photos out of this camera look awesome!
2 SD card slots

Cons
It doesn't feel as nice as the D700 in my hands
That damn AF Mode button is in the weirdest place, I hate it. I wish they kept it where it was on the D700. I use this button constantly
No CF card slot

Where is the best place to get the cheapest nikon d600 price? Thank you! Also, if you have any other comments about the nikon 600 plz let me know

Best way to switch over to Canon from Nikon?

I'm not 100% sure on switching to Canon… this is a very long term thing. I have no reason to switch immediately.

My original plan was to start buying Canon lenses, and buy a mount adapter so I can use it with my Nikon D5000 until I buy a Canon body (if that happens).

And now I'm realizing that Canon lenses are more expensive? (At least from looking for a 35mm f/1.8 or faster) So I'm thinking of buying a Nikon lens and buy an adapter in the future for my possible Canon camera.

Any advice? Are adapters worth the trouble? Do the Nikon lenses, not adapter, depend on which type of Canon body I'm planning to get? Thanks in advance!
Added (1). I'm in the film industry and Canon 5Ds are the standard HDSLR for small shoots. I want to get accustomed to their interface even though I love Nikon. I have no intention to get rid of my current camera either. Would you be able to answer any of my questions?

How to focus on the eyes with a DSLR?

I have a Nikon DSLR, but I'm pretty sure that settings are similar to other DSLRs like Canon's, or Sony's, or Pentax'.

When taking portraits, or people, you should always focus your camera on that person's eyes. But, how do you do this? Do I set my focus mode on "Single-point AF" and manually select the focus area on the eyes or just leave it at "Auto-area AF"?

How about my metering? Do I set it to Matrix, Center-Weighted, or Spot given that my subject is in the dead center and in a non-studio background?

Why there are so no one using pentax?

I went to a photography beginners course and met a guy using a pentax k-30 while the crowd were all Nikon or Canon users. I googled it and found out it is kinda awesome and Im thinking of buying one too like maybe a K-5 but why not many people are using it? Will the service like repairs be ok? How about lens and accessories avaibility esp third party?

How will A4 photo prints compare between the Nikon D3200 and the D5100?

The D3200 being 24MP and the D5100 being 16MP. I've heard 16MP is more than most people will ever really need. However I recently purchased the D3200, and my brother purchased the D5100 at the same time as we've both taken an interest in photography with the same idea - to print A4 photos. The question is, do you think there be a noticeable difference in the prints between the 2 cameras?
