Someone who knows about cameras!

Please help! I am going to buy a nice digital camera but I know nothing about them, from my research I'm thinking a canon is the best brand or maybe even a Nikon? I want something that can take really good professional type pictures but only want to spend a couple hundred dollars, what type of camera should I get? Also is it better to buy it brand new or would it be ok to buy a used one from eBay? Thanks!

Nikon D800 Battery from Amazon?

Hello,
I wanted to buy a spare battery (EN-EL15) for Nikon D800. I searched on local stores and they are selling it in $99. Whereas Amazon.com is selling it in $58 and even in $19 (by Digi Electronics). I want to ask that is it save to buy cheaper from Amazon.com? Save means will I get geniune and original battery in $58 or $16?
P.S. I never buy anything from Amazon.com so is it always reliable to buy stuff from Amazon?

Is any of this photography gear worth anything?

Hi

So my mum knows someone know works at the dump.
Recently he bought her a whole box of photography equipment to give to me.
I've had a very quick google but don't have time to do a proper search.Is any of this stuff useful?
Particularly, can any of it be used and/or used for film making? ie, the light meter?

Here is the list:
Minolta X-300 SLR

· Minolta 100 – 200 mm zoom lens

· Minolta 35 – 70 mm lens

· Minolta autoflash/light meter

· Ricoh TLS 401 SLR

· Raynox 5.6 – 300 tele lens

· Weltblick 45 – 135mm auto zoom lens

I understand most of it will be junk but I'm wondering if there is any gems in there? Apparently there's more as well. Thanks!

Which would be the best digital camera or camcorder to record classical music?

I'm trying to get ideas on which would be the best option to record classical music (small ensembles). Some people have suggested Sony bloggie or something similar from Kodak, but I'm not sure. While browsing through some cameras at bestbuy I found the Nikon J1, and the image is very sharp, but I couldn't record anything, so, still don't know! I would like to stay under $500. If someone could recommend a camcorder, digital camera or mic that would do a decent job, it will be highly appreciated!

Help with researching external flash?

Im interested in purchasing an external flash for my nikon d3200. I feel that the on camera flash is so harsh sometimes! My price range is about $100. All suggestions are so appreciated!
Added (1). Thanks daniel :) ill look into that! This might be a silly statement but im afraid to switch up brands on my camera.ive heard some horror stories about people using different brand equipment on their camera and their camera stops working! D:

Seeking advice from photogs?

Hi! Ill start out by saying im a very ametuer and new photographer. Idk if i can even call myself that lol. Well i purchases my nikon d3200 about 3mo ago. I have totally fallen in love with the art! I eat sleep and dream photography. Ive had to teach myself the basics and am starting to understandmore. Ive tried to link up with mostly all photographers in my area and theyre either very short with me or tell me to find a different hobby basically :/. Which gets me to my first question.how can i fins photography workshops in my area? Im a single mother and short on cash so it cant be too expenaive! And for my second question. I have recently had a handful of people request work from me and im not sure how to go about it. I never expected to earn money for my hobby, but a few people are becoming very persistant with me. I have no idea where to start. I know i dont want to have a smallbusiness. I know i dont want to create a website or blog. I dont even want to watermark my photo's.i think it ruins the picture! Do i need to print up a contract? What should it say? Ive founs myself with 3 people waiting for me to get back to them with details about pricing time length and number of pictures. Most people in my area charge $50 for an hour and around 30 photos on a cd. Not many people do prints. I would be interested in having a package for printing. Pleaseee helpppp im so confused idk how i got here!!!

Imconsidering making a post on craigslist but i dont think im comfortable with meeting a stranger through the internet lol. I have repeatedly reffered a woman to other photographers who have more expirience and she says "i dont care i want your pictures." Im still unsure of what to do… But ill definitely keep studying
