I am a detective and am looking to buy a better camera than my department has. I need to stay under $1000 (Hey, I'm a cop.) I am looking at the Nikon D5100 because I like the swivel screen (often have some really odd angles) and at its cost I can afford a macro lens and speed light. Any suggestions would be great. I'd love the D7000 but that is just too far out of budget. I already own a Canon XT. Just looking to upgrade. thanks.
