What Should I Bring On My Tour Through Europe?

I am leaving for a 2-week (Guided) student tour of Europe exactly two weeks from now. I know the essentials that I need to bring (Toiletries, Hat, Charger, Adapter, Exchanged Currency, etc.) but I want to make this trip fun too. I'll be able to take three bags (I can check one into the plane and I can take two carry-on bags).

What I'm already taking:
---------------------------
Laptop (Web surfing and editing/posting vlogs for/on youtube)
Camera (Nikon D5000) (I have a pocket sized camera, should I bring that too?)
Go-Pro (Action Camera)
Phone (We're temporarily changing my plan for international calls)
Water Bottle
Backpack (Possibly taking a 2nd one as my other carry-on bag)
Headphones
Pillow (Flights and Train rides)
(Possibly other things)

It would be awesome if you included necessities that I might not think of too!

Thanks!

Nikon D600 D610 -- Can choosing a lower resolution improve the noise level?

Nikon D600 D610 -- I realize this is already a very low-noise camera, but I still have this question: Does choosing a lower resolution (before or after shooting) improve the noise level?

- Maximum / native resolution = 6016 x 4016 = 24.3 MP

- Next available lower resolution = 4512 x 3008 = 13.6 MP
- Next available lower resolution = 3936 x 2624 = 10.3 MP
- Next available lower resolution = 3008 x 2008 = 6.0 MP

For example, downsizing from 24 MP to 6 MP could be accomplished by averaging 4 adjacent pixels into a single pixel, (losing resolution but reducing noise).

Is there a setting on the camera that implements such averaging?

If not, can this be done in Light Room or Photoshop or other imaging software?

thanks for your answers

If the lower resolutions were obtained by averaging down the maximum resolution, wouldn't the noise level be decreased?

If the camera does not "average down" to a lower resolution, but merely selects a certain subset of the native resolution pixels

Does Nikon D3100 have with sync connection?

I want to take a photography class but it is required that I bring a DSLR with a hot shoe or sync connection. I have a basic D3100 and I know it doesn't have hot shoe but I'm not sure about possibility for sync connection?

And if not, what Nikon do you recommend that has these features?

I'm a college student and I want to be a sports photographer?

Right now I have a Nikon D7000 and Tamron 70-300mm lens. I tried to get in with the pro's at last Sunday's soccer game of Orlando vs L.A. But they didn't let me in close to the field because I didn't have press credentials. So next I decided to go to local high school's football games, but didn't know how to find out about when the seasons start and other details. If High Schools wouldn't let me in, would college games mind me taking photographs from the sidelines? Tell me what you think I should do because I really need to get my foot in.

My camera lens is making a weird noise and won't focus.help?

I have a nikon D50.it's a little old but works amazingly well! Today i went to take some pictures (in automatic focus) and the lens made a weird noise. It was a scratching or screeching noise. And it wouldn't focus. The lens works fine if it is in manual. But I'm worried about the lens. I think one of my friends messed with it while i wasn't looking and broke something?
is there anything inside of the lens that could have broken to make a weird scratching noise? Or could it just be dirt?
I just don't understand how it makes that noise in automatic but it doesn't make a sound in manual.
does anybody know what i should do?

Nikon FG shutter release is stuck?

OK so I always take out the batteries when I'm not using the camera in order to preserve them and without batteries it only works in M90 or B speed/mode. So it was in 1/2 or 1/4 and I forgot that there weren't any batteries. When I pushed down the shutter it got stuck. Normally all you have to do to unstuck it is to take it M90 mode. I did but nothing happened. I put the batteries in and still nothing. It seems to be permanently stuck. Please Help!

What type of camera do these artists' use?

I was inspired by the artist's on this website to buy a dsrl camera:

http://www.tokyofaces.com

This will be the first dsrl camera I own and since I am new to the camera world, I don't know which one to buy.

I am stuck between a Canon Rebel T3i or T5i and a Nikon D5300. I really want a camera that can take good pictures outdoors, has a movable LCD screen, and takes nice quality video. Which camera is the best for what I want and does it look like these artists' used a Canon or a Nikon?

Thank you in advance for your help
