This is one of the things which is making me to go for D5200 (rather than D5100), If I cant manually control all those focus points, I would rather go for D5100

Do canon lenses work on Nikon cameras?
I'm looking into buying the Nikon d5100. I have a canon camera from the same generation. I have two lenses for the canon and I am wondering if they will work on the Nikon. I can give the specific names of the lenses if that makes a difference. I just don't have them with me right now. Thanks!

Zoom lens for Nikon D7000?
I have a Nikon D7000 with a standard 18 - 105 lens. Recently I bought the Macro 40 mm lens for close-up photography. I am considering getting a zoom lens for my camera mainly for use when I am out and about photographing bird and other things from a distance. Can someone advise me on the type I should get.

Are Nikon DSLR Lenses versatile?
I have been told that contrary to Canon who has changed how their lenses attach as they evolved, Nikon has stayed the same, right from film photography. Now my question is, is this true, and if so is it only Nikon lenses that fit the new Nikon dslrs? Or do lenses from minolta etc, fit as well. I'm looking at purchasing a Nikon D2300 (christmas present to myself.) Any advice? Thanks!

What kind of camera is good for a new photographer?
Help! this question is for the photoagraphers out there. Anyways I want a camera that takes really clear images like the ones people take on on this website: http://lookbook.nu/. I'm new to the photo world and I really need help. I asked a girl who posted a photo what kind of camera she used and she said the nikon D600? I looked it up and it was way too expensive for my budget. And plus I'm only 14 so my dad would kill me if I ran that up on his credit card haha.So what's a good camera that takes really clear images like the website I shared that is in the price range of maybe $100-300 dollars at the most? thanks. 10 points to the best answer.

Which takes higher quality photos, Fujifilm or nikon?
Added (1). I recently got a Fujifilm 14 megapixel Finepix S4250. I took a few pictures with it and then compared them to some pictures I took with an iPhone 4.it kind of pissed me off because it seemed the iPhone took BETTER pictures.

How to keep my camera safe when snow is falling?
I shoot with a Nikon D5100 with a 18-55mm lens. I just got my camera about two weeks ago and took it outside to shoot in the snow for the first time today. I set it up on a tripod (I'm a self portrait artist) and wrapped a scarf around the camera body and lens. However, I was constantly worried about snow/water getting in or on the camera and damaging it. I ended up cutting the session short and going inside with inadequate photos and an unfinished shoot. Disappointing. :( Does anyone have any tips for shooting in snow or how I can stop worrying and just enjoy my shoot?
Added (1). Oh no no no, you misunderstand :) I don't do basic sit-and-smile portraits - I do conceptual work combined with manipulation. I enjoy shooting and editing, it is what I hope to pursue as a career. It is what I enjoy, and it is my form of expression. If I DID do basic portraits, then yes, I'd hire a professional. :)
