How to upload pictures from camera to computer?

I just recently have gotten the new Nikon D3100 camera for Christmas. I wish to upload my pictures from my camera to my computer but it won't let me. I would usually just put my SD card into my computer but when I do it says error. I even tried a connection cord but it won't pick. Yes, I even updated all my software but to no avail. Please help.

What equipment do I need for Flash photography?

OK, I have a Nikon D3000, a NIKON SB 910 and a NISSIN di622.

Let's just focus on my SB 910.
I want to be able to take photos with my flash being off camera and my built-in flash NOT working ('cause I know there is a way to make the flash work when the built-in flashes).

Which means (as fas as I know) that I need three things:
1. A flash trigger (this is what it's called right? http://www.photoanswers.co.uk/upload/9344/images/Flash%20trigger.jpg)
2. A flash stand
and a
3. Flash shoe ()

Here are my questions:
Are all these the same for all flashes? Or do I need to buy for ex.a specific flash trigger for my nikon sb910 and a specific shoe for it?
Do I need anything else?

Is a 18-200mm lens really worth it?

Thinking of buying a sigma lens for my nikon d3000 i know that it has an opening of f3.5. And is it really that good of a lens?

Does transcript matter for photography?

I more than likely will not be going to college for photography unless I find I need to. That saying, I am pretty skilled photographer for being a highschool student. I am intelligent and responsible so please don't lecture me on that.

My highschool transcript for my first 3 years of Highschool is pretty bad, generally a C-D average. I was very lazy until the summer before senior year came when I realized I was in love with focusing on photography. Now.knowing that my transcript is poor and I won't have college education, will any types of jobs concerning photography be off limits for me due to that?

Keep in mind I want to focus on trying to be payed to do artistic travel(ish) photography for companies like National Geographic. Other options I'm considering is upgrading my Nikon into a Hasselblad H4d (I have a very decent income pay along with a nicely sized savings) and doing fashion/modeling photography or product photography.

All of the sudden, my camera won't take any pictures on any mode. Whenever I press the shutter release it just makes a really weird squeaking noise and won't focus on the subject.Do I have to take it in somewhere to be fixed?

I need to fix the battery door on Nikon n55?

I have a Nikon N55. Haven't used it in years because the battery door broke and the little silver piece that touched the battery came off. I would love to get it replaced or fix it myself. Any advice on where and what to buy? If you have a Nikon N55 you would understand why I am DYING to use it again!

How to plug in camera mic?

I bought a MIC-1 for my camera from JJC. I plugged it in to the audio outlet on my camera (Nikon d3100) and put the battery in and turned the mic on. However when I started recording nothing happened to the sound quality when I talked it was the exact same.Am i missing a step? Can someone let me know how to work the audio?
Added (1). It's a shotgun mic.

Nikon or canon slr? Which is better for vids?

I need a good camera that will take good pictures and also has good video options. I have a Nikon d3100 and the video recording capability it has is not suited for what I need. I'm leaning toward a canon but need insight on which one is better. I'm also tight on budget so nothin above 750$.
