I'm an amateur photographer, and fairly new to it. I'm not amazing at it, but my friends and family have told me that my that my photos are quite good blah blah blah, basically I just really enjoy it. I'm using a Nikon D7000 with an 18-105 lens, and was wondering what other gear is there available to me?
I like shooting shots of a lot of things, though not really of people and faces, but nature, landscapes, I like doing closeups too, of flowers and stuff. I've recently been doing some "low key" photography, which is great, but I don't own an off camera flash so they're not as effective as I want. Also, I love doing long exposure photos of cars and traffic, but I can't really do it during the day as I don't own a ND filter. What types of lenses should I consider purchasing for this type of photography? Or will the one I have currently be enough?
I have a couple more questions: How much does a ND filter cost, and what strength one should I purchase? Is it worth getting an off camera flash and remote for my camera, how much is a decent tripod, and most importantly, is this equipment going to help me with the type of photos I'm interested in taking?
I'm sorry if I'm a little vague with details, but I'm new to this and still learning, so forgive me. One last thing I would like to know, is do you prefer Nikon or Canon, and why?
Thanks for any help guys
