High-quality camera for beginner?

I want a camera for my birthday, but I'm not sure what I want to ask for? I want a high resolution camera, that can focus and has nice picture quality, you know, what you would expect. Nothing too fancy, because I'm a beginner. I really just want a camera that I can take nice pictures and post them on tumblr. Should I get a Nikon or a Canon? And it can't be too much money, so if there's a good one on the cheaper side that would be really cool! I shop on amazon usually, so if it's not cheap in the actual store it may be on amazon. Thanks!

18-105mm f/3.5-5.6G ED VR for $399.95 or AF-S DX Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G ED AND PLEASE I MUST KNOW WHY ???

So i want to buy a nikon d5200 but i dont know which one the red one or the black one i want the red one but the 18-105mm lens only comes with the black one so i wanted to ask can i buy the red one with the 18-55mm and buy the 18-105mm alone and put it on the SLR oh and i found AF-S DX VR Zoom-Nikkor 55-200mm f/4-5.6G IF-ED this lens can i alos put it on the d5200 and which lens is bigger the 18-105 or the 55-200 please i need to know as fast as posible thnx :) :)

Is my camera broken?

I own a nikon d3000 and a 18-55mm lens as well with a 55-200mm lens today i was using my 55-200mm lens i had the hood on the lens i was shooting my brother playing basketball and the ball hit the hood at full speed because i was shooting the ball in mid air and my lens will not foucus properly is my camera broken.is the mount broken i put my other lens on the 18-55mm and it works but will nikon cover that accident.thanks

Quality loss with Leica lens on a Nikon body?

Okay so I have a large amount of vintage Contax, Minolta, Canon, Olympus, and Leica lenses. (I may have a newerish Hasselblad lens or two, but I'm not sure if I've sold them already)

I have never experimented with using a converter to put any of these lenses on my camera. Would there be any quality loss (Aside from not being able to focus to infinity) that I might experience when mounting any of these lenses to my Nikon D7000 with a glassless converter? (Also, yes I know that these are full frame lenses and I have a DX body. Please just stick to answering the question.)

II'd love to be able to use one of my Summicron lenses on my Nikon, because.well Summicron lenses are amazing amd I can't afford a Leica DSLR Haha

How to adjust the video time length in my dslr?

My dslr which is a Nikon D3100 video time length used to be up to ten minutes then it will automatically stop.now its time length is only up to 1:40 mins only.how can i change it atleast back to ten minutes? help.i dint adjust any settings then it went down to 1:40 mins.

What Full frame camera do i buy?

Hi, I currently have a canon 600d, I want to be a pro photographer and therefore I feel I should upgrade my gear.My budget is a little of £3000.
So far I have taken a liking to the new Nikon d600 because of the cheap price, accompanied with the new Tamron 24-70 2.8, the sigma 70-200 and the 50 1.4.
On the canon side the 5d mark ii, with the 200 f/2.8, the Tamron 24-70, the 85.18 and the 50 1.4.

Which system do I chose? if you have any other recommendations please let me know, thanks!
