I got the Nikon D5100 Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm VR Lens Kit a while now and yesterday when I was out taking some pictures of animals, I wondered why it didn't seem to zoom in much? My friends cameras zoom in a lot further and were getting better image quality than mine which I didn't understand because I have the better camera? I've tried it on different modes and what have you and the pictures aren't like amazingly clear as I would have liked. Also, about the zoom.Is there anything i'm doing wrong? I just thought it would be able to zoom in further than that. I know you can buy different lenses and what have you but they are way too expensive to buy
